I have a 1974 AMF FXE .
It has been through a couple different looks over the years . Still running strong .
I like the reverse shifting and that shovel sound . Not the fastest thing around ,but it'll run 75 -85 all day on the freeway .
Sounds like an awesome bike ,would love to see a bike that has a story like that 🙂

I have a buddy that's got one just like it in a box the frame is there and everything is there I'm supposed to pick it up in Florida and put that son-of-a-gun together in my living room

@@therealtoyshop Ive just finishedputtin a 03 Duece 41 mm front end on it.Handles great with Fatboy wheels on it. Super E is next with Dynatec 2001i ignition.

you are an exact double with my thinking.Make sure you get their coil with the 2000i.Fatboy wheels just make any FX look better
How much did it sell for ? first one of these I saw was in a Tamiya Model Catalogue in 1975 [I think] only ever saw one in Australia where I lived was for sale at bike shop 8 years later [but was into dirt bikes then ,the Only Shovel Ive ever wanted .........

Proudlessly built by AMF, (Adios M-F--ker!) Most of these bikes are still on the road, but a few made it home in one piece. I love Harleys, and have owned several over the years, but those produced during AMF's ownership were, for the most part, junk.
Well opinions are indeed like ,,,well you know what,, everyone has one , it's 50 years old so what scale are assessing the junk on ,as far as I can see its holding up pretty well ,and that is the only thing I can base my opinion on , I've definitely seen far worse things ,and well I like it so that's my two penneth worth ,keep sade and spread the love ,bikes all need it 😀
