One of the major reason for declination of jainism is that it shows very stict and difficult path for liberation whereas Buddhism shows comparatively easier path.
So people started shifting towards Buddhism

Jaise glowing bulb par bahut layers mein paper laga ho, vaise karm chipke hue hain atma mein. Isme bhagwan khud kuch nahi karta. Karm ek cheez hai jo har jagah hai vo chipak rahi hai lagatar.

Jainism is the religion which is existing from infinite(cannot count) time.
Jainism had never neglected Hinduism (which you are telling Continusoly) but it has different views than other religions.
And Jainism had said to take diksha but if you are not able to do then it has also said how to live in the Sansar. So please correct yourself that Jainism has only shown one path of "Body tapa dena".
Bhagwan mahavir ka punya prabhav itna tha ke vo diksha leke vastra ka tyag karte Toh bhi vo vastre me he lagte hai(due to tirthankar punya prabhav).
So he although don't wear cloths but all the devotees wear cloths.
But one thing I would like to add...nice explanation you have given...

Read about four aspects of Hinsa. U will get ur answer.. in brief, I can tell. 1) aarambhi Hinsa - violence in household chores
2) Vyapari hinsa - violence in business such as in shifting materials
3) Virodhi hinsa - violence in protecting ur family, society nd the nation from enemy
4) Sankalpi hinsa - to kill someone purposefully , intentionally be it animal or human such as killing mosquitoes or as non veg
So , for Grihastha , Sankalpi hinsa is strictly prohibited...other hinsas r allowed Bcuz we can't survive as household in that case
