I'm gonna give the same advice I did last year. Go straight to qualifying, choose the worst car, if you manage to get pole or TOP 5 that means that the difficulty is bad because you shouldn't be there. Increase AI until you are in a more realistic position.
I do that with practice on each circuit. I do FP1, and if I’m miles off the pace or way too quick, then I change the AI for quali. I then reduce it by 3-6 for the race because I’m generally quite good over 1 lap so I can do 90-97, but not so consistent with it. I often finish above my quali position, but I kinda like it that way as it’s challenging to do so, and I have to do well with my strategy to do well.
I'm using 62 difficulty to try to get my VCARB on the top step of the podium every race. I love how unrealistic it is. Sergio occupying the Red Bull seat just makes it that much funnier.
I started with 45 and (traction control assist) and now I’m doing 90 on Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Team Williams. I think I should be 5-10th as Williams driver. So far I’m always in top 3, so hopefully playing with 90 AI will work
My problem was s that I have shocking race pace. On 98 difficulty in a McLaren I can fight for pole but in the race I struggle to keep up and end up defending the whole race.

To be fair, this year, the AI speed is very hit and miss. Some tracks we can blow the AI away, whilst the same difficulty at others puts me towards the back of the grid. Its really a game of judgement and making small adjustments from track to track annoyingly
It’s because the AI does not use overtake in qualy. Best thing to do is just run Hot Lap mode then your using same as them. I run 99 but only use hot lap in qualy and it’s well balanced
I have found big problem from AI like 2022 and 2023, AI is so much strong on rain condition, (they have so much more traction then me) i try a gp on dry in bahrain with AI to 85 and i was 3º oj qualyfing, then i try it again, without changing nothing!! Just set weather to light rain, and ohhh boooyyy, i got p19!!! I mean, is not possibile that in dry im 3 and in wet im 19, no mistake, clean lap, just see from the ghost car in front, i lose everything on traction after corner, i try with tc on or off, change nothing!! Can someone relete to this problem??
It still baffles me why there is no adaptive AI on these games. The game knows your track time records so surely it could adjust the AI automatically for each circuit to match those times to make it more competitive?
Completely agree. We do have an AI difficulty calculator which can help you quickly find the right setting - simracingsetup.com/ai-difficulty-calculator/
You can use either equal or not. Using equal is a good judge as pace is purely down to your skill. Qualifying at the front means your better than the current AI difficutly. If not using equal, judge your time vs your teammate. If you qualifying at the front in a Haas, you're AI is too easy!
Thing is 108 is to slow for me but i hate 110 because the car performance for ai on 110 is bs, they get like ungodly striaghtline speed that you cant so anything about and it just feels cheap, 108 seems to be the sweet spot but like i said im still 2+ seconds faster then them
This is a great video however I’ve noticed with f1 24 the ai are so inconsistent between wet and dry. I can be on pole by 3.5 seconds in the wet in f2 but in the dry, same track, difficulty, assists etc I’m only 5 tenths. In f1 I qualify 7th with a Williams in wet but in dry I’m 20th, 2 tenths off 19th. Absolutely sick of this game, absolute waste of £75
You guys have to remember that the AI is not consistent across all tracks. Some tracks they are OP, other tracks, they are super weak. Tracks like Bahrain, Imola, COTA, Abu Dhabi, you will have to lower the difficulty by 2 or 3 from your normal difficulty. Tracks like Belgium, Zandvoort, and Hungary, you can get away with going higher. I can beat these 3 tracks at 110, but have to lower to 107 for the tracks in the previous paragraph.

To be fair, this year, the AI speed is very hit and miss. Some tracks we can blow the AI away, whilst the same difficulty at others puts me towards the back of the grid. Its really a game of judgement and making small adjustments from track to track annoyingly
Is this on equal performance or not?
On 108 I qualify p12 in the Sauber but in the race I’m really slow should I lower the difficulty?
It’s because the AI does not use overtake in qualy. Best thing to do is just run Hot Lap mode then your using same as them. I run 99 but only use hot lap in qualy and it’s well balanced
EA needs to just add adaptive AI, games like MLB the show has it… ea is just lazy
That would be a very nice feature
I cant understand
Bahrain finished P14
And Saudi finished P2
It still baffles me why there is no adaptive AI on these games. The game knows your track time records so surely it could adjust the AI automatically for each circuit to match those times to make it more competitive?
Completely agree. We do have an AI difficulty calculator which can help you quickly find the right setting - simracingsetup.com/ai-difficulty-calculator/
@@SimRacingSetups Just taken a look at this, great tool, will definitely be using it. Thank you.
It's so weird for me. In F1 2021 i had the AI on 84, now on F1 24 i have it on 65. Am i just really that terrible?
Don’t sweat man. The new style F1 cars are more difficult to drive!
I feel like the difficulty levels are weird. Did multiplayer with a friend and AI, and the AI felt no different on 74 to what they did on 85
Equal cars - Off on the on lap right?
My AI difficulty is 95🤷♂️
You can use either equal or not. Using equal is a good judge as pace is purely down to your skill. Qualifying at the front means your better than the current AI difficutly. If not using equal, judge your time vs your teammate. If you qualifying at the front in a Haas, you're AI is too easy!
Thing is 108 is to slow for me but i hate 110 because the car performance for ai on 110 is bs, they get like ungodly striaghtline speed that you cant so anything about and it just feels cheap, 108 seems to be the sweet spot but like i said im still 2+ seconds faster then them
I have beaten 110 ai as well but like I said that feeling of cheese from their stats throughout a lap ruins it for me
This is a great video however I’ve noticed with f1 24 the ai are so inconsistent between wet and dry. I can be on pole by 3.5 seconds in the wet in f2 but in the dry, same track, difficulty, assists etc I’m only 5 tenths. In f1 I qualify 7th with a Williams in wet but in dry I’m 20th, 2 tenths off 19th. Absolutely sick of this game, absolute waste of £75
Will this stop the twaty AI from keeping crashing into us???
You guys have to remember that the AI is not consistent across all tracks. Some tracks they are OP, other tracks, they are super weak.
Tracks like Bahrain, Imola, COTA, Abu Dhabi, you will have to lower the difficulty by 2 or 3 from your normal difficulty.
Tracks like Belgium, Zandvoort, and Hungary, you can get away with going higher. I can beat these 3 tracks at 110, but have to lower to 107 for the tracks in the previous paragraph.
Set it to 110 AI and away you go.
I play at 110 ai and do last to first.... The. Ai is far to easy this year really
Agreed at some tracks we can just pull away.
