- In Part Two, Rebel and I head across the Bass Strait from Geelong to Devonport. Right from our first day on Tassie, we fell in love with the twisty roads, amazing scenery, friendly locals and yummy food! We hope you enjoy this part of the trip as much as we did.
This is honestly one of the coolest things I've been privileged to experience.
Stay tuned for part 3 in the coming weeks.

Nice work, glad you got to meet Annie. You two are going to need to harden up about the cold if you think you’re moving to Tassie 😂🤣. Thanks for the shout out so glad you are enjoying to trip so far. I do live on a beautiful island 🏝️
Haha Annie was lovely. Tassie was lovely. But yeah... we're definitely not used to the cold!! Can't believe it was summer!! Hahaha
WOW!! Part two was worth the wait. That boat actually, i would think a ship, but anyway, that was neat. Tasmania really is a beautiful place. bummer it's so cold. The music is kinda blues'y, kind of sit back and chill with a cold beer, or a good smoke. That road with the tree canopy, was really great riding, felt like out in the country. Well, i guess i am waiting on part three. enjoy, have fun, be careful, until next time.
Thanks David. The footage doesn't do it justice either. It was a little overcast so the camera struggled to capture the vibrant colours... but the roads were just incredible. My hands were frozen haha
Love that stretch coming out of Devonport with the left hand sweeper under the bridge and the north-west coastline opens up for as far as you can see...hits me every time!!!
I know right!! It was just amazing! Such a great way to start off the trip. We both just thought wow! We're in Tassie! Loved that section of road. So beautiful!
Just on time. When I couldn't find anything to watch. 😊
Haha awesome timing
Part 2 of the amazing adventure. It is great to see all the little places and things that make Tassie so great. You keep hinting on moving here. We would be lucky to have you both 🥰. So much fun your having and can see your both loving every minute. Cant wait to see part 3. 👍
Derby was a pretty cool place too! 😎 If we move there I will be certain not to accept a goat as a house warming present haha. We honestly had such a blast. It went so quickly. Glad you're enjoying the vids 😊
Another great and enjoyable video! Loved the scenery.
Thanks! Awesome Roads hey
Loved seeing the boat footage! So interesting
Thanks Em 🙂 The boat was pretty cool hey! I didn't get much footage though because I was a little sickly. I didn't want to move around very much incase i started feeling worse. Yes I'm a sook haha
great little tour along coastline with views like that it'd be hard to keep the eyes on the road, glad you two are having fun great videos so far cant wait for next one
It really was hey. Around every corner... just amazing. I have soo much footage because I didn't want to stop filming it.
Loved it. Very excited to get a mention 😊. Seeing some of your footage of the places we also travelled was great. Really well put together. I'll make sure to show David. Cheers
Thanks for watching!! It was awesome to meet you both. We were hoping to bump into you again in Strahan... but no luck. 😞 Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. We're already wanting to go back!!
Hello Girls. Just a little jelly as I sit here on my only day off this week watching your video. Hope you are having an absolute blast.
Penguin is a great little stop and the road around the coast there is spectacular. Stay healthy, stay happy, cheers Smithy
It was seriously awesome. I'd do it again in a heart beat. Penguin was probably my favourite little town over there. That whole area was just so lovely. And we caught it on a magic day too. Enjoy your day off!!
I've lived here for 14yrs now and daylight savings still messes with my head haha, but it's awesome for being able to go on after work summer rides 👌🏻. Love seeing Tassie from a tourists eyes, it gives a whole new appreciation for our beautiful state and I'm now keen to explore more of it! Great video Stace ☺️👌🏻.
Thanks Eb. The daylight saving is so strange to us QLDers. Glad we're not the only ones struggling to adjust. Although... after 14 years!? Hahaha
You looking forward to the meetup in Taz? I bet you're thrilled to be showing everyone around your beautiful island. Wish I could come back again. Can't wait to see everyone's vids.
Thanks you guys....for the enjoyable 33:07 minute vid !
Scenery is always picturesque down there ! I enjoy your antics !.....1 and 1/2 hours is a long time to wait in line for a ferry ! Hope you found your bag !...Thanks again and regards from Qld 🏍🦘🇦🇺
Waiting for the ferry was long and painful! And extremely cold!! The line up to get a coffee was ridiculous too haha! Yep I found my bag in the middle of the road. Oops! Thanks for watching!!
@@TheVSChick Stay SAFE and UPRIGHT 👍🏍🇦🇺🌹
Wonderful vid mate ripping around my neck of the woods stoked you had a great time down here goodonya cheers
I tell ya... I'm moving there one day!!
@@TheVSChick you’d love it mate
Hey, I'm from Bundy, too. lol moved to hervey bay when I was 6, and my whole family, apart from me, is from tassie. We came from Strahan originally. I've been to tassie a few times, and it's absolutely gorgeous
From the same stomping ground then hey 🙂 My folks still live in Bundy. I moved here after I finished uni. I love Hervey Bay but Tassie certainly has some pulling power! Strahan was a really nice area
@TheVSChick Have been trying to convince my partner to move to tassie, lol, but she just can't stand the cold.
Haha yep it is pretty cold down there. AND it was summer!!
It's Beautiful in Taziland
Sure is!!
Does everyone in Tassie know Big Bert? Haha what a legend
I literally think everyone does. Haha! I bet you're looking forward to the weekend!!?? Woot woot!
@TheVSChick really excited. It's a pity it didn't line up with your trip too
Yeah I would have loved to go with you all but just didn't feel right taking so much time off work in the first few weeks of term 1. But I'm glad that we still went. It meant that we could just take our time too. Looking forward to everyone's videos
Enjoying your trip. Did you go to the pub near where you were filming the waterfall? The food was nice.
I bet that water was freezing compared to the water near your place.
We were too early for the pub. We were trying to find a coffee shop but didn't find anywhere. Maybe we weren't looking in the right place. That waterfall was spectacular 👌 Love that's its just chillin in the centre of town. Super cool. 😊
Did you have to supply your own tiedowns, or were they provided? When I did the trip in the late 1980's they supplied this thick rope which wouldn't fit anywhere on the bike. I ended up buying a set for the rip back. Daylight savings sux. Really cool, and great weather to boot. Good on the both of you for taking on Tassie.. We use to live in Rosebury, for about 3 years in the late 1990's. Ride well. Cheers
MOZ!!! 😁 They supplied the tie downs and put them on for us.... we had to take them off ourselves though. How cool you used to live in Tassie. We rode through Rosebury
Are you coming down through Maydena? It's on the way to Strathgordon. We have a Café in Maydena. Big Bert and his crew are coming down here soon😀
Is it called Fika Time Cafe? We stopped there for breaky on the way back from our camping spot at Teds Beach. Delicious! We were a little out of sorts that morning however as we had a rough night. There was a bit of "commotion" with another camper so we didn't get much sleep and got out of there at the crack of dawn.
I was planning to go with Big Bert's crew but couldn't take that time off work. Say hello to them for me!!
@@TheVSChick Ok, bit of a delay in video, sorry. I didn't realise it was you.😊
No no no… do a night crossing… sleep the night and wake up for a great day
Haha yeah I've heard that from many people. That's what I'll be doing next time I reckon
Next question...how did the AirHawk go?? I got one off FB marketplace last year but haven't put it on yet. Have a 6+hr ride coming up in a fortnight, and just watched your vid after finishing Part 2 of the Tassie trip. Verdict??
The airhawk is great. Make sure you take it for a practice ride first. It takes a little fiddling to get the right amount of air in it. You want just enough air in it to keep you off the seat. It was awesome on the Tassie trip 👌
