Agree; other performances sound too artsy-ified, more concerned with being a pretty-pretty ballad than sounding like it's actually the character singing and them thus being fleshed out into an actual person.+ I personally dislike that kind of singing, but also it's distracting from the immersion of a musical story. +Kind of like how the haute couture or however it's spelled is too busy being art to actually be clothing, and is certainly not believable as something anyone *not* being paid to be on a runway would ever wear.
Omg, he’s just so natural and charming. What you’d imagine a laid-back adventure seeking prince would look like. His delivery is so effortless. I am absolutely amazed.
It's not an "I want" song but it does well to make clear how he's almost haunted by the memory of her voice (but not in a negative way, more like a life-changing sort of way) and wants to experience hearing it again. It's especially satisfying from a storytelling-pov how they tied in this newer song for him to the original (Disney) plot point of him literally being enchanted by the same sirenesque voice, as Ursula uses it as her weapon of choice to bespell him. Cruel irony that she used the thing that sparked Eric's connection to Ariel against them both.
It's amazing how many high school productions of this song always fall flat below the melody. Every single one. This is honestly a breath of fresh air.
Umm. They are high school productions. Makes sense to me. It’s also a hard song that sits in a weird tessitura for many changing voices in that high school age. He’s a pro. Of course it sounds good
Can we take a moment to appreciate the storytelling detail of Eric first viewing Ariel with the sun behind her, which later helps create in him the subconscious confusion about her identity that Ursula-as-Vanessa took advantage of?
As much as I enjoy musical theatre, it’s ridiculous to think that ordinary people walk down the street, or are any public place and suddenly break into song and/or dance to convey a situation, be it good or bad. But strange as it sounds, Graham’s voice and demeanor makes me think of a young man who is actually somewhere, alone, composing this song to a girl with whom he’s suddenly become smitten. He isn’t performing on a stage-- he’s simply singing to his own heart. Ridiculous? It may be--but I believe him. Well done, Graham. ❤
I still can’t believe he can sing! Wow! He is amazing! First saw him in The Good Wife. He played Zach. I wish they had included this song in the live action movie.
I knew him as the first live-action Ben Tennyson in Ben 10 Race Against Time, and Evan Baxter's second-oldest son in Evan Almighty. Recently, he was Harry Osborn/Venom in Marvell's Spider-Man 2.
This is so charming. I wish so much they would have just produced the entire show broadway style like this, and not alternated it with scenes from the movie. This show had so much potential to be one of the most magical productions ever, but when the scenes kept being cut out to watch the movie, it just seemed to interrupt too much.
PRINCE ERIC That voice I can't get it out of my head I looked everywhere, Max Where did she go? Where can she be? When will she come again Calling to me? Calling to me... Somewhere there's a girl Who's like the shimmer of the wind upon the water somewhere there's a girl Who's like the glimmer of the sunlight on the sea Somewhere there's a girl Who's like a swell of endless music Somewhere she is singing And her song is meant for me And her voice It's sweet as angels sighing And her voice It's warm as summer sky And that sound It haunts my dreams And spins me 'round Until it seems I'm flying... I can sense her laughter In the ripple of the waves against the shoreline I can see her smiling In the moonlight as it settles on the sand I can feel her waiting Just beyond the pale horizon Singing out a melody too lovely to withstand And her voice It's there as dusk is falling And her voice It's there as dawn steals by Pure and bright, it's always near All day, all night And still I hear it calling... Her voice Strange as a dream... Real as the sea... If you can hear me now Come set me free... Come set me free!
Graham Philips be a great Prince Adam/Beast in the animated/love action of Beauty and the Beast he was a handsome Eric and will be a great Taryn in the Black Cauldron and teen Hercules of Hercules he is handsome
Remember this, you guys, he starred in 13: The Musical as Evan Goldman with Brynn WIlliams, Allie Trimm (a Glinda I know), iCarly's Eric Nielsen, and believe it or not, Liz Gillies and Ariana Grande (ANOTHER GLINDA!!!)
He’s very handsome! And I like how he sings. I just love it 🥰! I don’t know about you guys but he’s very cute to me! ♥️! I wish he was my boyfriend but I don’t have any pretend boyfriends or real boyfriends anymore. He’s beautiful though. I wish I went to this show to see him in person. But instead I just watched it on TV instead of going there.
Eric always thinks about ariels voice for the rest of his whole life because he first heard ariels voice after ariel saved him from the shipwreck explosion that was struck by lightning and thunder
He’s good, don’t get me wrong he’s incredibly good, but he’s not how I pictured Prince Eric would look like in real life. But still, his acting and singing are effortless, so I’ll give him that.
I like his performance. Compared to other versions by other performers, Graham's approach is relaxed and not overly expressive.

Hes a cutie and a great singer!!! He was a perfect fit for Prince Eric!
I hope that they include this song in the upcoming Little Mermaid movie. It's one of my favorite songs from the Broadway musical.
I’m sorry, it’s not in it
@@animation1300 I know it's not 😢
i hoped they would too :/
I'm so annoyed they created a new song and didn't include this one
@@kawaiisis86 created two new ones. And the broadway songs were so much better
I loved this song too but I will say that wild uncharted waters was also beautiful and fit the live action well

This guy. He is the actor of Ben 10 Race Against time. he is my childhood.
It is January 18th, 2020, and I am still OBSESSED with this song, as well as "Fathoms Below" - I can't stop listening to them.
I saw him first. Wanna scrap sis?

Yes. He has the whimsical, joyful soul to it. Dreamy eyes too. Such an amazing performance.
Very good voice and the way of singing is very relaxing. Any one can listen this song and become calm.
Giving Price Eric a personality was the best part of this musical.
If only he had a song in the original movie
He really is a prince
Thanks for the video 😊
So surreal seeing him all grown up, I recognize him as Ben 10 in Race against time.
This is so enchanting. I can't take it.
This is so beautiful! Such a gorgeous re-production of an iconic scene from TLM broadway original.

Didn’t know he could sing 😭💙
he was on broadway with ariana grande and liz gillies in 2007
Me either
I really hate this song for how every phrase resolves in a way that ruins the build up, but this is the best performance of this I've seen.

Why didn't this cast of little mermaid get in live movie 2023 🤷🏾♂️
Anyone know how to make this rock platform?

queen latifah did a great job as Ursula though! and john stamos looked like he had fun as the cook, he did a good job too.
I have to agree. The best singing on the program.
Too bad this eric didn't have black hair but at least he got his own song in the musical version
