- Amazing video of Male White Rhino marking territory including a Flehmen grimace after two female White Rhino urinate on his dung pile.
A Flehmen grimace is where the male Rhino in this case, inhales the scent of the females urine over a gland on the upper pallet of his mouth. This is to test her readiness for mating. This is all part of Olfactory communication and the gland is called a Jacobson's organ or Vomeronasal gland.

I like the fact the birds sit on the rhinos backs. Without doubt, a very safe place to be from predators, no one is stupid enough to mess with a rhino. It’s actually rather clever. And an endless supply of food to pick from also.
