I think Genos' core didn't disappear because Saitama was holding it. We saw before that he can casually manipulate rifts in space-time while fighting Garou, implying that he has agency over reality itself. Since he didn't want to lose Genos' core, even though he reversed causality he was still able to retain some part of the original timeline because he was directly interacting with it.
Maybe, but I doubt it. For one Genos would be flying at the core.
This is how I see it. Saitama got his upgrade, when his future body and his past body came into one. The core, not being part of Genos's original body, is now there to upgrade Genos. Genos will have two cores to upgrade his power output.

ONE states that Saitama starts out maxed out too so maxed out and limitless is the same as infinite. Both limitless and infinite meaning without end however, limitless takes it one step further by meaning without limit, end or boundary so if he is truly limitless he is essentially as strong as he wants to be at any given point in time post limiter removal. Now let's make a couple assumptions and assertions based on his character... His limiter was his physical limiter. That means strength, speed, stamina, anything related to his physical stats are thus limitless and fit into the definition of infinite... Now for an educated assumption... Removing his physical limiter also removes his limit that binds physical form to solely the material world which would allow him to physically interact with non physical objects... The question I have is as this is most likely the case, is there a limit to that

In the latest webcomic chapters, Genos is able to use multiple core abilities, executing literally 3 dragon level machines. Maybe that core will give Genos a higher upgrade to do that.

Saitama didn’t break his limiter he removed it completely so he has no more limits to break after that, therefore his completely limitless.
If he only broke his limiter then there’s another limit after that, that needs to be broken, and a limit after that as well. Breaking limits was what goku had, hence infinite potential, while saitama removed his limits completely, gaining access to limitless strength, hence infinite strength. There’s a difference in removing and breaking
I acknowledge saitama’s stronger than goku, confirming he really has limitless strength that increase exponentially and especially his actually capable of learning and to copy techniques even if it’s just first time seeing it. Even technique’s outside physical strength like time travel is in saitama’s reach of capabilities , saitama could possibly also copy garou’s gamma ray burst if garou teaches him how and improved them. Anyone who has a problem with that you can’t convince me anymore even if you gave me a 10 page thesis showing all goku’s feats.

i think like you said with Saitama asking Genos how he was alive and Genos's core still being in his hand that MOST of what happened in the darker timeline was forgotten, but strong impacts on Saitama like Genos's death kind of "clung onto" him and went back with him.
Or he forgot everything, but thought genos was dead because he WAS HOLDING HIS "HEART" ;D
I have a feeling that in the future mad cyborg arc when Genos goes to fight Dr. Bofoi and his things, Genos will die at some point and the core that Saitama got from the other timeline would come to use and bring him back to life.

I been thinking of a theory ever since i saw chapter 168. What if Saitama is becoming the next god. What if those who end up break their limiter become like a god candidate slowly gain strength until they beat the current god and take up the mantle. Like when Garuo says that he is the only one who can master the techniques with out god's power it could mean Saitama is essentially able to become god himself. And this could mean that when he eventually fights God himself he will end up having the choice to take his place or stay human. (Also I would like to think that Saitama being bald is like a sign of him slowly turning into God)
What if the plot twist Saitama going to fight his evilself god or the future Saitama because they have the same hairstyle but I think this is not possible

since there are a lot of comments about Goku here.
Goku throughout the manga and anime had to break his limits multiple times, having a new limit after surpassing his current limit.
Meanwhile Saitama simply doesn't have a limit.
the big difference is that goku had to be beaten first then recover in order for him to become stronger, meanwhile saitama becomes stronger just because someone is as strong as him until he is just too strong.
In a fight, Goku will loose against saitama as we all know that goku will start relatively low to size up his opponents as Ki management is very essential in DB because it is a limited amount and that will allow saitama to simply become stronger than goku.
Also saitama doesn't seem to tire at all, his stamina is more than enough to outlast Goku.

Saitama is limitless, all of his human traits including ; stamina,strength,power,agility,endurance are therefore limitless too. His body from inside out has become the toughest most indestructible material there is, his lungs are like made of steel allowing him to survive in space. He is impervious to any damage that we have seen ; Fire/Lava, Laser beams, nuclear bombs, radiation, poison you name it the list goes on. He has the capability to one punch anything if he wants but he's more complex than that and this is what people who dont pay attention to his character dont seem to grasp on. He is ALWAYS holding back no matter who he faces, even now in the latest arc in the manga he was holding back against Cosmic Garou only ever matching or outpacing Garou in power output, every time Garou copied his power in turn he would adjust it even more as per the graph. Saitama flat out mocks him throughout the fight and only slips up once when he sneezes and destroys the equivalent of a 650 planet earths since Jupiter can house a minimum of 1300 Planet Earths. This perspective can be alot for some, but reality can be harsh sometimes.

