Cables are not as scary as they may seem. I try not to overwhelm myself by looking at an entire pattern, instead I take it one stitch at a time. If I don’t understand it, TH-cam is a fantastic tool. Thank you for another great video 🥰!
Love cables. Over the years, I have done many Irish knit sweaters. I am finishing up the Field sweater. I could only do a row or two every morning when I am alone and can concentrate. I found it a lot. BUT almost done! You do inspire me. Thanks
I’m very excited that you’re knitting on the Field Sweater! Yes, I found the exact same thing- super minds-on and only could do a couple of rows at a time. The finished garment is such a win. Enjoy!
It is so inspiring to see all of your (cabled) knits! I'm still working on a sweater collection like that. Btw fun fact: Texel is actually pronounced Tessel (yes, Dutch is a weird language from time to time).
I need to master short rows. I have Patty Lyons new book and she has some exercises. I did see a nice video from the This is Knit shop. They recommend that you have scrap yarn in your project bag to practice new techniques before you do on your garment. That definitely would have saved me from making holes in my knitting. Great sweaters. I never thought of the Field Sweater as a cable sweater. Good advice for choosing your yarn. Happy Knitting 🧶
Short rows were my least successful technique… until I slowed down and practiced with th-cam.com/video/a3S9cl47PYw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=elljlJfjS5cMehgA. Wishing you happy and clean short rows in your future!
The silver Moby Jr. looks great on you. I returned to knitting to find that patterns don't just have 3 or 4 sizes like they had in the '80s, because the goal is "size inclusivity". Like you, I am small, and it seems that the lower end of the size range has been eliminated. I think it's ironic that Petite Knits aren't actually sized to fit petite women. I have been sewing for over 60 years, because I could make things to fit my dimensions, regardless of where ready-to-wear was evolving. At 156 cm and less than 50 kg, I would look ridiculous in a sweater with a chest measurement of 120 cm in the smallest size.
Thank you very much! I’ve learned how to recalculate patterns and make modifications that best suit my taste and body. I’m so happy you’ve returned to knitting, but yes, finding a designer that writes small sizes may be worth seeking out.

I love this moto : Don't be fearful !!! Thanks for this great choice of patterns.
Yes! Fearless knitting! It’s absolutely my pleasure to share my selection of patterns.
I am knitting the siri cardigan, the moby sweater is next on my list ❤
Loved seeing all the beautiful cables! Never would have guessed the field sweater was cables!
Thanks for being here! I would classify the Field Sweater as a textured yoke sweater and a cable sweater. She’s a double duty design!

Lovely! Thank you for sharing. I haven’t heard of this breed until I came across this yarn. It’s beautiful!

@ Thanks for sending this video. That makes short rows look so easy. Such a simple step to convert a wrap and turn to a short row! 😊🧶

It might be a little better, if you record in the same position, to cover the screen that is reflecting the light. Maybe just a non-reflective cloth.
Thank you! Lighting is always a challenge.
