Can’t begin to describe the therapeutic value in your patchwork squares and your chats. Thank you. I have been really struggling with my mental health and sleep . Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night I work up a square. Love picking a color I’m in the mood for and the feeling of accomplishment when it’s complete. ❤❤❤
I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling, you are not alone, I am here for you. Wow, making squares in the middle of the night, I never would have thought of that. I do hope you have more up days than down days. Sending hugs!!
I'm about to join you once I get supplies again. I read it can help with anxiety etc and lower blood pressure. That's one reason I'm starting up again.
@jennie-grannysquarepeg he really is beautiful. I love your Bandit, too. I had the sweetest boy like him. I'm a bigger dog person. Never was allowed cats as a child ,but I have both now. I wanted to tell you that I had a Jake. A silver dapple Dachshund. He had the softest heart and wore his feelings on his fur sleeves. Like you I miss my Jake. We called him snakey Jake, Jakey, etc. You touched my heart talking about your Jake. I've have so many fur and feather children in my life. I can't be without a dog. Thought I would kinda introduce myself to you with an animal chat. I'm in NE Texas. Native Texan, originally from the gulf coast. I'm in the piney woods now. Do you have a video on how to do the square that isn't C2C or the old style granny square? The solid one. I want to learn it and the C2C. The variegated looks especially pretty in those. All I have really ever done us old fashioned grannies. Sorry if I'm being a pest. I'm not sure what youtube is showing my name as this time. So, just in case, I'm Mary. I'm enjoying your channel. Thanks.
I have to tell you that I am so happy to see you posting videos more often. I really do enjoy listening to you. Talk about your yarn and what you’re doing.. I have to say that the hall you shared with us. Today is awesome. And, I’m looking forward to seeing, what you do with all that Yarney goodness. It was nice of your mom to send you more, and to make your daughter what I’m sure is an adorable app. Looking forward to the next video.
Great colors of varigated yarn. Can't wait to see the squares you make. Hope your dental issues are gone soon and your feeling better. Have a great day.
So enjoying your progress and your chat. Hearing your description of your child and their new hat was a joy, too. ❤ I’m working on squares for my own scrappy throw/blanket. I’m making mitered squares with the linen stitch, using striped and variegated yarns. Some new, some really very vintage from the 80s. It’s going to be fun to put together!
@@jennie-grannysquarepeg yes, they’re very easy! I’m traveling rn, but I’ll see if I can write out how I do them when I’m settled back at home. Also: just seeing the tail end of this video - the hat IS awesome! And the kid’s happiness is, too! I also have a ginger scaredy-cat - Hims my Cheese! ❤️

I'm going to be passing by Michael's in Feasterville on Thursday, think I'll stop in and check out their yarn section. I like the look of the new RHSS Speckled yarn.
Hi Jennie, I love watching your videos. You are awesome! I love all your colors, can't wait to see your beautiful squares! Bless you! I hope your dental issues are healing and everything works out with your surgery. Thank you for sharing your stories. One of the things I enjoy about knitting and crocheting is that really truly there are no right or wrong. Everyone finds the way that works for them, so that’s the right way. Right? Some of us are rule, followers, and some of us like to strike out on our own. Either way is the right way. The things I enjoy about your channel is that I usually learn something that I didn’t know before. Incense making blankets is my favorite thing to do, as well as making hats for a local charity. I enjoy seeing all of your blankets. Right now I am working on a colorful rectangular, granny blanket. I crocheted 35 inch grannies to go in the middle and just started working around them. The main yarn is super fruity stripes. I’m adding in various resin oranges and pink and yellows purples and that makes it fun. Thus blanket is a boggy creek, brigade, blanket. The kids will love all the bright colors.
I love the patchwork blanket you showed us today. Also I absolutely love all the yarn purchases. You are so good with colors. Can I shop with you sometime? Lol 😆 Thanks so much.

