that album was a combination of many beautiful ideas and folk. a unique album and the best desert island disc ever, as its the best versions of all the music you love,
Met him in Edinburgh, 2000 or 2001 at a small exclusive venue where a workmate of mine who worked for a record company got me the tickets because she knew I loved Screamadelica and the other stuff he'd done. When I approached him once I was really nervous and didn't want to piss him off by bugging him but he had no ego at all and was really nice with us (Me and my ex) Been playing his creations for 30 years and will until I die. Rest in Peace brother and Shine like stars
When they talk about I'm Coming Down...that was the first track that I heard from the album. It blew me away. I'd never really heard anything like it at that time. Saxophones were in my mind cheesy instruments you stayed away from unless you were Kenny G. This song changed all that for me. It's still an incredible song. Pure feel.
no band has looked or sexier than the Scream circa `91-95. Larry David said that Julia Louis Dreyfus brought a lustre to Seinfeld. As did Denise to primal scream. And their voices blended beautifully. A proper passion assault.
Screamadelica is a hugely important record to me for personal reasons - but. even if I try and look at it objectively I honestly believe it a one of the greatest and most important records made - I think it stands up against the seminal records of any decade. Its beautiful, moving, covers so much ground, it's completely immersive, experimental - it could only have been made by true believers x

RIP Andy. You'll be missed in ways we don't even realise yet
His death has really upset me, like a big part of my youth has now gone.

Who played the sax on it? It's a fine performance!
@@silverapples75 Nobody knows...it's a nice mystery. Maybe McGee is a secret sax addict.
Absolutely unreal album, one of the very best of the whole 90s. So ahead of its time, hard to believe it is from 1991.
Best album of all time. Period!
Hummm always in my mind and doby 🙏🙏🇧🇪
Hope they build a HUGE monument for Andrew Weatherall
much better than the version shown on TV imo feels more relaxed .
17:05 Heartbreaking. RIP Andrew Weatherall
Wait what, Andrew Innes says “he’s dead”. This was uploaded in 2012???
@@cameronforsyth1611 It's from 2012 I think. Made me shiver a bit did that.
It's really weird.

who is the musician mentioned at 4:32 ? before charlie parker. would love to know... thanks.
Bireli Lagrene - a French jazz guitarist.
@@tree267 thank you very much
Andrew 🥀
just why that stunning sax solo on I`m Comin` Down not (and has never been) credited is just wrong.
Who even was it!?
@@silverapples75 A guy from God's horn section
@ 13 mins.
still uncredited sax solo:(

Movin' on Up is a complete ripoff of CNY's Love the One You're With.
