Hey thanks so much Andrew, I always enjoy trying new things and going different routes than what people usually do, that’s why I always fish such big and wierd lures, every day I hear the same thing as the lake from other boats “your lures a little to big” people don’t understand there is more to fishing than casting small plastics and staring at their livescope screen 😂😂😂
@@NASPELTZ 💯 Fish that have seen the same things pulled past their face time and again lose interest. Using a different type or size or colour will often turn the results. Keep up the great fishing.
I'm going to try and do a kayak expedition with one of my buddies, we're putting in at Redwing, then stopping towards Lake City. Hopefully we hook into them!
I remember a flooded park last year, Everybody was like what's he fishing wish them big lures for? While they are catching nothing I starting watching you hauling in big pike lol Great video.
I cheated and watched part 2 first! Chunky Pike for sure. I'm looking forward to my summer Maine trip so I too can get on the Pike! Thanks for sharing.
I do more pike fishing from shore than I do boat on the river, I find backwater spots mostly that I can access off the road where it’s close to a main channel and has slack current, like a spillway area and cast spinnerbaits
I live down on the Rock in Wisconsin and the walleye guys think its funny that I throw giant baits but, the pike are totally forgotten about in that river and they get huge. Occasional musky too

Someone please help new to fishing mn and noticed you are targeting fish outside of the seasons but how is this ok is it CNR you are allow to still fish these fish?
I loved catching large pike (38” was on the smaller side of average) up in Alaska on the tributaries of the Yukon seen a few 50” we were using a pink bubble gum worm rigged weedless tried frogs not much luck since I don’t think their are frogs there.
@brycebarribeau2311 honestly, I’ve used them for a while now and have had no issues, for the price it’s hard to beat em, would I choose them over a tranx, Calcutta, or Lexa. NO, but they are $90 compared to $300 and up. I love my Piscifun reels, I’ve had no issues, the drag works as it should, casts really well, and are all around smooth. Come back in a few years and ask me about them then and remind me of this conversation, and we will see how the same reels I’m using in this video are holding up after some hard extreme use over the next few years actually just landed a nice musky on that same reel today, you will see it in a video next week. I asked a few musky guides, tarpon guides, and other knowledgeable fisherman about the reels and they all told me they are surprisingly good. So if you have $300 to spend, at the end of the day your better off with a higher end reel, but if you want to save some money or just get three reels for that same price, this is the option for you, it’s gonna get the job done!
I rarely measure them, I already spend an extra 10-15 second with the fish out of the water showing them off to the camera, I don’t want to take another 15 seconds getting a measurement. I usually just get them back in the water fast so they can swim off safely. If it’s a possible new personal best or just a really really big fish I will otherwise I just make sure they swim off fast

How does the pike not cut the line?
Just looks like he’s using super think mono or fluorocarbon, and it kind of just depends on where he hooks the pike.
Where is he fishing at?
Mississippi river
You gotta try the Kyogre lure. Fish will blow it up!

Thanks bro
Was the fish worth the net lol
Yes yes it was, I’m sure one of the hundred boats down river from me is joyful with their new net they found floating toward them lol
Dude how can you fish with those gloves on? I would blow my reels up if I tried that. 😂
It sucks but it was so cold at the start in the morning 😂😂😂
Can you send me the link for the rod?
If you pay attention, he said he would post a link in the description below. I’m pretty sure he don’t have time just to send you a special link.
