I don't know if I'm alone in this but I saw the film once as a kid and thought i imagined it 🤣 who knew it was real??. I just watched it again the other day for the first time as an adult. I can honestly say I love it. It's funny, quirky and fun. I still find it funny that I thought I imagined this 😆

Yes! I remember thinking "How do I ask about a movie, with a woman with and a giant hole in her stomach, who can't die." - such an awesome and fun film and happy I found it :)
I remember my grandfather letting me watch this around the age of 7-8 and it scared me so bad, I blocked it out. Now it's years later and TH-cam put the trailer in my recommendations, so let's see if it's as scary as I remember.

Saw this movie as a child, I think this movie is the reason I find immortal youth so horrifying. Imagine you live forever, even if you get shot in the torso and there's a huge hole, you just gotta live with any deformities.

I just showed it to my husband a few weeks ago and I thought he'd hate it because it was from my childhood and I was a little worried I'd hate it as an adult but nope we cracked up and it's actually funnier!
its very good till the point Meryl Streep is murdered. One of more unique and funny movies I saw. But thereafter it kind of loses the plot and becomes a unfunny loud comedy. Had the movie maintained the wit and wicked humor of its first half it would been an all time classic. Still one good movie to watch for its uniqueness.

The fact that this was originally going to be a Tales from the Crypt movie, the trailer uses the Tales from the Crypt theme, the title sounds like a Tales from the Crypt episode and that this movie feels more like a Tales from the Crypt story than The Frighteners and From Dusk Til Dawn which were also originally going to be Tales from the Crypt movies, makes this a fantastic trailer.
Geez my childhood is flooding back, I love any film from the 1990’s just has a certain feel to it. The music, the corny lines love it.

This movie is basically an unofficial Tales from the Crypt. At least that’s how I always saw it.
Okay, saw some scenes and characters that definitely didn't make the cut of the theatre version - who the hell was the dead old guy at the bar before Helen said "Ernest's dead, everyone's dead"?
there were a lot of reshoots. tracy ullman was the girl across the bar from bruce willis. she played his mistress in the original cut. the original screenplay's online somewhere. quite a different film.
+Daniel noland some scene are not in the DVD as well, like when Earnest put her body inside the freezer and 'Now a warning" scene by Merryl Streep

Daniel noland that was Traci Ullman standing there also .. he was supposed to end up with that character 25 years later at end of film

Being traumatized and terrified while watching something is NOT a good thing. What will you do when the things you thought were only to entertain you become reality that you will see in front of your very own eyes?
These shows and movies are preparing the masses for the real world to come and if you don’t have an anchor to keep you from destruction, it will be very difficult. Jesus is the only hope for the world to call upon in times of trouble.

I was 12 years old when this movie came out. I loved it the first time I saw it. A few years ago I found it at a yard sale for a dollar. We watch it all the time and I always wish they would add more scenes to it.
A lot of the trailer never made it to the final cut. Like him pulling madaline up the stairs..and I could never figure out why the nuns were floating.
It came out on Bluray a few yrs ago and those scenes were not even included as Delete scenes … grrr!!!
I'd buy that for a dollar.

And the supporting cast is also fantastic! The scene where the doctor examines Madeline never fails to make me laugh no matter how many times I see it.

It actually helped lay the groundwork for modern special effects, when I was a kid I watched the promo for it, made by the Tales From The Crypt guys
Just finished watching Sabrina Carpenter's "Taste" music video, and for some reason, I'm reminded of this movie that I watched as a kid. I've always thought it was a weird movie, and it has always been at the back of my head. I guess now I have to watch it as an adult.

Were this a Tales from the Crypt movie as was supposedly intended, the Crypt Keeper's opening monologue would've been something like this; "Good evening, boils and ghouls. Tonight's tale is about two feuding females who have tried everything to remain drop dead gore-geous. Hehehe. I call this bubbling cauldron concoction... Death Becomes Her!"

dnasty312 I read on IMDB in the Death Becomes Her trivia section that this was actually supposed to be a sequel to Tales from the Crypt which is why they used the theme.

Love the "Tales from the Crypt" theme in this trailer. They got their reasons, but the plot would feel right at home with the show. Not to mention, it has everything of dark comedy and satiring immortality in general.

I always mix up this one up with The Witches of Eastwick. And funny thing is these are both for adults. And my parents around this time assumed I wanted to see Roald Dahl's the Witches. Which prob scared me the most out of all 3 of these movies!

I’ve watched this movie once every year or two since I was a kid in the 90s and it NEVER gets old. Love it!
Also, what’s with all the cut scenes that got used in the trailer? In the actual film, Bruce never puts Meryl in the fridge or drags her up the stairs partly frozen and there was never a bar scene with a dead man or Goldie and Meryl outside shouting, “everbody’s dead!”. 🤔 I wanna find those extra scenes now! lol
In a deleted scene, Bruce put Meryl in the freezer to prevent her from decomposing after bringing her home from the morgue. When the servants discover this, Meryl says it's a new Swedish beauty treatment.
In the original cut, Bruce befriended a bartender played by Tracy Ullman. In the original ending, Bruce escaped to Europe with Tracy by faking his death using a dead barfly covered in a body bag. The film would then flash forward to 37 years later in Switzerland where we see Meryl and Goldie looking eternally young but incredibly bored while an elderly Bruce and Tracy are happy in old age.
Following a test screening, the ending was rewritten and reshot a couple months before the film's release, and Tracy's character got removed from the film altogether.
Co-writer David Koepp has the shooting script on his website and you will find other deleted scenes within it.
Seen that movie back then and liked it. Watched it more than once. Goldie was a piece back then.

1:17 Traci Ullman in her deleted scene. She was supposed to be in the movie toward the end.. but they changed the ending to have a darker feel.

Are there two cuts of this movie? I’ve seen it before (and loved it) and there are several scenes in this trailer that aren’t in the movie. Specifically the scene of the doctor closing Mad’s eyes when she’s passed out, the one of Mad and Hell saying “Ernest’s dead?” And the one of Mad being put in the freezer.
I would love to watch both versions and compare them! And I don’t think there’s a commentary track, but I would really love one! I just need an explanation for those floating nuns 😵💫
There's a whole bar scene with Tracey Ullman that isn't in the movie, either, but they show clips from it in the trailer. I would love to see all of the deleted scenes. I hate when they release a trailer that has clips that they cut from the movie. There's a couple in the Roger Rabbit trailer too that are cut from the movie.