I love your yarn well with beautiful colors. I had Monet back from the 80s not realizing it was the same color. I never tried Caron simply soft variegated. I'm going to have to try it. I love color too
You got me hooked on the patchwork blanket, as of right now I have 300 squares done, they’re addicting can’t wait to start putting it together. Enjoy watching you 😊
Omg, orange boy's are so ornery. Our sweet orange boy of 15 years passed on 11/11. About a month later a sweet feral orange boy showed up at our back door. Its bittersweet seeing him. He a sweet sweet boy 😢❤
Nice yarn haul. I also hit the joanns doorbuster sale (I went 4 times in 4 days!!) I have to buy yarn when it's on sale and the prices were the lowest they've had in a long time.😊 Your fur babies are beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing ❤
I have been binge watching your videos. I watched you purge videos and I wanted to say I am very proud of you for facing what you knew was a problem. You did it with dignity and truth. While it hurt my heart to see you get rid of all that yarn I recognize while the stash isn’t a problem for me it can be and is a problem for others. Bag O Day doesn’t keep a stash. She uses what she has or needs to and gives the rest away. I wanted to give you a suggestion for the future that might help you with your excess yarn, if you accumulate any again. Look up the Boggy Creek Blankets. Several ladies have started a movement to make and donate blankets to a camp for chronically ill kids. She’z got yarn 2, and the Crafty Floridian are the 2 ladies I can remember at the moment. Keep up the great work on your health. ❤❤❤
I totally understand. In October I lost my adorable little black terrier mix, Spencer. He was a wonderful dog. So happy and so lovable. His tail wagged all the time and he would often turn up in the shower I would. I would look down, and there he would be. What a funny dog he loved me, but he absolutely adored my daughter’s oldest son, Michael. Michael had picked people in his home who were allergic to dogs. If that had not been so, I would have given Spencer to him when Spencer passed, I told Michael that he could have, the ashes, which came in a beautiful redwood box with his name on it. A week ago today I had to say goodbye to my sweet little white, snubby nose, Chihuahua, named Finn. Finny was my baby. It literally broke my heart to lose him. The stress and the sadness has actually made me sick. I am 80 years old, and I think my age has something to do with that. The little guy never weighed over 7 1/2 pounds, but when he passed, he only weighed a little over 4 pounds. I did everything I could to save him, but nothing worked. We took both dogs to our vets, office, and the whole family was there who love them over the rainbow bridge. I really don’t think I will ever get over losing my baby. His ashes are in a very small redwood box with his name on it, just like Spencer. I definitely will need another companion, as I live alone, and I hate coming into an empty home. I have decided to get a very young cat. I’ve had cats before, and both my daughter and son have cats in their family. I’m looking forward to getting to know my new friend. I will never ever forget Spencer and my babyTT9NNY/. I STILL FEEL HIS PRESENCE IN MORE THAN ONCE I HAVE REACHED OVER TO GIVE HIM A PET OR SCRATCH HIS TUMMY. HE WAS SO TINY, AND SO SWEET NATURED. HE WASN’T LIKE MOST OTHER CHIHUAHUAS. HE WAS VERY SWEET AND FRIENDLY, AND THE LOUD ANYONE TO PASS HIM, OR HOLD HIM AND HE YAPPED ONLY WHEN HE THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY NECESSARY. YOU FINALLY WASN’T REALLY ABLE TO BARK ANYMORE SO HE WOULD GET TO LET ME KNOW HE WANTED IT UP ON THE COUCH. IN THE SICK AS HE WAS, HE WAS WOBBLE INTO THE BATHROOM TO USE HIS PUPPY PAD.I am grateful to God that I had these two wonderful little guys in my life. They made me happy, gave me comfort, and were my constant companions, and always happy to see me when I came through the door. 41:0041:00
Arlo is so pretty. I never had problems with my cats eating yarn. I would come home from work and find my balls unwound all over the house. I now have a boy that will chew my yarn in half in the time it takes to go to the bathroom. I'm working on a C2C blanket with lots of ends to weave.
I have donated six bags of yarn to a nursing home and more yarn to ladies that I am teaching to crochet. I still have a large stash of yarn that I am working through this year. I am currently working on a scrapghan right now.
I did the same when I watched your purge. I went through mine, organized it and will not buy any more until I finish up my projects. Then only for specific projects. 🤞🤞🤞
Now see that is a perfect example of doing things differently. I love laying the squares out on the floor and deciding where I want the colors to go. I have so much fun re-arranging the squares until they are just perfect!

I wanted to add Red Heart with love has color Chocolate..compares to warm brown red heart...if they still make it....i try to buy up browns and greens beside whites...th9se necessary and greens can be hard to find
Wildflower works out very pretty for squares , get more of it , pair it with a solid blue...i dont like caron simply soft ..i am looking for yellow variegated, yes hard to find....monet one of my fave RH yarn colorways. Want to add in old days like the 70s 80s 90s, we refered to yarn hooks by letter not number size ...f and g hook size was the preferred sizes..not h i and j of today. We didnt get in such a hurry then. Lol.
I am now on the hunt for a yellow variegated yarn, wish me luck! I do prefer to use letters for my hook size because that's how I learned but the world is so international these days.
I’m watching this for the second time, and I can’t remember if I made a comment the first time round. If I have, please forgive me I just wanted to let you know that I understand the sense of loss you have over the two cats you love so much. I Spencer, who was an adorable carrier next, on October 9, 2023. On March 8, we said goodbye to my precious baby.Finny, who was an 18-year-old white Chihuahua. Both dogs were gentle, and love to be loved. I truly feel that I will never get over losing them. I lost my husband on January 8, 2014, so these little guys became my family. now I’m all by myself here in this empty apartment. I know there are people who don’t understand that grieving. The loss of a pet can be devastating. I would love to have another little Chihuahua, but the circumstances I live in tell me, it would be better to get a young cat. When the time is right, I think that is what I will do. Well, I have to say that dancer and Finny will always occupy a very very special place in my heart. The three of us went to the death of my husband, the sale of our home, and the moved to this tiny apartment. I never had to come home to an empty house. I am so glad that you have bandit and Arlo. I can tell how much joy they bring you. Oh, I almost forgot today was Palm Sunday and walked into the church. There was a farm on the lawn. There was a donkey go a couple other animals and baby goats. I got the pet a baby goat, she was so soft and sweet. I had never touched the baby goat before. When I touched the baby goat, I knew that I had to have another little animal in my life. Thank you for sharing your and your life with us. I would love to see you post a couple of times a week, at least., Because I enjoy seeing you, and listening to you talk. Wishing you a blessed Easter. Sandy from Cincinnati.
Sandy, you are a sweet and gentle soul. I'm sorry for all of your losses. I think a young cat would be perfect for you! Wow, farm animals at church, sounds fun! More videos are coming my friend. Love to you!!
Give them hairball goo. I was a vet tech. It will help it them pass it with the hair they get while grooming 😊. Im just getting back into crocheting. Im going to try some new stitches beside granny squares i have always done with the holes ,for a change. I just ordered myself some hooks. Then off to shop for yarn. 😊
Come to think of it I don't think I follow any pattern...Kind of like the granny square, I just have it memorized! I will do a video on the corner to corner square, soon.
@gladysrobinson5624 Gladys here and I would love to buy some of your variegated yarn, that is if I could please?? So far I have made 25 squares so far. Love these. Gladys
