It's exhausting to be so judgemental and I'm aware of it happening and I try to stop my head from thinking or feeling this way but growing up in an environment that likes to gossip and likes to ostracize, it's a hard habit to kill. I hope it becomes the norm to be more accepting with authenticity, along with being able to tell what's authentic or not. Great video btw, love the editing and visuals. I only have a vague understanding of the context you're describing, but it seems to me you're referring to specific people or behaviors you've experienced. But honestly, you seem judgemental. TH-cam is really judgmental and they're so insensitive to people's even tiniest normal behavior. TH-cam crowd isn't emotionally intelligent.
I've been questioning lately what "cringe" truly means, and if it's really such a bad thing. It's a label that you throw around when you feel uncomfortable, but when you stop and question why you feel that way, it's hard to think of a proper reason ("it's cringe because... it's cringe"). It always felt like to me that that judgement came from a place of ego. I don't like it when I find myself feeling negatively about someone because of something I perceived as "cringe". I'm tired and I've got a bunch of thoughts in my head now and I don't know if anything I said makes any sense. But basically, I found your perspective interesting and validating. What I got from it was: being afraid of being seen as "cringe" limits our development and potential, and being negative towards other people because of something we perceived as "cringe" limits our connection and understanding of others.
Most content that talks about philosophy in this way is usually polarizing and only appeals to the people that already believe in that thing. I am so glad to see that you are breaking the mold and cannot wait to see your channel grow. Let's be more authentic!
I love how you think. I've called myself cringe in front of others many times and all of a sudden I started feeling cringe about it. Cringing after listening to others' comments about the way I present myself made me self-conscious and uncomfortable and after a while, I HAD to find out its origin. Thank you so much for giving the word cringe a better meaning. As you said, I think cringe just means being authentic and having the courage to be unique. It is not something to be ashamed of. People who do not have the guts to go against social norms judge others and call them cringe or just cringe at them. Thank you for explaining it so well!
Very informative. Changed the way I think. I used to do a lot of judging from cringing. I’m going to try the other type of cringe from now on. The more positive kind. I would like to see a much more authentic world as well.

this makes so much sense! especially because i realize i cringe the most at things i relate to, like if i see someone else going through an “awkward” phase that i also had at some point.
This is a serious problem. But, internally I cannot block out feeling of some things being cringe. Main thing I can do is not judge it as much and just accept it as enjoyable for others and my thoughts are just a personal preferrance.

