0mg. I wasted a bit of time searching on Google for this very clip, uggghhhh. First I found My Bloody Valentine and the track Soon on Spotify, so I knew I was heading in the right direction! Yeah, it is sooo worth it, to not have given up, because it did help me to pin down Alan's name, and jogged my memory about the name of this amazing compilation on VHS, no less! Thanks uploader, you saved me a headache! I intend to get my hands on the VHS in the near future, absolutely. Alan McGee's accent still sends me, I love it!
Wow! Memories… I haven’t seen this video in 30 years. During my college years (1990-1994) my roommate had this videotape & watched it often. Seems like it was frequently running in the background. We could recite bits & pieces doing our bad imitations of the accents. The original tape had 3 or 4 songs by each band in between these interview clips. Obviously the songs have all been cut out of this TH-cam version. Too bad because the songs were great.
Thanks so much for putting this up. Its very rare. There is a longer, comprehensive documentary about Creation called UPSIDE DOWN: THE CREATION RECORDS STORY from 2010 This video, was used to connect up videos for THE STORY OF CREATION was released as a VHS tape put out by WEA/SIRE in America in 1992 with 12 videos (4 each by MBV, Ride, and Primal Scream). In between the 12 videos is 10 minutes in total of interviews with the members of the bands and Alan McGee. That's what this youtube video is, a compilation of the 10 minutes of interviews. If you want a proper documentary, then watch the movie from 2010. And then there is a biography of Alan McGee's story as dramatic movie called CREATION STORIES from 2021 starring Ewen Bremmer at McGee with a script by Irvine Welsh (of Trainspotting fame) and Dean Cavanagh directed by Nick Moran. Alan McGee put out an autobiography called CREATION STORIES in 2013 that was sort of the basis for the movie of the same name. Before that he took part in a biography that's done purely as a compilation of quotes called ALAN MCGEE: THE STORY OF CREATION RECORDS by Paolo Hewitt. And finally, there is a huge unauthorized biography of the label called THE CREATION RECORDS STORY: MY MAGPIE EYES ARE ON THE PRIZE by David Cavanagh from 2000. Its 755 pages of small type not including sources and indexes. McGee thought it so boring he called it the "Accountant's Tale". Many participated to some degree, but My Bloody Valentine is the most notable band that had no part and all information on them was from 3rd parties. That's pretty much it.
@@Chrome-Waves No, I know you're just joking, but I'm just trying to tell people there is a proper documentary out there, and what else is available. I didn't mean to come off so heavy handed.
@@donlebo6824 No mate, JAMC ´s ¨Upside Down¨ single was released on November 1984, MBV first EP (not on Creation) was from January 85. The first work by MBV with the label was done quite a bit later, in 1988 (¨You Made Me Realise¨)
I agree MBV are amazing, but the Mary Chain and Pastels weren't bad. Being a little uncharitable to say they only signed one good band. Then they signed that ghastly pub-rock act Oasis in the mid-90s and lost all musical credibility.
Lol, Ride are SUCH dweebs. Grow a pair lads. They just wish they were the Valentines, as opposed to a pale imitation. Lol, and there is much humour to be derived imagining the gallagher brothers mercilessly bullying Andy Bell on the tour bus.
you`re not wrong but also remember they were that much younger than most on the label at that time, before Oasis made everyone believe that being a loudmouth arsehole was essential for success.
I love Kevin shields
I would kill for Kevin Shields.
Oddly Ive always prefered his brothers records

Great to hear that, glad you were able to watch this again. Yes unfortunately TH-cam copyright blocked the songs on the video so I had to remove.

5:36 accurate impression from andy!
Don’t forget The Telescopes. Awesome Creation band...👍🏻

Well summed up..
Bobby Gillespy seems so chill
I haven't seen this since 92. Thanks!
It all started with that Jesus and Mary chain record
mbv 's debut was out a year before.

That's Five Thirty's 13th Disciple on the wall behind Alan Mcgee. He must have liked it as they weren't a Creation act.
thank you so much
dope , thanks for uploading
