Hey Marco! What are the advantages of heavy body acrylics over oils when you're doing highlights? I've seen you use both but they seem to give the same result.
Hi! It's more a matter of personal preference for a specific workflow because in terms of results there's no real difference between the two! Oils give you extremely easy blendings and acrylics deliver slightly more saturated tones but when you know their properties you can easily play with their strength and work around their weaknesses to arrive to the same point
Thanks man!!! No, I don't have a ventilation system; I work only on single models/small skirmish warbands with a very precise spray and in a large room with a big window next to the table! But I have a good respirator for heavy priming. It depends mostly on your set-up and how you use the airbrush, but if you feel the slightest need of a ventilation system grab one with thinking twice 😉
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Thank you for the info, it is greatly appreciated. I was debating if I should move my airbrush set up from my garage to my studio.
Awesome content as always. When you airbrush do you use a ventilation system in your studio? Thanks!
I do all of my priming etc there especially for terrain creation. But for mini painting it makes more sense to be in my studio. Thanks again! On another note as a traditionally trained artist, I love to see oil paints being used in miniature painting and you do a great job of explaining the reasons why they can be such a great medium for this application.
Are contrast paints and liquidtex acrylic inks the same thing? Could you have made this with liquidtex, or golden highflow?
Yep, Contrast paints are simply diluted inks 😉! A bit of water, medium and maybe some flow improver into inks and you get the same behaviour
Bravo, bravissimo , su una base fredda cosa useresti ? Semplicemente lavature nere e/o blu ?
How would you do the preshade if the starting color would be grey ie Grey Seer ?
It all depends on your setting/base! My last video is specifically made to answer this question ;)!!!
I want to use the airbrush as a brush 😆
Maybe attaching a compressor to a sable... 😂 Jokes aside that will be the title for a future video 😉😉😉
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Great!!,👍👍👍😄
What mineral spirit do you use?
For oil painting I use cheap odourless mineral/white spirit from the hardware store. The most common brand on the shelves here in Ireland is Bartoline (but it's always the same chemical and brand doesn't really matter!)
great channel, amazing painting and brilliantly edited videos. the result is extremely impressive. what scale was the model ? & how long did this one take from start to finish?
Thanks a million man! The model is a classic heroic wargaming scale (it's more ore less like a GW Loonboss) and it took me about 10 hours to complete 😊
Marco have you used the scale75 instant colors? Whatare your thoughts ? Every time I watch your videos, I can feel a run to the paint store coming I bought some scale75 fantasy paints in dropper bottles but may get some in tubes
Bit of a noob question what was used to with the washes and contrast paints?
WHEN CAN WE GET AN EPIC VIDEO OF YOU PAINTING THE DEATH KORPS OF KRIEG!!!!!!!!???????? Im about to start painting a krieg army and need your guidance on getting that ultimate nice smooth blue
