The chorus of "I dont want to see them, but I can't delete them." Hits me in such a profound way. Perfectly describes how this whole situation feels. It's not about still being in love with that person. Perhaps it had something more to do with loving the moment and the person you were back then. Powerful song. She is simply the best!
The line: "anyway thanks for all the nights and the days and everything that you gave, I'll never erese it, there's one where we look so in love, before we lost all the sun, and I made you take it..." THIS IS SO HEAVY!!!!!!🥲💔
grammy campaign going strong!!! this song is so special to me because it made me cry remembering the moments with the person i thought it was gonna be my friend for life… Golden Hour is one of my favorite albums of all time and Star-Crossed is one of my favorite albums this year. I’m so grateful for you and your art, Kacey. Never stop making music. So much love from Spain 🇪🇸🤍
This album took me to all stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. And this song is one beautiful example that there is love in holding on and there is also love in letting go. Thanks for sharing this with us, Kacey xx
I just started listening to Kacey about 2 weeks ago and she's already my all-time favorite artist. I'm going to see her in concert soon and I can't wait!
This song is one those that hit your feelings and is meant to be listened to while driving down PCH. I love every thing about this album. I’m going through a breakup and Kacey just mastered this whole album. I can’t wait to see her in person one day. ❤️
What a profound way to depict heart break. Shes literally in pieces and I love the care and style the nurses use to pick up the pieces. So poetic just like the song. 🫶🏾✨
This is such beautiful artistic symbolism. Her car was her lover, she was once overwhelmed by the flowers (love) he had inside, so much she couldn't see the road (her own future) and when the car crashed (he left her) all the flowers (love) that once overwhelmed her has been ruined and now she's shattered, literally unable to continue down the road (moving toward the future).
First off there was nothing wrong with Justins Comment it just showcases two peoples interpretations of art. For me this was pretty cut dry and in reference to the plot of the movie this is in. When I look at this music video I know it’s in reference to the movie she made (which I saw.) that streams all the music videos together for a cohesive storyline. The undertone has been a reflection of real life about how she wasn’t meant to be a wife, cheated, got a divorce, heartbreak etc. This to me is about heartbreak just as Justin says too just not caused by the overwhelming amount her husband had. It’s a little more simplistic to me. For me I see a woman who is literally “broken” left to pick up the pieces and make sense of the aftermath of such a brutal situation. That much is clear. (In the film) It starts with a bride running from her wedding and driving. Yet we see here in the next scene she crashes her car. She breaks down. Maybe it can also symbolize how she can’t avoid the wreckage or hurt of conflict or a relationship ending. Maybe she can’t avoid herself or run away from her problems. We can never be sure what caused the wreckage whether that have been a overwhelming amount of love from her husband or her insecurities of being a perfect wife, etc etc all the songs inform her perspective. Which is why I don’t really see Justin’s take. Only because it’s never expressed in the theme of the album or her lyrics. Also at the end of the film and scene after this she gets rebuilt and at the end she basically is “reborn” giving thanks to life and her experiences. If you haven’t seen the movie it’s worth a watch. I enjoyed it. This whole album and it’s music videos have been under appreciated in every way. She (Kacey) purposefully had to display her emotions here. It is the perfect response to golden hour. Golden Hour is about riding the highs of love and self acceptance, empowerment. She wrote it with her ex and had a lot of his support and assistance. So Star Crossed is the opposite it’s riding the lows of heartbreak and your own failures, a lack of strength but a woman’s ability to be resilient. It’s 100% her taking a full artistic attempt at showcasing catharsis and her feelings independently from him. I can’t believe she open up so vulnerably in this art for it to be snubbed by most critics and country music because it wasn’t as upbeat and the same as Golden Hour. In my opinion in time people will learn and realize this is her best life’s work and it’s no coincidence it and the lyrics mirror her real life. Which is why I say it’s simplistic art here. There was no mention of a overwhelming love from her lovers end or getting lost or things coming to end because of that. This song is about how she herself probably ended the relationship and ran away from it and it caught up with her. So she breaks open and faces her vulnerability to the situation and how she misses him and regrets her failures and choices but now he’s only a “memory” in her “camera roll”. It’s a song about missing that person who might have been “the one” or the one who got away. It’s one of those types of songs. The symbolism a little more cut dry in reference to her lyrics because those lyrics inform her divorce. Also she acknowledges this “look at me I’m living all alone, now you’re only living in my phone.” How she feels about being alone we don’t know but what do know is that she’s looking at her memories and looking back reflecting on her choices which can indicate regret, pain or fondness.
I play a game called "crap I find on youtube" where I search key words like "official music video" and look at everything posted within the last hour. Every once in a while I come across something really well done. This is one of those times.

I am in love with this music video it’s make the song even better! I’m going to be honest from the album I would skip this song because I don’t relate to it but I have an appreciation for it now and listening to her interview how raw she was about making it make me enjoy the master piece.
One of my favorite from this chillily sad album. Love, love, love your music Kacey! I can’t tell how many times I have listened to your previous album, and thought that I couldn’t also love this one as much. But now I’m hooked! Put it on repeat again. Love you & the crew. Take care!
When I first heard this song, I immediately fell in love with it, because of how perfectly it depicted the feelings it talks about. My first thought was "wow that must hurt so bad". And now five months later I've been through a breakup and let me tell you, please, really listen to me, do not go through your camera roll.
As someone who is also going through a break up after this song and album came out and now understands the pain of going through your camera roll… I feel you on this. ❤️
If you own an iPhone, you know that every day you get “Memories” or “For You” photos. The lines “I don’t want to see them, but I can’t delete ‘em. It just doesn’t feel right yet. Not yet.” are dead on for me. Thanks, Kacey-now I know I’m not the only one living in an absolute break up hell on Earth. And make no mistake, it is Hell. Every. Single. Day. Without him. 💔
The lyrics “Look at me I’m living all alone…and now you’re only living in my phone.” punched my heart as I look at my imaginary boyfriend through my camera roll.
You know, in my 25 years, I’ve never been in a relationship. College and work kept me busy, I always figured I just don’t have the time, then covid hit, and I was not in the mood for meeting new people not already in my bubble, now here I am completely unsure how to navigate that kind of stuff, and scared of trying because of possible outcomes like this. Love just seems like a huge gamble that can leave you totally shattered.
Life is a gamble. Knowing love, of any kind, even if it’s only for a limited amount of time … I don’t know, I feel as though it’s probably worth it? Is it “better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” ?
The video reminds me of when your broken in pieces and your friends pick them up and put them together making you believe your happier with out that person 😕
So far from simple your image trek here but music feels right , even yet the best now. More I am sure latter but yet it feels right now scrolling through this BRAVO music illumination. Thanks for everything you gave here to hear. What a trip you are with no order needed*

Don't go through your camera roll
So much you don't know
That you've forgotten
What a trip
The way you can flip
Through all the good parts of it
I shouldn't have done it
Chronological order
And nothing but torture
Scroll too far back
That's what you get
I don't wanna see 'em
But I can't delete 'em
It just doesn't feel right yet
Not yet
All the best, that's all that's left
Cruel evidence
It does me no favors
I should know
It's a place not to go
When I'm alone
I'll just feel bad later
Chronological order
And nothing but torture
Scroll too far back
That's what you get
I don't wanna see 'em
But I can't delete 'em
It just doesn't feel right yet
Not yet
Look at me, I'm living all alone
And now you're only living in my phone
Anyway, thanks
For all the nights and the days
And everything that you gave
I'll never erase it
There's one where we look so in love
Before we lost all the sun
And I made you take it
i truly didnt want this song to end
