In this video we look at 3 WAYS to delete blank rows in Excel with Filters, Formulas, and a VBA Macro. These techniques focus on deleting or removing entire blank rows from a worksheet.
This is a common task for exported reports, and we need ways to delete the blank rows quickly.
I explain how to filter for blanks, how to create a column of COUNTA formulas to count all the cells in a row that are not empty, and how to use a macro to quickly select the blank rows.
Here are the links mentioned in the video:

Hi Jon, Your videos are of great help.Another function that I use is filter the blank rows then press F5, select visible cells only and then hit delete. I hope this works too.
Thanks for the suggestion Shinu. The Go To Special menu is another good alternative if you have a column that only contains blank cells in the entire blank rows. Thanks again and have a good one! :-)

Always excellent. Do you have any advice on updating code when inserting adding and deleting columns? Is there a way to make the cell / range references dynamic in the code? Thank you
perfect
Another good video Jon! I like the COUNTA function, I've never used this before.
The method I use to find blank rows is 'Go to' then 'Special' then filter for blanks.
Thank you Justin! The Go To Special menu is another good alternative if you have a column that only contains blank cells in the entire blank rows. Thanks for the suggestion! :-)

Howdy. I’m in the process of creating an estimating spreadsheet with sheet 1 holding all the data. I just add dimensions and it works the cost out and links to an estimate sheet ( sheet 2) is it possible to do this without it creating blank rows on the estimating sheet? I used IF function to swap info to estimating sheet. If dimensions cells are filled etc
Very useful, thanks
How to delete automatically in Macros?
for raw data use sort function
My method:
+ choose the column always has data.
+ Use function Goto in excel: Crtl+G > Special > Blank
+ Ctrl + "-" > Select "Entrire Row"
thanks
Can you tell us how to cut and paste data from filtered list in excel
Use the "remove duplicates" function. Select all. Removes all blank rows
This works nicely (if you select all you cells first AND are sure there are no dups except blanks).
Hi!
I am Liazul, I am using Excel 2007. I don't find "My Macro" on Toolbar. How can i get it? Please tell me.
How import of Excel sheets with empty rows in Power Query?
Best way, spot on...
Go to is a useless function...
here is the simple way of doing . in the first date column insert 0 for all blank cells using find replace, then filter this column on 0 values, delete all the selected rows. don't waist time in learning macros for this simple task
You can quickly delete or remove or highlight empty rows using this Dose for Excel add-in which provides also more than 100 functions to Excel:
