    The first half of the XX century has been a constant series of wars and fights in China, from the Boxer Rebellion to the fall of the Empire, to a period of Warlords overlapping with the World Wars and then a Civil War, with even the Korean war happening close to its borders in the early '50s.
    Not so many focus on how China had to essentially fight an internal war for nearly 40 years, although it is something pretty common within Chinese history, which does see history of a repeating cycle.

    Fun fact: the second last audio clip played in this video is from the 1968 meeting of the peoples party congress. The person speaking is Mao, he says: "As to the words proposed by Lin Biao, do you all agree? If you agree raise your hand." In this meeting, Mao decided that Lin Biao would be his successor after his death. Lin Biao then died in a helicopter accident in 1971.
    Edit: To add onto Lin Biao's death, I thank the reply made by LadaSoda Explains. He died in a plane accident and not a helicopter accident, at the time he was riding in a Hawker Siddeley Trident. However it is not certain that his death was on purpose, but it is considered likely.

      I'm afraid I'm not very well-versed on the chinese civil war, but did the communists genocide the nationalists, or did most of them just escape to Taiwan?
      The way the map shows, they kind of just broke up into pockets and became communist with Taiwan just watching off to the side.

    • @feckusmaximus3234
      @feckusmaximus3234 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @@iamwhoimnotimnotwhoiam4431 The Communists certainly had little mercy for Nationalists (lots of _reeducation_ if not just a firing squad), but millions (especially higher-ups) did manage to escape to Taiwan. A vast number of lower-ranking Nationalist soldiers also defected to the Communists over the course of war. Overall, it's thought about 1.5 million Nationalists died in the war, with many more wounded. Given the sheer numbers involved in the Chinese Civil War, I wouldn't describe this is as a genocide or anything similar - it was just crushing defeat after defeat for the KMT.

    • @CoreRealm
      @CoreRealm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      It's quite difficult, but here's how
      Go to google map, use snipping tools to make an image from your screen (make sure the aspect ratio is not a mess)
      Once you're done with the image, open a paint application (it can be anything as long as you know how to use it well)
      import the image you've just made, add another layer
      Then Outline the country you're targeting (if the border is already there, still outline it and fill in with paint bucket, but if the border is nonexistent, then it's pretty Challenging, because you have to memories the border shape and make sure to not mess it up)
      paint the attacking faction "red" And defending faction "blue"
      After that, make the layer transparent (it is recommended to not go way below 50%)
      The rest is up to you, but make sure to also research the targeting countries by their power and geography (it's necessary to be realistic with it)
      or if you want a historical conflict, research
      And then edit videos on your editing software
      Make sure every frame aren't too long, shorten them if you want a to look smooth
      And done

      Besides, RKMT was also internally divided by various politicians, although most of them still served KMT, they fought against eachother as well (aka Central Plain war), this brought further instability and disfavour from the people and causing them to unable resist Japanese invasion during the first two years of war

At this point, we should have learnt that we, as normal people, have no issues with each other. It's only old, rich people seeking to get richer at our expense (and lives) that cause the problem.

      In fact, many generals and leaders of the Communist Party of China held positions or studied in the Whampoa Military Academy under Chiang Kai-shek, for example, Zhou Enlai was the director of the Political department of the Whampoa Military Academy during the first period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. The Whampoa Military Academy has trained a large number of military talents for China. During the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, many Communists went to school there and learned military skills. Similarly, during the Civil War, many cadets of the Whampoa Military Academy chose to join the Communist Party after graduation. Therefore, it is not surprising that many Communist Party members were former students or cadres of the Whampoa Military Academy.

      Actually according to Chinese history textbooks, there was some KMT force entered Indo-China (Burma, Laos, Vietman and even part of Thailand) and the number might be up to 40,000 after KMT major loss in Mainland battlefields. Some of these remaining forces returned to Taiwan region and the rest stayed to be locals. Some guesses suggest that a considerable force entered Golden-trianle region (border of Burma, Laos and Thailand)and became professional drug manufacturer.
