I did a tiny bit of tinkering as video clips caused it to be blocked; I couldn't deny Germany a bit of Bowie.
additional search terms: Jonathan / circa Heathen / live / interview / stylophone / bbc / you can stop reading now / ta!
He's totally in love with his children His eyes are almost sparkling when he talks about his 31-year-old son Duncan. not to mention when he's talking about little Alexandria. Such a sweet man.
the coolest man that has ever lived
I was in the audience at the BBC studios watching Bowie giving this great interview and performances.
Scarr lucky you!! I born that year 😂
You know you were a cool dude when I'm smiling and laughing watching one of your interviews on a day that brought news that should make us all weep. I'm not sad. You lived greatly, acting while still being genuine, doing what you wished and somehow still bringing everyone profound joy, and most importantly didn't regret a thing. Today is not about being upset you died, but glad you lived. That's not something that should make you cry enough to bother wiping away.
You are stardust, David. Ziggy. Welcome back to the stars, friend.
I'm going to wear a black dress tomorrow, but also hot pink and purple, and light burgundy tights (I didn't have the time this morning, finding out minutes before I had to go). What's a memorial without a celebration?
+Rob Faz Starting to now. Only today though.
+emurphy66 how beautyful said and yes glad he lived, glad that i was here when he lived, because he was and will forever be a big part of the music history, he was the master. And yes i think he has turned into a beautyful star, just as the star he was. No one can live up to Ziggy Stardust
+emurphy66 Beautiful cheering words, so badly needed. Your words shine just like a bright star. Thank you. They warm me.
👍👍👍
beautifully worded
Kills me what he said about his daughter. Only glad he was around as long as he was, having been so ill from 2004 onwards, at various points, but... he was so young. So young. And Alexandria is so young. But what a father to have, her life will be one of endless learning and wonder, because of him. What an awesome guy in this whole interview, so personable, insightful, always ahead of the joke, making little asides to himself, what a down to earth and head in the clouds all at the same time kind of guy... Absolutely love him. Nowhere near coming to terms with his going... Never will.
+Will Thorpe agree in all you say. he was the biggest, a legend, and still he was a kind, funny, down to earth man, with a big heart. He was the master, i don´t think that any one can live up to his repetation, ever. Loved him so much, this is the first time, i have cryed for days of a celebities death, it really has made a emty hole in the world.
Great comment, but Bowie wasn't sick during 2004-2013. After the heart attack he did quit touring though.
+Starman my twin
You're correct. Bowie wasn't sick until he got was diagnosed with cancer in Summer 2014 - aside from the 2004 heart attack.... Also, some people quote an inaccurate info by one of his *numerous* biographers (poor David) that Bowie had 5 or so more heart attacks, BUT it's untrue in that those additional heart attacks were in relation to him having the cancer.
+Will Thorp Beautifully said!! .tears again.....Love him and miss him very much
It was his kindness that always got me.
25:39 was the proof Bowie DID do the baby sounds in "Magic Dance". Never fails to make me laugh, it's so unbelievable what he can do with his voice!
Rip David. arguably Britain's greatest rock star
If you never watch another David Bowie interview; watch this one. Watch the entire thing. Truly a experience. David's sense of humour
I'm smiling stupidly while watching this, but there's a lot of moments that make me feel sentimental. "We hope you'll be around for a long time." :(
+KittyOnTheNet Oh yes, that stung my Heart, too.
+KidOnTheNet well he kinda was. he lived a pretty long and plentiful life i think. could have been longer of course but he could have been part of the 27 club and that would have just been even sadder
so, so true . Miraculous
"An fat old Ziggy production" Ahahahah gotta love that. RIP David Bowie!
+SlaveOfLunacy That was pretty funny! :)
ryouko Yeah! :D
Charming, kind, funny, eloquent, brilliant, gracious, humble, fun... We were so blessed to have David Bowie in our lives; he was always a giver and his gifts to us are eternal. This is a wonderful and delightful interview and footage is even more precious that he's gone in body (but never in spirit or our hearts)
I always loved the way David conducted himself during interviews and inevitably a host would ask inane questions. He was able to use humor to send the message move on. I have watched many of his interviews and have applied his technique with real life situations I have encountered.
I love this man David Bowie you are the best, RIP!
I love how David whips his head back slightly or plays with his hair.. You can tell he's a little annoyed that the front of his hair is cut a little too short, it's usually a little longer than that
Pause at 16:12 Where he would be 30 years later... Played this back a couple of times and couldn't help but get the feeling that look says, "I know I'm not gonna live that long" But he was a cool guy so he always knew how to play everything off. R.I.P Jareth!
this is my all time favourite interview of David Bowie.
It just shows what a brilliant, intelligent, gentle guy he was.
This makes me cry and makes me smile! he will be sorely missed!
A really great interview, I can't quite believe it is 2002, it seems more recent than that. Not only a great rock star but a really funny guy ! It's amusing to see Jonathan Ross try and get him to answer questions about his sexuality, he turns the tables on him and runs rings around him. However Jonathan Ross is the perfect host he absorbs all of Bowie's quips and that what makes it a great interview. One of the best interviews of Bowie I've seen in fact.
He seemed very shy in interviews and reluctant.
Written on the sad day he died, what a star, there simply isn't anyone else. I am glad I found this, it shoes his sense of humour as well as his amazing talent.
+Ron Wylie
You mean 'Shows' not Shoes'.
+Mike Fuller Does it matter?! Petty grammar Nazi's really bug me. It must be hard being perfect, Mike. Please forgive the rest of us.
+Ron Wylie He was the best and no one can live up to that. He was the king, and still he was a down to earth, kind, funny man, omg he will be so fu...........................missed
+Mike Fuller typing mistake as w and e are close on the keyboard ., I reckon We all realised he meant to write shows, 'cause shoes woudn't make sense
Such a handsome and talented man, such a loss rip David
David is a very funny man bless him xx
I hope his son and daughter watch this and remember his deep love for them. He worked for every nickel kids.
that must have been such a treat to be in the audience for all of this, but when he went into his ziggy stardust song, they must have gone to heaven. wow. i thought he would live well into his 90's.. journey well david bowie.
Gail rocked the Bass on Everyone says Hi ! Best version ever, so many variations at the end of the song, love it ! David you are missed, God Bless
He was so funny and handsome and talented! I love the talk he and his baby had and how she went LA LA LA LA singing like daddy 😊
Has a star ever touched us so much - I'm glad I was alive when he was - our National Treasure always xxx
Who the hell thumbs down David Bowie??? Just WOW! >.>
What an incredible man he was. Genius music (for the most part), artistic, loving, kind and REALLY funny and clever, as this interview shows. I love it. He was the soundtrack of my youth, along with The Who. I will sorely miss him.
The Who will always be at the top for me, I'm a rock 'n roll girl at heart :-)
I should have been in my early 20s when all these musicians were in their prime. I missed out on almost all of the good stuff :-(
I do believe it is a genuine loss to the world that David Bowie is not doing interviews anymore.
It is a tragic loss the world needs people like bowie!
It is a genuine loss to the world that David Bowie is not living anymore. RIP Starman 🌟
RIP! David Bowie (Jones!) Such a talent, a genuine guy...terrific music, very warm hearted. will be sadly missed!
Makes me feel very sad watching him. I grew up on Bowie and that unique singing voice - miss him and cannot truly accept it has happened even 6 months on.
Holy crap, David plays the stylophone live at 21:55
..and funny, a true genius. RIP Starman, life well lived and gifts and talents beautifully shared...
The interview and music made this a truly memorable show . showcasing the very best of both presenter and guest . A must see for all who appreciate the remarkable talent of David Bowie , who`s contribution to contemporary music will live on .
Been listening to his music for the past four days and still can't over the fact he's gone. See you on the other side, friend!
Love you David.....amazing man xx
Deepest sympathy for Iman,
Man I miss this genius so much
poetry in motion. .. on absolute gentleman
Eternal star. Immortal human being.
So great to see Bowie's dignified non-responses to some of Ross's cringey line if questioning on sexuality and pornography. Was interesting nonetheless to see Bowies troubled expression at the first mention of Jagger.
I love him so much
Not a huge fan of his music, but he comes across a very nice and sincere man. RIP.
I always loved Bowie.
J'ai regardé cet interview, je n'ai presque rien compris mais je me suis surprise à sourire, à rire.... Quel homme merveilleux il était, merci pour tout David and see you soon.
thank you so much for posting this, one of my favourites. Music, humour, sincerity, coolness!
Fantastic, funny and very warm interview. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, David!

