unending despair isnt a nerf. if the cooldown is lowered, its a clear buff as the heal/damage triggers more often. a lot more often, infact.

@@AW2111A yes, and no. the way riot seems to have thought about this on paper, is that theyre gaging "new adc items" against other roles. like they expect an adc to run these crit items on bot and bruisers like garen, darius, illaoi, olaf ... with bloodmail, cleaver, steraks builds on top etc.
this is not how this works. if you nerf defense to hell and turn sustained damage to sustained burst, then everyone is going to play/build burst.
tryndamere got hyper buffed, so did yi and gangplank. yasuo, yone are going to benefit aswell, and as a garen main im creaming my pants at the thought of rushing stride, zerkers, phantom dancer and upgrading zerkers into zephyr and destroying shit. like that build was already good, and 60% upfront attack speed is crazy. phantom dancer was 200 gold more expensive before, and garen couldnt even use the attack speed from the passive for his spin, since temporary attack speed doesnt work with his e. only permanent as from items which phantom dancer now gives all upfront. now the item is just a massive and cheap stat stick with not a single stat wasted for us.
gangplank is going to just build the crit bleed item and spam q poke with the bleed in lane and snowball like crazy. tryndamere has 50% crit chance at level 1/2 with his passive stacked and will win every early all in.
honestly, even targeted at ranged bot lane adc, these item buffs go way overboard. the game is going to degenerate into a 1 shot fiesta where ADC are going to kill anything in 3 autos, or theyre going to get bursted by other champions who can use those attack speed/crit items against them. no one who plays anything but an adc or a bruiser/assassin capable of nuking the shit out of adc is going to have fun. even ADC will constantly complain about getting 1 shot with "their" items and being targeted by every burst mechanic conceivable in this game because theyre now absolutely THE priority target by everyone. ADC have been kept relatively weak for good reason. those metas tend to be extremely toxic.

@@Bibiel200 tanks are still assassins, so no difference. Majority of tanks are doing as much damage as a carry role when building only defensive items
they need to add upgrades to all boots or else its just a clear option for a lot of champion that attackspeed boots are the best scaling boots

Worth noting that the 40% heal from timewarp tonic is *on top of* the heal over time from potions, so basically potions are now 40% stronger with this rune, this was done due to corrupting potion leaving the game

It got buffed to compensate for the loss of ingenious hunter, which would have lowered it to 5 seconds anyways - so now it's as strong as before while not forcing you to take a whole rune to make it strong

Mathematical Sett is back with that new ad tank item
the overall extended fight strength of PTA is way higher than before, the damage amp is the same and it lasts for as long as combat does, not 6 seconds, AND it applies to ALL of your damage to ANY target, not just your damage to the target you proc'd it on. it's now more teamfight oriented and better for champions who don't need the raw stats and healing that conqueror provides, but still wants to do extended fights (and not fleet footwork)

@@rike971 new phantom dancer on garen is going to be fun. the old one was already part of the meta build (stride + zerkers + pd) even though it was sub par item since the passive attack speed didnt give spins. now, its just a massive stat stick 200 gold cheaper AND more effective since those entire 60% as are going into the spin. on top of that, you get to upgrade zerkers to zephyr.
You might want to have another look at PTA, it's extended fight power is actually going up. 3 autos on the same target then you deal 8% increased dmg *until the end of combat*

The item was a problem when it was coupled with ingenious hunter. So its probably a compensation for that being removed now.
I think the introduction of Balcfire Torch is gonna be a great buff for ap junglers like Brand, Morgana or even zyra

Thats how they've always treated the class. Every time an adc does acceptably with any non crit items riot gutts the champion and then ductaped a crit ratio into their kit.

