I love the way Sierra portrayed Ariel. It's like Ariel from the movie stepped out and acted on stage!

I doubt there is one. Many productions film a few songs like this for publicity of the show. Rare they film the entire thing with multiple cameras unless they actually plan to release it, like Hamilton. If Disney did film this entire production it would have been made available to buy already. Most shows that film the production professionally do it because they know it will close and use the filmed version to make back money (and of course preserve something they’re proud of)

@Heather Richards yes, as I said, they film clips of scenes. Not the entire show. Filming the entire show like this is expensive. If they don’t plan to release it, there’s no point. This was done for commercials and promotions
They can't release it, its for archive purposes so they can't release the whole thing in its entirety
I played Ariel this summer, and Sierra’s performance was such an inspiration!! This song was always one of my favorites to perform, and the chemistry between Ariel and Eric in this moment is truly so special!!

Such a romantic number! The 2017 touring cast did a rendition of this dance that I'll always remember. 0:50 They were doing separate dances near each other, lightly twirling about, and on the exact note the music changes to a waltz and that slow trill begins, as they are facing away from one another, they reach a hand up in the air toward one another and make accidental contact. But this time, they don't pull back, and as the slow trill plays, they slowly turn toward one another with their hands still touching in the air, then they come together and it goes from there. It took me back 25 years in an instant, like the first time holding a girl's hand again. I'll always remember that, and I hope to see another cast perform it in this way.

I listen to the film's soundtrack very often and yes, a lot of the music they used for the musical was based on what was in the film. You guys should go check it out!

I watched the movie today and the part where the sailors are playing music at Eric's party on the ship when Ariel is watching came on and I was like "OMG!! ONE STEP CLOSER!!" They used the music from the movie for the song! I thought that was pretty cool! Go watch it and you'll see what I mean! :D