I still can't believe he's dead.
Mesmo sem entender nada eu assiso. Ahhh se eu entendesse. Ele é lindo e agradável. E que sorriso!
What a fun rendition of Ziggy Stardust at 41:35. :-) Entertaining interview too, though all those porn questions did get kinda awkward.
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute ♥
So glad you uploaded this. A very funny chat.
36:30 okay that hurt
Diamond Bloke. RIP.
The only reason I liked this video is because david is in it.

18months and I still miss him.i had privilege of 20mins on our own sharing cigarette well not sure what David was smoking I was so in awe ende up jibbering like idiot.
Appently Ross was doing constant free mason signs which David was aware of but ignored it wonder what they were.
most of us get old but he became more good looking ok he had teeth done he needed that but he never aged and never will.
Good kind intelligent funny man polite and family man. What talent the world lost.

The boys keep singing song on Kenny Everett was 1979
I wish Ross would shut up and let Bowie talk!!
*WHY DID YOU KILL ZIGGY?!?!*
What's with Ross? First he's calling Bowie "sir", then he's trying to high-five him. No wonder Bowie's looking away!
This is too sad to watch at the moment
Hearts.................................................!!
miss you david
I did the upgrade and now I can't hear anything with my headphones. Not fun not liking this at all.
👏👏👏⬇⬇⬇☺
When was this?
I'd say 2002, judging by the title what with it having the date 2002 within it.
3:28
Why did he get his teeth fixed!!??? Why oh WHHHYYYY!!!!!
He had to. They got rotten & decayed in his late fifties.
Oh, thank you!
I liked his original teeth better too.
+Laura Todd he got his teeth fixed in his 40's lol
The picture of Rolf Harris on the stylophone ruined this.
The stylophone.....oh dear....how embarrassing is this today in 2015!
+Martin Platt It's fantastic...and as unique as the man himself he'd use a toy...
+Martin Platt Like, not.
