TOP SPEED 183mph in My Shelby GT500 with TheStradman!

- I went with @TheStradman to find the top speed of my Shelby GT500! After a drive out to a dry lake bed, it's time to put the foot down up to the limited top end speed of 183mph. The GT500 is an absolute beast!
I'm spending a few days with James and Burlacher, and after a full TheStradman supercar collection tour and a run out in the Bugatti Veyron, it's time to up the pace. Strad has often taken his cars out to the dry lake bed to see what they can do; from the 458 Italia to Corvette C8, but this time around my brutal Mustang is giving it a go with some other friends too.
After a few runs to build up to it and get used to the loose and unusual surface, it's eventually building through the 180mph mark and onto what seems like an electronic limiter regardless of gear at 182/183mph indicated. It's believed that the GT500 can do 186mph from what I've read and therefore it's no surprise to fall a touch short considering the surface is not tarmac. Next up, will be to find out what it can do on the Autobahn in due course!
However, that's not all, TheStradman was giving it a go in his McLaren 12C, as well as @StefanLewis in the Nissan GT-R, who promptly turned it into a game of soccer/football! Be sure to check out their videos from the day too!

Shmee and Stradman are a duo that i never expected to see, a crazy guy and someone who seems to know what they're doing

I haven't watched any Stradman video's in quite a while. Last one I saw was when he just got a Lamborghini. He wasn't a nutcase happy puppy yup back then. His target audience is 'boys' from what I can tell, explains a bit.

Yeah, With traction being a problem all the way up there, I'm thinking the drag coefficient gets too high for the traction. So would probably go faster on better traction on a cooler day!

What a great trip, great content, the people you see again, and the ones you meet. The amount of content made in such a short period of time is awesome. The inspiration for so many of these TH-camrs, and here you are doing something in their backyard that nobody ever does. I'm sure everyone is taking notes, and we will see alot of tours around the US by many other TH-camrs making the same stops in 2021.

Nice dig at Stradman about being beat by a girl! :D Also I remember something from around the development of the GT500 that they were limited to 180 or there abouts so to go faster you may need someone who can remove that limiter.
Back when James took his C8 out there his gf drove it and she hit a nice fast speed. I thought that's what he was referring to. Battle of the gf's.
