    I'm so annoyed this passed me by in my Amiga days. I had no idea the music i was buying and raving to could be made on an Amiga! I was 15 in 1995, and to think if just one person had shown me this software back then...

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah I'm not sure that many did know about it. I got started when I was 14 by accidentally stumbling across MED on a neighbour's magazine cover disk, then really getting into it (and I was pretty off grid, not knowing anybody else into it!). There was a eureka moment of what I was listening to was achievable using this, which was cool!

      @@RaveyStabs I got it free on an Amiga Format cover disc. Great times playing with it on my Amiga 600 :)

      @@andrewyoung2415 Same, although i had been using Protracker up until I got OctaMED 2.0 from a magazine cover disk.

    Sooooo sick!!! Seems like all the new software and the latest hardware, people just can’t produce happy hardcore from the 90s! Wish this style of hardcore was still going!

    Is that sound quality possible with an amiga 500?
    I´d like to do some oldschool stuff with it but don´t know exactly how to...
    Especially when it comes to sampling.
    Can I only sample directly into the computer, or as well import and convert samples made with my akai-sampler?

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MenschMaschine - Yes this quality is achievable on a500. Samples are 8 bit iff and wav to iff converter apps exist on the amiga and PC (if you can get the akai to wav). My amiga is not far from working again so planning to do a video with the sampler and MIDI interfaces

      @@RaveyStabs First thanks a lot for the quick answer.
      Actually I started making "music" on a C64, played guitar and drums for years and later started more or less serious productions on Fruity Loops for a decade. Now I prefer Reason (because of better Midi-capabilities, got a shit load of hardware) and i love Renoise.
      But last year a friend of mine gave me an amiga500 ( otherwise it would have been ended in the trash....).
      I just have to fix a cable to run it.
      But I really need to know how to handle the sample stuff and where to get the software.
      Best regards from Germany :)

    What we talking here, bout 1995?

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep sure that was the year, was 17 then, and one of the stabs is from Marc Smith Pump Up The Noize, and Oasis Roll With It at the end, both from that year!

    • @AngryBulldogg
      @AngryBulldogg 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RaveyStabs ha yea sounds very 95. Amazing when we get to see the capabilities of the amiga in contrast to what me n the older brother used to use it for.... Cannon fodder, sensible soccer, premier manager. The things id do for an amiga 1200 with working mouse and the original settlers on 3 1/2" floppy haha

    • @RaveyStabs
      @RaveyStabs  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heh had all those games too. What got me into music was getting MED on a demo disk with Old McDonald Had a Farm demo song and figuring out what was going on, realising how accessible it was. Got the rave demos, CU Amiga cover disks came with decent 303/909 sounds, got the sampler adapter, collected/ripped samples from other tracks and was hooked! Only 4 channels, but you made it work and couldn't afford anything else!