@@eglantinepapeau1582 I mean technically you aren't wrong? But I think we aren't talking about literal cringing, more so in the way the internet likes to use the term as an adjective.
Except when dumbasses perceive anything that is deep or insightful as “cringe” that’s when you are just emotionally immature. There’s a difference. Cringe is perspective.
All I'm saying I don't care what you think, the more assumptions you make, the less knowledgeable you are in general. This is also an appeal to nature fallacy, just because something is natural, doesn't mean it is desirable. If we followed this line of reasoning we would still be in caves.
I think this resonates a lot with me or others who don't feel like they "fit in" with the world at times. Authenticity is something I really valued and felt I could even detect when I was younger, and I understand why people would have issues with some forms of expression, etc., but I do agree that we could all try to be a little more empathetic. I'm a highly thoughtful and emotive person. I think a lot about what matters to me, and I tend to write essays, and well, on the internet, people don't seem to like to read, even a few paragraphs. I get it. I shouldn't be as wordy, and that's something I acknowledge I can work on, but that's more of a skill issue and less of a personality issue I'd say. In other words, it hurts when I write something that sounds highly emotive or personal to me and someone calls it "cringe" or simply chooses to think I'm being unauthentic or get likes or something. What lead to people just assuming the worst in others, especially those they don't know? People do things for a reason, and I don't think it's fair to assume they do it from any intentionally negative place right off the bat. Authenticity for me is just being able to step aside from what others think or even re-evaluating your own perspectives and biases and getting to your core values, needs, desires, and goals. When that comes out as expression, some may judge, even if it's perfectly okay, ethically and lawfully. It's one reason why people are afraid to dance in front of others but may love to do a funny dance at home when no one is around. It really doesn't hurt anyone, just presents itself as a target for someone to reaffirm their own ego.
Embrace the cringe, that's what I always tell myself. But then occasionally I see some tiktok dance and I say fuck it this is too much for my mental health.
I've also come to realize that the only way is through. The only way to get over feeling cringe is to desensitize yourself to it. To prove to yourself and brain that nothing happened.
I really like your thoughts on this. I have always been creative, but the only thing stopping me from creating like making a business, making videos, art, is the cringe. I think a lot more people would be willing to produce and create if we got out of this barrier of cringe
neah! cringe is for selfish, empty , unaware minds. but it's good cuz we detect them exactly when the cringe happens. nothing to learn or admire in cringgy folks. they highlight issues!
When I saw people comment 'cringe' on a video. Even if I liked that video. I feel as if something was wrong with me and I acted the same. After a few months I realise its just normal.
I have a problem. I'm trying to find solution for particular situation. I have very talkative, over-sharing, probably attention-seeking classmate at uni, she is always asking dumb questions, which don't relate to the topic and talks very loud without permission. She's also asking teachers to answer something personal when class starts and everyone hears it, instead of asking them after class. She is basically big kiddo, who doesn't know how to behave during lessons. I have a serious problem, because I have a lack of motivation to visit classes with her (thanks god i have only 2 classes per week w her), but my absence is not tolerated. Everyone is laughing at her, but she doesn't care about it ig. During one lesson, I caught myself shaking from cringe actually.😅 I'm not able to focus to the teacher because of that heavy stone laying on my chest and whole body shaking when I feel cringy for someone else. Does anyone have similar experience? What should I do? P.S. sorry for my poor grammar
My main issue with myself right now is cringing at myself for liking things intended for a younger audience. I love splatoon and warrior cats and despite the fanbase being mostly people my age, since i became an adult i suddenly feel like im not allowed to like these things anymore. Ive had people call me a pedo or cringe for liking things marketed towards kids that ive never experinced as a minor and it really hurts. Even though i love these things so much i feel like forcing myself to avoid them because i have to "act my age" whatever that means
Well to me, I have the freedom to cringe at people and people also have the freedom to cringe at me because cringe is completely harmless, and everybody cringe. Just like how I have the freedom to judge people and people have the freedom to judge me. Just accept that everyone judges, same thing
Im socially so awkward, cringe and anxious but i cannot accept the fact that people dont care. When i sit among my peers, i can literally feel them get uncomfortable because i radiate so much awkward energy. And yes, they notice, its not like they dont care at all. This makes them drift away from me, or pick on me over my insecurity.

And they force that appetite on the female. "Don't kill Cringe"! ❤

Why aren't those such as underground artist who switch to mainstream and those who switch to underground from mainstream awarded in the same way as a very skillful jazz musician plays through modes in a secondary dominant approach that's still very much appealing ?
but most of what is considered cringe tends to be relatively harmless. just a bit silly, and yet these people get death threats and harassed to no end about it. if anything, the assholes are the people participating in cringe culture (not that i’m any better tho, im kinda being a hypocrite in saying this but its still the truth)