Its my theory: that the powers and the emotions had been transfered from 'FUTURE' Saitama's body to the 'PAST' Saitama's but he has no consciousness about the fact all the things his alter body has gone through but there is still a chance to trigger them for which he had to face similar consequences and the real reason for why he had able to achieve that state, it could be happen when the God's future avatars of the PRESENT universe beats the crap out of Genos, then "they" would be triggered and Saitama's Ultimated Mode would be activated in near future of this series and that's how he would be fighting the GOD
I think everything he did during that erased timeline, he has gained that power upgrade. His future self did combine with his past self, so it would mean everything Saitama got during that erased timeline plus what he had before.
Also Genos will get an upgrade for his power output now that there are two cores. Saitama gets an upgrade and now Genos gets one. I think that is where this is going.
Yup you are true but maybe it will be in a hidden manner (Murata's obvious choice) making it all for the next season of the series. Truely we had been unaware of the things that he had miraculously twisted the plot with a time machine, though GOD is now aware to touch Genos or he will be getting PUNCHED!!!
His lower half is naked so I like to think the top half is his past half and his bottom is from the future... he lost all memories during the merge.

Even time Couldn’t rip genos’ power core from his hand
As far as I know, matter and anti-matter explode upon contact (I think it's how Star Trek ships' engines work) and this would be another moment showing how incredibly durable Saitama's body is.
Exploding is a bit of a wrong term. Both particles rather convert into pure energy and get released. One could survive the release of energy (depending on how much matter got converted), one could not survive the contact with antimatter.

One gram of antimatter will annihilate one gram of matter. And the amount of energy released would be from 2 grams of stuff getting converted to pure energy, so around 180 TerraJoules, or 49 GigaWattHours - it’s a huge amount of power. For reference, Germany produced around 1500 GWh of electricity per day in 2021
So if a person touched their finger to anti-matter it would erase the contact area and be perceived as an explosion by the now dead body.
Kinda sounds like many "explosions" could be argued as release of energy.
I'm guessing that Saitama will physically keep his future body, hence why he was still holding onto Genos's core, but loses all the memories of that time, having the mind of the original Saitama. Hence why he didn't know what was happening or why he was holding Genos's core. So he won't remember the technique of Garou or Genos dying, but he will keep his insane physical power-up. Maybe we'll get a moment of him surprised by how much of a punch his fist's pack all of a sudden.

This is some of the best stuff ive seen in manga.. and its got me sooooo hyped up for the future, Since the web comic isnt the grand standard, but an overall outline... They will be able to add alot to the manga that one may have overlooked in his ambitions..
Usually that outline wouldnt be public, it would be the complete story rough drafted, and it would be a guide for the editors, co-authors, illustrators, etc..

I'd say yes: bang and king both see something in Saitama enough to want to be relatively close to him, Garou does recognize his strength, being the closest thing to Saitama in terms of power, Suiryu recognized something more than just strength in Saitama. Probably not nearly as deeply as genos but then again none of them actually live with Saitama

@@mrsnufflegums I don't think King has ever witnessed Saitama's wisdom. After defeating Elder Centipede, Genos asks for Saitama's opinion about what he's lacking. King was there to provoke EC by using Blast as a "sharp stick." His reaction to Genos' embracing Saitama's comment was utter incredulity. I think King recognizes Saitama's power and he contrastly understands Saitama's limited intellect.

I think the core will be installed and genos will have memories of this alternate timeline that hasnt happened yet. The question is will he tell sitama and sitama think the core was defective? Or will genos keep the information to himself while gaining a new respect and slight fear?
I think the future core might have a small recorder in it and somehow it didn't get damage and saitama see the now unexisted future along with other S-class hores and garou (maybe)

The bigger question is God aware of the reversal of casuality technique after he witnessed Future Garo teach Saitama how to do it. I speculate God will pull something unique using reversal of casuality technique he witnessed in the alternate future.
This chapter is where the series jumped the shark a bit for me, which is something that I never knew would be possible for a manga like this.