Hmmm... changes look not so great for Ashe, Recurve Bow dmg type changing and the Hurricane on-hit dmg missing mainly
But there is less slow resistance and crit items give more crit chance upfront. Perhaps crit Ashe can make a comeback with her passive bringing more value than before?
@@Morecado It feels like while trying to make crit better it gets worse on ashe. If you think about it she always misses the crit on the first hit and follows up with weak crits after swapping targets. Unless you can lead with W but that's not always possible.

Isn't that a BUFF to Unending Despair, not a nerf like you specify at 12:56? The passive timer triggers damage and a heal based on proximity. If that was 7s and is now 5s, that's actually a pretty decent buff.
Phantom, navori and essence I don’t know how to feel on those changes.
Unending despair got adjusted because of removal of ingenious hunter rune, which made it's cd 5s. That rune being a requirement to build the item was pretty lame so they adjusted it so it can now be built by anyone. This is a buff of course, as many have pointed out, and not a nerf as it was listed in the video
let me know when stats go back to when fights and duels actually could last a min or two.
I’m not sure if I’m happy or concerned for the hyper crit adc’s, Jhin, Cait, and/or MF. Those are some wild item changes and their builds will be quite different. Like Jhin needs crit but those atkspd items narrow the builds.

Since the update I have not been able to play league of legends and keep losing LP cause it says I’m leaving the game but the game crashes every time after champ select :/
Cass will be indirect buff a lot this patch. The new mage item is also very good on her as she could poison burn and e spam u, this also increase her Ap which can also stack with the conqueror rune and more utility from the Legend Haste in the precision tree.
Who would actually want the sheen-less Essence Reaver though?
It's still got the stats and passive that go like "Are you an ability-spamming marksman? Build me," but... now you also need to build tri force?
I mean, I guess with the 25% vs 20% crit chance that items are going for now, you technically have that room...

Well, since Sheen a part of it as before, maybe Sivir and Ashe wouldn't mind it? They like their spam. And Miss Fortune has crazy ability costs and typically would have to be judicious in their use. Would probably still prefer tear over this, but.... maybe. Varus would probably not mind infinite mana. Kaisa's mana costs are low, but not 0, and she really likes to spam Q and E as AD. Would she want it more than Manamune? Not sure.
Maybe removing the sheen was actually good, since it's not exclusively for those who use both spam, and use their abilities to proc spellblade?

Dont sleep on Botk people. All this HP items have now, and with crit items having removed damage. Botk is a powerful item that gives atk, speed, and lifesteal.
Im having good success with it as a second item after Collector. The %hp damage, slow, atk speed helps ensure you get the kill when combined with collectors execute passive.

I think I will pass on next season. I can already see vayne/varus top in 50% matches and with my pure hatred towards piggy ADCs there is no way around it.
If they pick a adc top you pick a mage top if you are not confident in your melee tops. If yer gonna pick a pure melee top like garen then you need to ask for last pick in champ select and run phase rush, ghost, and flash. Grow, adapt, overcome instead of whining. I literally make ranged top lanes go 0/12 everytime i'm garen top lane in diamond 2.
I can understand wanting each split to feel different but these changes on paper kill every auto attack based melee. We'll see when it goes live I guess but doesn't look good for the game imho

With these tank item changes it benefits tank ekko and tank diana more but nerfs tank champs since they actually care about health more than ability haste since champs like tahm, cho, zac and mundo actually have hp scaling
8:48 yikes, 3% on the melee passive is a massive hit for those few champs that build it. Most notably Irelia, Yasuo, Yone. AD and AS are great but that's a lot of dueling power vs toplaners. This is definitely a buff towards midlane with the items tho.

Might aswell just remove tanks. Like, tank items are already trash, none builds then unless they are a tank, that's not true for any other class of items. Armor is already trash because so few people actually do only physical, with a truckload of true damage in the game. Every patch you keep nudging tanks more and more into damage, and making them less tanky.
Now you nerfed the only item to counter crit, and removed the one item you could use to counter that one person that got super overfed.
Possibly the worst patch in modern history.

