Josephine is my canon romance for Inquisition. Him being with Josephine and her family in Antiva is something I genuinely love in the epilogue of Tresspasser.
Introducing the ninth entry in my new lore/future plot threads series. @@JackdawYT there are a few other origins I’d like to see, like being a seeker or a bard I’d love to watch a video of origins you’d like to see in Dragon age 4
When I read the story in Tevinter Nights, I definitely got the impression that Lucanis would most likely be a new party member. When I read The Wake, I noticed a mention in there that Illario's display of grief was well rehearsed. I do not think Lucanis is really dead, as it doesn't make sense to introduce him in the book, then kill him off almost instantly. Lucanis and Illario appeared to me to be close, as far as family members are concerned. I really believe that Lucanis' death has been faked for some reason that we'll learn in the next game. The clues appear to be there, unless there's something I've missed. Id love to know other's thoughts on this.
Even though Lucanis is pretty awesome, I think having illario as a companion would be pretty cool too. He'd be dealing with his grief for Lucanis, on,y to find out he's still alive. or it could be some big scheme as you said and Illario is in on it, but in that case having him as a companion could have him discovered (or he really is dead, in which case it would just be Illario's grief I guess loool)
Nothing is going to be sweeter, more emotionally jarring, more satisfying, more beautiful, than the feeling we will have as superfans of Dragon Age, than hearing the Theme being played at the start up screen of DA4. The Dawn will come... and Thank God we have Jackdaw to lead us through these trying times.
Honestly, the Qunari invasion of Antiva is one plot point that makes me super excited for the next game! I can't wait to see if we have a hand in the conflict!
Thank you for this video! I love how much information you provide. I hope we get to explore Antiva in the next game. I am anxious to visit new places and meet new people in Thedas. I know things will be explosive with the Qunari, but I am looking forward to all of it.
I just wanna see Zevran again... if war is on the horizon for Antiva I think he would try and defend it. Even tho he is an ex crow on the run he always spoke fondly of his homeland.
This. Especially given the Warden is off doing who knows what. If he's romanced, though, especially, to be able to see him again, even for a cameo, would be incredible. I mean, heck, to see the Warden at Weishaupt for a cameo. And Dorian in Tevinter as a cameo... JUST GIVE ME MY CAMEOS, DAMMIT. 🤣
I would be truly surprised if he wasn't. Unless I'm wrong, he was part of a side quest in DA2 and was also part of a war table mission in DAI. With tensions rising in Antiva and The Crows at the center, his grabs for power in the background of the other games may come to light.
Wow amazing video Jack! I love your voice so much, I can feel the hype and passion for DA! Thank you for making these kinds of videos, it stucks with me more than when I read about it!
Wasn't there a rumor, perhaps in an Origin epilogue slide, about Zevran rising to power as a Talon? Would be cool to see him as the head of the Arainai Talon. Or maybe he changes the name to the last name of the Hero if romanced.
Can't wait to see all the new places in da4. It's also neat that da has all they world building for places we've never been to. Goes to show how great the world building in da is...
I really hope they do small origin openings like they did in DA:O. It made me really connect with the created character, far more than DA2 and Inquisition. And I felt invested when they returned to the point of origin and got revenge (except the Dalish one ofcourse)
i love antiva, i hope we get lots of new content for it in da4! also, for what i would like to see i selfishly hope we get to see josephine and zevran again :) maybe josephine can help the new protagonist with connections or something??
I just can't wait to be drenched in the accent again. I miss Zevran. Please, Bioware, cameo? Everyone who actually believes Lucanis is dead, please quack like a duck. I rest my case.
Hi Jack! Love your videos. Something I’ve been wondering about ‘The Wake’ short story. Do we know for sure that the person who died is Lucanis? An important conversation that happened in ‘The Wigmaker Job’ was Illario lamenting that Catarina wanted Lucanis to replace her as First Talon. Illario wanted to be First Talon, not Lucanis. So, the question is, is Illario mourning the loss of his cousin, Lucanis? Or, did Catarina die of old age? And, now he’s mourning the loss of a promotion. At this point, it’s just a theory. So, excited for Dragon Age 4!
Hey! I think this line in 'The Wake' pretty much sells that it's Lucanis that is dead/missing: “He was my cousin, but we were more like brothers, really. Always getting himself into every sort of trouble. And I was always right behind him, you know? Always.” Illario’s voice suddenly grew thick with emotion. “Now there’s nobody for me to follow.”
idk what is worse: getting emotionally attached to a character and then they're ripped way, or barely getting to know one and now never going to... Lucanis can't be dead.
@@christineherrmann205 that's what I was thinking. The ending scene in the book seems like it implies that. The Wake hits me hard since I don't have siblings either and view my 2 cousins as such.
Having watch this.... I really would hope the overall combat/gameplay mechanics is identical to DRAGON AGE 2. With all its shortcoming DRAGON AGE 2 has the best overall gameplay mechanics. The skill tree and the fluid combat mix with the TACTICAL option of ORIGINS. Some of my wishlist of the upcoming game will be: Switchable weapons (like ORIGINS for tactical purpose) CROSS CLASS combos Improve LOOT (LEGACY DLC was amazing because of this) BRING BACK FADE Materials and upgrade the CRAFTING system. NO ARMOR N WEAPON restrictions (ORIGINS replayability was high because you can be do badass ARCANE WARRIOR.) RANDOM n UNIQUE encounters (Wow in ORIGINS this really made my multiple play through exciting) FOR CONSOLE players I BEG Please allow MODDING.......... I got more but those are some of my WISHLIST
If we have to settle this matter either siding with antiva or the qunari to get new forces to fight Solas like how in origins we had to solve problems before getting help for the blight.
BTW... I will really feel at home in ANTIVA.... I have invested a good thousand Hours playing all three Dragon AGE. 90% of my character ALWAYS been a ROGUE Assassin...DM me if you want some UNIQUE play through!!
I always imagine that hitting the Like button before you start speaking is me putting a finger across your lips amorously and saying "Shhh, don't speak" As my hair flails in the cool Antiva wind, moistening my skin and ... This is not the Jackdaw Fanfic thread?
I hope they won't screw it up and that we'll have a game at least as mature and of a higher quality than Dragon Age Origins Even if I don't believe much in what I just said Especially when you see how far Bioware has fallen
I'm still hoping they bring back Inon Zur. Trevor Morris is a fine composer, but peak Dragon Age is this kind of vaguely Jewish inspired music filtered through the mind of Inon Zur. Trevor Morris is simply too different.
I think Inon Zur's heavy brass sound is part of the considreably darker style of Origins and DA2. Not that DA:I didn't have it's dark moments, but overall it is brighter, aestetichally, sound-wise and story-wise, just the overall tone. It has heavy themes but the the take is not as harsh and gritty as it once was -- which depending on tastes might be a good thing. I think DA:I is its on thematically a coherent and beautiful beast, but toballu quite a different one from its predecessors. And I for one do miss the twisted and dark and _heavy_ atmosphere of Origins and 2, which the Inon Zur signature heavy brass sound is a huge part of.

I feel like it's pretty likely he faked his death because he's rather be our companion than rule one of the Crow factions. 😄
@@bobswolfie2001 you have now convinced me we will get Lucanis as a companion.... pretending to be Illario.