I think it'll be dual memories... so fuzzy and hard for him to remember at first, but the feelings are easier to... feel.
HE felt sad and depressed that Genos was dead, those are stronger feelings than clear memories so makes sense that he'd feel like Genos was gone still... even though he doesnt remember why.
The other thing is that the core may act as a monitor for Geno's activity and may have actually recorded Saitama's actions in the alternate future once Genos uses the extra core. On top of that, when Saitama copied Garou he used the hand where the core was to perform the backwards reaction and that infusion of energy may give Genos a form of energy manipulation but at a microscale.

well a second core means a second power storage, so he could probably exert 2 times as much power now whether he wants to use it to fight for longer or to fight harder is up to him. but it is a decent power upgrade.
Since Genos has been wanting to get stronger for a while now I believe Genos will notice the core and ask saitama how he has it, saitama will somewhat explain what has happened with many gaos in his story and give the core to Genos. Genos will now be able to have 2 cores which will most likely increase his power by quite a lot but this could be bad as what if Genos realises that saitama was wrong and power wasn't the way to go, hopefully their friendship doesnt break
I hope they use the time travel to explain that retcon ending from a while ago that just randomly happened
I think the extra core of Geno's would be a good idea as a backup like if something happens on his main body he could get back to life again using that extra core

Every morning his memory of the previous day was gone. The doctor would have him trace an object every day. When I was a kid I made a depressing head canon story about the end of OPM. Just like Saitama growing exponentially like we saw in chapter 168, in this story Saitama has been growing so strong that Genos had to push Saitama in a wheelchair because if Saitama step foot in the Earth he could break it. Saitama was very depressed and as days go by he woke up to the world destroyed. He was empty and felt grief over losing his friends. Eventually he became so strong that a single flick of his wrists can destroy multiverses and One had to come in and end the show so Saitama can never feel anything again. It’s weird but still makes me a bit sad sometimes

Oh my goodness gracious, the animators of the one punch man anime was already good, but when this get animated.. there is no way it doesn't look amazing.
It's likely a little of both, most likely he always had that power inside of him he just didn't meet anyone to draw out the potential, with him fusing with himself he either doubled his strength or went even further. He probably has a fractured memory with none of the pieces really fitting together so his mind is constructing them in a way that currently makes sense. Basically he still has the knowledge on a spiritual and physical level he just hasn't reached a point where he can control that power outwardly. Our limiters keep us from destroying ourselves, Saitama's keep him from destroying everything else.
He remembers. He easily manipulates reality. He just doesn't care now that he has everything back. Hell, that fusion may have just doubled his power. Think of it as Saitama with double the experience.
I would like to see a double core(power} Genos too. Bump him up to a number 3 S rank or something.

I would say that this development is important for the fight against God. So far he's been a regular "human". In order to be able to reverse the events that happened, he has to detach himself from the current reality and observe it from a higher level of existence to see it in its entirety. So it is possible that he left the memory of the events in a higher existential location of himself. Currently, his physical strength has returned to the beginning of the battle, but only because he cannot access the higher level of existence he left. His total power is higher, but we can only see what is on the same existential level as the observers of the change.

I don’t really know much detail about core but maybe , the core that saitama was holding could possibly store the events of Garou’s and saitama’s fight on Jupiter’s moon.
This could alter the plot in some kind of way but I’m not sure how.

As we have just witnessed Saitama doing the time travel/reverse casuality and after joining to the "Past Body", he immediately forgets all the events that happened to him (although he remembers the Genos death, which I believe is an emotional attachment that didn't die even after the fusion of bodies) now here's the interesting part... What if Saitama has done this before? What if Saitama has been fighting someone in the past and got so much stronger and then time travelled? What if the same phenomenon has happened to him before but He doesn't remember anything?
I know this might sound like a random personal opinion but I've some reasoning to support this theory, whenever someone asked him how he got so much stronger, he never replied with surity. He always beat around the bush and never told the real story. Maybe because he doesn't remember any of that. Any past fights that might have evolved him so much but due to reverse casuality, he doesn't remember anything about it.
Well its because emotions transcend time and space thats why his muscle memory of the fight is there but his memories are foggy though.
Imagine his sneeze killing zombie man but zombie man just looks down on saitama and later wants to obtain power just like him 😂😂😂