Great vid, absolutely changed my mind about cringing👏🏻 your channel is so underrated man we don’t see much of this awesome content elsewhere
This and something else I've read today has encouraged me to further compose something specific in music.
Do it bro !!
neah! cringe is for selfish, empty , unaware minds. but it's good cuz we detect them exactly when the cringe happens.
nothing to learn or admire in cringgy folks. they highlight issues!
3 videos deep and 3 brand new perspectives that recontextualize how I think about myself and the world that surrounds me. Damn.
Great idea. Except impossible, You can't just kill cringe.
This is one of my new favorite videos. I'm so glad I found your channel!
Wowww I´m so glad to finally see a video with the same opinion I´ve had for years!! I feel so understood, thank you.
Thanks so much for the video! Short, sweet, and very thought-provoking! I love your channel ❤️
Great video as always
Omg I needed this today while I was cringing and crawling out of my skin !!!
I wonder if ballet dancers and gymnasts suffer fear of cringe/awkwardness the most?
Love your videos, they're so enlightening! Also, I think people must have felt cringe when Galileo said the Earth is round.
You seem so open minded I love it!
Somethings are really cringe and need not be deemed okay.
yeah like content farms
I love this
When I saw people comment 'cringe' on a video. Even if I liked that video. I feel as if something was wrong with me and I acted the same. After a few months I realise its just normal.
Just discovered the Fads channel and I'm really enjoying your down to earth thought sharing. Very humble and inspiring. Keep up the good work!
i feel like cringe culture disproportionally targets queer and neurodivergent folks aswell, which is (and this should go without saying) bad
Even though i love these things so much i feel like forcing myself to avoid them because i have to "act my age" whatever that means
let them eat cupcake
Well to me, I have the freedom to cringe at people and people also have the freedom to cringe at me because cringe is completely harmless, and everybody cringe.
Just like how I have the freedom to judge people and people have the freedom to judge me. Just accept that everyone judges, same thing
“There are three lovely critical expressions: pretentious, gratuitous, profound. None of which I truly understand.”
Nicholas Roeg, director
A great moment for me was when I realized that cringe is actually usually a great opportunity for ironic humor
YOOOO just found you. Love your work man. Please continue!
I'm in the middle. Cringe is involuntary 😅 but at the same time, underneath it I applaud them. But I'm glad I'm not them lol 😂
Glad you came up on my feed!! Love the content 💖
Your thumbnails are super intriguing, I just had to check the channel out. I like the content, keep it up 👍
Man this channel looks amazing. I just found you man and just the names of the videos show your quality. Gained a new subscriber.
“Maybe we could all try being a bit more cringe” please god no there is too much already I can’t take it 😅😂
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing this concept through this viewpoint. Definitely going to examine this principle in myself !
quickly becoming my favorite channel
This really needs to be spread
You've been putting out so much quality content, man. Subscribed, hope you get more popular!
Damn feel you
Bro you're killing it. Your videos are awesome, I can take a lot of inspiration for my channel from you and your style. Keep it up man, you can reach the top.
Oh man Ive seen many of your videos now and I genuinely appreciate your work, I like the content, I like the vibes. If you like this too just keep up and I'm sure you will reach much more visibility. Wish you the best!

Well said! Showing this to my college freshmen who called Hamilton "cringe"
I may be cringe but at least I'm having fun being it
Thankyou , you really help me 😢
I live in the USA!
I'm close to middle-aged...whoops/shhh.....😅
But, what I've noticed here is that there is an intense dependency abuse between the male and female encountering each other's presence through the public dominion.
Of course we understand, the approach of man and also not in the least the gender biased associated regarding the present situation.
Males are heavily committed to whatever it is they want... And they force that appetite on the female.
"Don't kill Cringe"!
❤
that's actually pretty based advice bro
Great analysis for a difficult concept to cover
Fantastic video!
No better video than this on this topic. thank you!
Brilliant points made. Very wise ❤
I'm binge watching your channel, very good videos!
. . . Which award is given in music appreciation to artist who reached a "Cringe Theory" peak in their path of creativity. Why aren't those such as underground artist who switch to mainstream and those who switch to underground from mainstream awarded in the same way as a very skillful jazz musician plays through modes in a secondary dominant approach that's still very much appealing ?
cringe is great cuz it makes us aware of how stupid alot of human behavior is from narcissist to just rude people.
youre cringe
@@inciseinfinityNo, you're cringe
but most of what is considered cringe tends to be relatively harmless. just a bit silly, and yet these people get death threats and harassed to no end about it. if anything, the assholes are the people participating in cringe culture (not that i’m any better tho, im kinda being a hypocrite in saying this but its still the truth)
