Incredible! At the very start of her singing, my right side of the body went into goosebumps like when you had the previous one ( can't help falling in love with you). She most certainly has an effect that is consistent on my LEFT BRAIN and that does not go away. What in the world is that VOICE? My favorite voice in the world so far. So much soul, class, control and emotion at only 15!! Shes a special one for sure...
Although she was only 15 when she gave this performance, it wasn't the beginning of Diana's stardom.
When she gave it, she was already a superstar who by invitation had performed in the Kremlin Palace, the biggest stage in Russia.
And a year earlier, Igor Krutoy had accompanied her on piano when she had performed "Tomorrow is a Lie" - better, it must be said, than Lara Fabien, the renowned singer for whom he had composed it - as the her final performance on 2018 _You are Super_ . As soon as the performance had ended he had announced on-stage that he would buy her an apartment in Moscow so that she could move there to study at an elite school.
He kept his word and a couple of months later bought the apartment, in her name.
She still lives in it.
The four performances she gave on 2018 _You are Super_ are stunning - in particular, "Rechenka" is one of her most iconic and extraordinary performances to date - but even they were not the beginning.
She had become a household name in Russia a year earlier following her audition aged 13 on another TV contest.
Even at 13 she had already had several years of experience on the stage. Her mother said in a recent interview that she had 150 songs in her repertoire by the time she was 8!
Although she is still only 20, there are videos of 950 of her performances on the most conscientious website devoted to her work.

Thanks for an interesting and informative reaction. After Wicked Game , in the same competition, she performed "It's a man's world". An earlier Diana performance is " Puttin' On The Ritz" - at the age of 11 or 12 years.
After wicked Game she performed "Human", "It's a man's world was one year prior when she was 14.

Diana Ankudinova - for me she creates what I can only describe as gourmet music and artistry; the most rich, colorful, flavorful voice I have ever heard. In my mind she is the Vincent Van Gogh of vocals. Captivating, bold, vibrant and a completely unique artist. I have never experienced an artist who can so consistently captivate and mesmerize, and from there take one on a journey that is felt deeply. It is like she is creating a musical painting that is alive. Quit a unique phenomenon.

Excellent reaction Sir Hairless. I don't think I will ever get used to Diana's voice. It is mesmerizing, I just can't get enough. Он начал своё знакомство с Дианой Анкудиновой с "Can't Help Falling in Love" - и она на него сильно подействовала. Всё, с чем он столкнётся в дальнейшем, он неизбежно будет сравнивать с этим ошеломляющим представлением. Песня Криса Айзека, с определёнными поправками, это сравнение выдерживает, но до физического потрясения всё-таки не дотягивает. Возникает естественный вопрос: а возможно ли вообще достичь подобного потрясения ещё раз, с другой песней? Я вижу, что возможно - поскольку пару раз мы были рядом с этим - но эффект ожидаемого потрясения был ослаблен ненадлежащим качеством и видео, и звука. Песня "Я тебя отвоюю" с шоу "Маска" на многих произвела сильнейшее впечатление, сравнимое с тем незабываемым; единственное, чего нам недоставало - по-настоящему хорошего звука. Можно себе представить, какое воздействие оказал бы ролик с живым её исполнением, подобным тому, что было в 2021 году. Саундтрек к "Дюне", не менее впечатляющий, так и не добрался до нас в достойном качестве - и даже в таком виде достоин встать в один ряд с самыми ошеломляющими выступлениями Дианы Анкудиновой. Как бы то ни было, мы имеем дело с артистом, способным делать вещи удивительные, незабываемые, из ряда вон выходящие. Она может сделать сильнодействующую вещь и из нормальной поп-песни ("Derniere Danse"), и из хорошо знакомой военной песни, и даже из государственного гимна - если бы кто-то озаботился тем, чтобы записать его как следует. А мы просто обречены на то, чтобы, воспринимая от неё хорошую поп-музыку, всё-таки ждать чего-то такого, что снова нас ошеломит, потрясёт и заставит это слушать сотни раз - как это уже случалось прежде...
It's an interesting point about shock-factor! I think, as with anything, the first time experiencing something cannot be replicated; it's just the way of the world. But I'm sure there will be many more shocks to be had from Diana's music - and I can't wait to experience them!