Yep let's take away Corrupting potion, such a great idea. Clarity removed years ago from Summoner's Rift, then mana pots, now Corrupting potion. Mages that struggle with spending 1/3 their mana pool at the start of the game on 1 spell will surely become obsolete now. Good job Riot!
@@thuroria7631 Doran's Ring requires last hitting, often against overly dominant auto-attack, or energy-reliant opponents that use little, or no mana. I'll give you a quick scenario of a Lux vs a Yasuo.
Lux cannot dish out enough damage against minions to keep them off the tower as fast as Yasuo can with his oppressive wind wall. As the tower starts eating some of the minions, that is potential mana recovery lost, while also fending off the Yasuo. Yasuo uses no mana and is free to keep bullying the lane. We're also going to assume you queue alone and get rando children with bad attitudes most games (extremely common), so don't expect any jungle help if you get countered (such as a Yasuo, Fizz, Irelia, etc).
Yasuo pushes it in, then is free to roam while Lux is stuck trying to mitigate as much tower damage as possible. This scenario is but an example and the issue is not Lux specific, but focuses on the squishier mages & enchanters.
If they're going to remove the last item that provides direct mana replenishment without extra conditions, then Riot should also realize squishy mages & enchanters are in a very bad place & have been for some time. They need to do the necessary balancing for the mana cost of many mage's abilities, or stop continuing to hinder them.

you have the 6% cashback which is basically the same, legendary items cost like 3k gold so you get 180 gold off of each item. Plus the 50 gold not being taxed so you actually get 190 gold off of each item
- Infinity Edge: Ok, this is good. Expensive, but at least I guess its gonna be worth it.
- BloodThirst: I dont like that the crit chance is removed, now crit adcs have 1 less option if they wanna go lifesteal, since you need to be as close to 100% crit as possible.
- Essence reaver: WHY? This was one of the BEST items for bursting dmg in the adc arsenal. We already have tons of dps, but we dont usually get a chance to use it before we get assasinated. This item was one of the very few ways to itemize into a burst dmg build. At least the mana refund is still there, I guess.
- Colector: Please, PLEASE no more BF swords, its HELL to build things with that item path, its WAY to expensive, if you are against a counter lane or you get camped it will take ages to build an item.
- Kraken Slayer: Why remove the crit chance? Also, considering that we cant build more than 1 anti tank items, I dont get why are they nerfing the % missing health dmg.
- Navori: Good, a nice second item, really cheap and grants a lot of AS and AH. I approve.
- Phantom Dancer: I dont get why are there so many items that grants so much AS and 0 AD and no crit chance, but I guess its fine.
- Statik: I love the item just as it is, but I think its gonna still be good for clearing waves, so its not that a grievous loss. On the other hand, I still dont get why it doesnt grant crit.
- New item: That dot dmg is a little bit... weird? I dunno, at least it could've been magic dmg instead of more AD.
- shieldbow: WHY TAKE THE FKIN LIFESTEAL AWAY? GIVE IT BACK YOU DOGS.
- Dominiks: I dont give a fuck about the increase of armor pen or AD. We dont need those, we need HEALTH % DAMAGE, or else tanks will remain unkillable unless we are playing kog maw or vayne. This is a nerf.
- Mercurial cimitar: Again, I dunno why crit is removed, but sure, ok. The lifesteal is nice, to have, but it just doesnt belong here, it belongs on THE FKIN SHIELDBOW. Also its WAY to expensive for an item that you only wanna build when you absolutely dont have any other choice.
- Blade of the Ruined King: Aaaaand there we go, another OMEGANERF to tank shredding, wich really hurts the front-to-back playstile of traditional marksman. This is bullshit.

As an adc main I love these changes. Having items grant 25% crit chance makes it so you don’t have to buy every crit item to get 100% and gives more items to pick and choose from. Lethal being removed is good in my opinion it was really overturned and felt kinda weird to have when conqueror exist.
