- We tested 30+ PSP games on the Anbernic RG405M. Its emulation performance is not perfect, but what I learned from my tests is that playing PSP games on the 4:3 actually still feels great! Much better than what I assumed.

Which do you think is better? This or the Retroid 3+? Star wars battlefront 2 seemed to run so much better on the 405m

I got a question regarding this handheld i was on the website i wanted ti get the standard version but it seems to me that if thats the one i get it wont come with games ? Or sd card?
Would it make a difference in performance with gamma os?
Are the games running with opengl or vulkan? My rp3 plus runs these games much better, and most of them perfectly.
What settings are you using to go full screen?
Is the image distorted or psp supports 4:3 aspect?
Did you use the latest version of PPSSPP? Because Killzone Liberation should be playable now
Now that you mention it, this was the PPSPP preinstalled on the handheld. Might as well check
the default emulator uses portrait mode. how do you fix?
Been trying to see if anyone has experience comparing this to a modded PS Vita. I’m debating between the two and the only reason I’m hesitating on the Vita is its age. But since it can play its own games/PSP natively and can handle anything below that easily, it’s a tossup. I also like the metal body of the RG405M - decisions decisions
I would stick to the PS Vita if you want to play PSP games. The best handheld is the one it was designed for!

Just so you know the Vita is only good for playing Vita,PSP,PS1 and below (not including N64) which the anbernic can play up to gamecube theres a lot more value in the 405m if you know what youre gonna play i would check if the 405m can run it and if so go for that I have a psp and a vita and a 405m on the way. Tbh Im gonna use the 405m more

@@momotaroux264 no problem! Theres a bunch of videos on the vita playing the n64 but i couldnt get it to work at all which was disappointing. Idk what theyre doing to get it to run n64. But if youre into vita and psp i say go for it if thats all you want. You can also try to get both sometimes a used vita or psp can go for 20-60 dollars

Hi, just wondering as you’ve tested a few devices. Which one do you find most comfortable for both dpad and analog centric games: Retroid Pocket 3+ or RG405m?
I'm not sure but for me, the RP3+ feels like it has slightly more comfortable analog sticks than the RG405M. The RP Flip is the one you need to avoid if you need to use analog sticks alot
Can you do a Gamecube/PS2 video for the Retroid Pocket Flip?

For someone who cares too much about 16:9 resolution, the RP3+ might be a better option; but for anyone else, it actually looks pretty good!
It has the same chipset too!
If this is the stock OS, then yes there going to run greatly and its not being used to its full potential
Yep, the video came out before GammaOS. So yes, for anyone wanting to buy the 405m, it will run faster now with cfw.
Gow chains of Olympus is harder to emulate on the first part after you beat the first boss and the sun chariot falls the game becomes more stable and gets better emulation on most devices

How is the performance for dissidia012?
Dissidia is usually playable, not too difficult to emulate
Please please, test an android system with snapdragon 800 or so. Not the best snapdragon - mid tier/last gen.
Recommend testing using something like a samsung s10.

Is possible to run PSP games in its original aspect ratio? I can stand black bars but not a fan of the oddly stretched graphics
Yes and it looks great (I think I'm on X3 resolution), I'm not sure why anyone would stretch it to 4:3

I honestly expected better performance, not sure how much its due to the emulator not being too optmized. But maybe I can improve their performance with some settings tweaking
Must not have changed any settings. All of these games run almost seamlessly on my rg353v.
I assume it should be much better on the Gamma OS

@@monospacechannel so if i buy one and no os upgrade would it run just fine? I want to use it as a multi-media device, where I can listen to music watch videos so I love to stick with that adroid front end without changing anything out of the box
Not sure what settings you were using but your performance is worse on all of your titles than my rg353v. All of these games run flawlessly on my device. You need to tweak your settings
How strange. Killzone runs even at 2x resolution on my Retroid 3+ which has the same chipset.
I also find it strange that in overall RP3+ performed better!
@@monospacechannel you probably know the answer by now but the Anbernic devices do not have up to date drivers! There's a tangible difference in performance despite having the same chipset.

@@MegaHugoProductions Gamma OS greatly increases the performance and makes certain games that ran poorly on RG 505, run good like Mario Kart Double Dash. If there's an instance where it runs well on Retroid 3+ but ran poorly on RG 405/505 then after flashing Gamma OS they should run the same as they'll both have the same drivers.
@@NyctNyct ah cool, i think in that case im pretty much set on getting the rg405m, the only thing that makes rp3+ more desirable for me is the 16:9 ratio for psp games, but as long as the rg405m can run psp games in 16:9 ratio (idm black bars) then its fine, because it seems a lot more compact and pocketable

Almost all PSP game playable, coz the Emulation is run perfect,, ppsspp is the most stablished emulator among all
Definitely, PPSPP is one of my favorite emulators out there. Easy to set up, works like a charm, with easy fast-forward/turbo fire buttons
I like the 405M but still think they are a bit pricey
The build quality, the fact that it is an aluminum frame with amazing joysticks (Hall Sensor) is well worth it. You can install gamma OS on it which comes with better drivers that also improves the performance of most games. It goes on sale quite often too. Buy it without an SD card because most of the games, you won't end up playing anyway. Buy your own or use your own Sd card and put the games only you are going to play...on the card. I regret paying the extra 20-30 dollars for the pre-loaded SD card. I play literally 1% of the games they included on the card.
Too bad killzone doesn't run well ...
Killzone seems to be very hard to emulate in these handhelds