Enjoyed your reaction, but I wanted to say that by this point Diana was actually quite experienced despite her young age! I’ll write a summary:
Diana started taking voice lessons when she was five years old as a way to help fix a bad speech impediment (this was the result of neglect and abuse in her early childhood). However, a friend of her adoptive family noticed her unusual vocal qualities and recommended she continue singing. I believe she started performing on stage and participating in local vocal competitions at the age of six (and won a lot of them). In the first several years of her singing career, she was singing literally everywhere. There are probably hundreds of videos across TH-cam of her as a child singing in shopping malls, out on the street, in restaurants, and even for her older sister’s wedding.
Her initial burst of fame on the national level came when she participated in Russia’s version of the Voice Kids (Голос Дети) in 2017. Then 13 years old, she sang a song in a mixture of French, English, and German called “Jodel Time” where she displayed yet another of her vocal skills- yodeling! The performance was impressive, but none of the judges turned for her and so she was eliminated (it was later said that the show was rigged). This didn’t stop her though, as Diana is nothing if not resilient.
She really became famous the following year (2018) at 14. She participated on the second season of this show, You’re Super!/Ты Супер! (Wicked Game is from the 3rd season because she participated there too). During the first episode, she gave a short performance of a French song called Dernière Danse that went instantly viral and garnered tens of millions of views, not only in Russia but practically everywhere in the world. That video is what built up her initial fanbase and made her name known internationally.
By the time this Wicked Game performance came out in 2019, she already had a sizeable following and many years of stage experience behind her. Everything that she performed later, including Can’t Help Falling in Love, just served as further proof of her immense capabilities.

Diana is magical. If you want to dive further into her start she has a video of her singing the Beatles Oh Darling at ten years old at a Moscow radio station live. It's incredibly impressive and you can hear her deep, powerful voice even at 10 years old. Diana has a ton of original music that is outstanding as well. Go to her official youtube channel and sort by popularity and pick anything...dozens of eclectic styles and amazing vocal abilities. Alexander Stepin from the Russian TV station NTV (HTB) arraigned this music for Diana. He really understands her voice and has several arrangements for Diana that are atmospheric and mesmerizing. Enjoyed your video.
This is the second time I’ve heard her sing. I wasn’t so surprised this time. There is still a little shock value for me here but l liked it. Her voice is completely unique and otherworldly. At 15 she is very polished and professional.

Diana is one of my favorite singers. But my all time favorite singer is Norwegian Angelina Jordan. And she, too, has performed this song. She was 13 at the time, accompanying herself on piano. 👉 Diana's rendition of this song is unique and amazing. She has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her general range is C3-C7, the main working C3-C6) and her voice sometimes has polyphonic overtones. (Not everyone can hear that and many just say: There's something in her voice... that's it!)

In 2019 Diana sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 15 years old). This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered this unique competition and won twice.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans. She called us Friends.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here in "You are Super" as a juror, gave Diana a small apartment (37m²/ 398 ft²) in Moscow with the words: Live and sing!
There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy.
*Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is also a sponsor and a juror in this competition. His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash Qudaibergen. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Krutoy is also still in touch with Diana and he introduced her to Brandon Stone. The result: 1st CD in December 2021 and in June 2022 there was a gold disc.

Please give a listen to her performance of Rechenka (Little River) It's a very old Russian folk song that she has redone. I believe the story of the song is a young woman who is orphaned going down to the river to ask for blessings from the creatures and river on the day of her wedding, since she has no family to be with her. Honestly, everything she sings is worthy. Your musical interpretation is elevating!

Some clarification: the Russian word "rechenka" is a diminutive and affectionate form of the word "reka" ("river"). Thus, it is not just a “little river”, but a “little sweet river”, i.e. it has an endearing attitude towards the basic meaning of the word "river".

Many people are now suggesting that you review 'Rechenka' and for anybody investigating Diana's oeuvre this is a must. The necessary version is her age 14 performance on the 3rd episode of the second series of 'You Are Super'. Diana has sung it many times since and now often starts her concerts with an acapella version.
As an alternative if you wish to hear where the current 20 year old Diana is then I would suggest either 'The Day You..' or 'In My Huge City'. Both very recent and on her YT channel. Though not visual music videos unfortunately. ('TDY' highlights Diana's current highest note.)
These are just the very latest. Diana has produced a lot of work in 2023. All of it brilliant of course.

