    You can also bondo the side gaps to make it look like a whole piece ✌️

    • @diydozier3205
      @diydozier3205  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I plan to when I paint it. But using bondo is not the correct method. I'm going to completely weld the gaps and grind smooth. Then after primer filler if there is any imperfections I will use glazing putty.

      Dude that looks sweet! Thanks for the how to, I’ve been thinking about doing this. I have an 07 classic LS and I’ve already done the ss bumper swap and have an Amerihood Type-E functional ram air hood coning in the mail. I might just do the roll pan too...

      Maybe this is a dumb question but what about when you need to tow something? Does the license plate flip up?

      Just remove the screws for the tag and pull off the tag. Hitch is then exposed for towing.

      Sorry I missed this. The hitch was a Curt class III hitch 13932 for a roll pan. Purchased off ebay. Roll pan also purchased off Ebay. 18 gauge steel roll pan with license plate box and tag light cut out.

    • @Long-nd8bq
      @Long-nd8bq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      buy a little LED tag light for a motorcycle, drill some holes and mount it above the plate in the recess. Then run the wires through a small hole and connect to your OEM harness. I used LED license plate light bolts and connected to the OEM harness.

    Looks good all but the body lines at the bottom look tight. I plan on doing this to my 05 1500. Im going to 4/6 drop it. Im wondering how well it will tow being low like that with a hidden hitch? Also any problems with receivers not sticking far enough out when towing causing jack knifes on sharper turns? I dont tow at all really but hard to tell if i will in the future...

    • @diydozier3205
      @diydozier3205  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This truck is now on a McGauphy's 4/6 drop. No issues towing. Get the notch installed so you dont bottom out on the frame rails. You MUST know your limits when turning to avoid jack knifing. It will not turn tight enough going forward to jack knife. However backing up is another story. Body lines are tight at the bottom. I pulled them in. I will be welding in so I wanted them tight.

      @@SpazGuard Trailer always needs a tag. Technically you are supposed to always have a visible tag on your truck also. I just put it in the truck when towing. Never had a problem. But if I got pulled over I would have the tag for the truck inside the truck so no big deal.
