Bars, fork tubes, front wheel, front brake caliper, front fender, gas tank, gauges, seat, rear fender are not correct for a '79 superglide FX...If it was an FXE it would have electric start.
This bike might once have been Born as a Super Glide , and that‘s called an FXE and Not an FXS ( wich is a Low Rider ) it has parts of a Wide Glide on it including it‘s 21 inch front Wheel and it lacks a starter motor because the belt drive set up lacks the parts to put a starter Motor on it!!
Run the other way folks ,that thing is AMF and the reliability is basically junk. Alot of the parts were made in China and Japan. These bikes were rolling pieces of junk. If like ruining your weekends by being stuck in your garage working on it nstead of riding it then go ahead because that is where most of your weekends will be. This guy is not going to tell you that,but even he knows it is true.
BS......! Weve had NUMEROUS AMF bikes and they are just as good as any other vintage bike. If it werent for AMF Harley Davidson would have died in the early 70s and never returned, so instead of trashing them you should thank them for saving such an American brand, and oh by the way, they kicked off the EVO project which actually brought Harley into the 20th century. I bought a 2019 SGS off the showroom floor and that thing was the biggest POS harley I have owned.
