I am a HUGE MCR fan and even got a large tattoo last year for my birthday that says I'm Not Okay and My Chemical Romance. They have helped me through so much they will never know. This is one of my all time favorite songs by them! If you don't like them, then don't listen but everyone has their favorites and MCR is one of mine!!! I remember loving this performance when I went through my MCR phase as a teen. Looked it up now, over a decade later, and it's as powerful as I remembered.
I was lightly crying throughout this whole performance and then when Gee was tapping his chest it made me a little more emotional. And then for some reason the very end, when Frank shut his fingers as the song faded out... I started bawling.
I don't mean to get too personal. But I want this to be played at my funeral. Not the Original Album version, THIS version. My MCR story is when I was a young boy (Get it? Lol) I was a huge gamer and i hated music. My sisters loved playing Singstar and that was the way I found MCR, it was Helena, seeing how dramatic and how unusually not colorful the video was and how emotional the video was still hits me everytime I hear that song. Then they released Black Parade and I had gotten a new iPad nano from my dad and the only song i listened to was Black Parade. Than while I was in College (a.k.a Highschool) they Released Nanana & Sing. There were periods of time after I finished schooling where honestly I was upset about how my life was and how people didn't understand me or how much people who you wanted to be with or help could hurt you so easily. I was at a point where I was so upset I thought of killing myself. I remember how upset and angry I was about everything and on the day I was wanting to go, randomly I found myself listening to Famous Last Words. I probably listened to it 4 times in a row and decided not to go. In that moment, That one song by MCR taught me that life is hard and is full of heartbreak and rage, but it is worth fighting for. It's worth living for and I'm worth living for, for me. Now i am an uncle to 4 (soon to be 5) niece and nephews. Had that song not played at a time I needed it the most. i accept what you say...i just get upset when MCR get screwed over. theyve had a lot of shit over the years and it annoys me when they get a bad hand at luck, specially coming off probably their best performance ever.