I don't know where you got this video, but if you use one of her fans sites, Kwstas Vagias (youtube), no copyright issues will arise, and Diana gets all the credits. There are not a lot of her songs there, but, as others have already suggested "Rechenka", is, and it is an iconic performance from a 14-year-old Diana Ankudinova. Igor Krutoy had asked her to do a song in her native language, and she shocked them all. It was the first D/A video I had seen, and I was hooked. Yes that's the one I used! Unless I had this filter, the video was blocked globally. I tried several times and this was the lowest level of filter that passed the checks

Whatever the YT channel on which they are posted, it is all and only Diana's TV performances for which severe copyright issues arise (which they do because of Russian TV taking retaliatory action following YT's spat with Russia).
Diana encourages reactions to her performances, so unless it is a performance over which she has no control - the TV performances - the normal YT copyright rules apply and no special measures are necessary.
(I second that Rechenka recommendation. Though she was only 14, the performance is out of this world. It is a TV performance though, so ...🙂.

@@jackburgess274 Thanks for the comment! TH-cam copyright is more complex than simply being eligible or not; it works on a system that is like a super-powerful Shazam but for visual as well as audio. I used no filter on this and uploaded 3 different times and every time the video was immediately blocked, and then I did varying levels of filter and this was the first that allowed me to upload it
I also don't understand because I see some other reactors have no issues with the same videos?!

It is preferable to start listening to Diana by participating in various contests and TV projects, because it is there that vocalists strive to show all their vocal techniques, techniques, range, control and mastery of their voice apparatus. I love how you break down what we're hearing. I did not and still do not fully understand why this young singer affects me the way she does. I'm new to her as well, but the one performance I keep going back to listen to is Rechenka, I believe from the same show. Primal, tribal, fascinating.

Rechenka and Human are a must. She was 14-15. She also has a performance on her TH-cam channel from a few weeks ago that is beautiful. I believe it’s called “the day you” it’s a duet with Brandon Stone.
Thank you very much for this new video about the wonderful Diana. I understand you perfectly, since I started to listen to her voice, I was completely hung up with her voice and the way she sings.
Looking around the web I found out that she started to sing since she was very young, because she had problems to speak and it was the way the speech therapists advised her adoptive mother, real geniuses. About this song I also found that during rehearsals her "director" would get angry with her, because, although she sang the notes correctly, he didn't feel her put into it. She is very intelligent and reserves her energies for those important moments, she has said it with her song Rechenka, she says that it empties her tremendously and that's why her rehearsals are just that, rehearsals, she doesn't put passion in them.
As I have seen that you have mentioned Igor Krutoy, I would like to tell you that before helping Diana in this contest and collaborating with Dimash, she collaborated for many years with Lara Fabian (who sang with Dimash and Aida Garifulina in a tribute to the composer for his 60th birthday). Lara Fabian has been a great inspiration for both Dimash and Diana, so I suggest you bring her to your channel. Almost everyone has started with her cover of "Je suis malade" and continued with Adagio, Caruso, Broken Bow, Perdere l'amore.... By the way, almost all these songs were taken from the concert "From Lara with Love", probably because they have a good edition and a fabulous interpretation. One thing that those of us who love Lara's voice (yes, I am also hung up on her voice) don't like is that many think that she has done nothing else after her concert, while she is still active and her voice is still as wonderful as when she was 25-30 years old (I will go to see her in Zagreb next spring).

Thanks for the great observations on scales/keys used. I wonder if Igor had any part in these arrangements - all of Diana's performances on this show (2 seasons worth) are incredible, and the arrangements of each song were very interesting. Her first performance of this season was Blizzard, which is a very powerful performance, and if you want to see her first ever performance on this show that helped garner Diana a lot of attention, check out Derniere Danse, when she was 14 years old.

It sounds like she is contracting her vocal cords to have that sound during low and middle notes-her high notes seem more open throat-at 15 yrs. as she gets older, she can strain the vocal cords closing them in the low notes. I hear a little bit of Cher in the low notes.
She is a Contralto she is very comfortable on the lower notes, they are nothing for her since they are very close to her natural talking voice, she actually strained when she was hitting the high notes and by the age of 16 she lost most of them, but through constant training and work not only she regained everytging but now sge can go astrononicaly high.
She possesses a huge range from A2 up to D6 and everything in between us her playground now that she is 20 years old, especially the lows since as I said are her natural range.
