“More” is pure multiplicative and increased is additive. That’s pretty damn wild but it is their design so doubt it’s a bug… maybe an oversight not limiting it to certain main gems that need it to compete. I see that one as a staple for everything it can work with though. And when I refer to “more” as being multiplicative, that comes from prior rules in POE1 so not sure if they changed it. It also makes sense that it’s not global ofc and just that damage type of the skill.
Hey guys! Wanted to note that the build is great and is a ton of fun but one thing you should take note of is that attribute cost of gems is entirely determined by level. That means that for gems that only have marginal increases in value but insane jumps in attribute cost (like conductivity which only increases 1% lightning shred every 6 levels while jumping up 5-6 int points each) it's often not worth it to level your spirit gems. Please note this: A LOT OF THE TIME IT IS NOT WORTH IT TO LEVEL YOUR SPIRIT GEMS. You will find yourself hunting for stats on your gear that just rocket the exalt price up when you're also looking to cap resistances. The minimum levels for cast on shock and conductivity are all you need. A moderate level on Herald of Thunder that matches your gear is all you need. This will keep your attribute reqs low and allow you to dump all your attribute nodes into strength so you can hunt good gear with good resistances instead of dumping exalts into expensive jewelry that only gives you 2% power increases. Happy witch hunting!

its not a bug it raises the maximum base physical damage( the higher physical number on your weapon) before the conversion. similar to ryslathas coil from poe1
@@SuperCatacata All damage multiplier supports contain downside or condition. No exceptions. All conditions are somehow related to tags or weapon types. 'Heft' doesn't have a tag, while other physical supports have one - this is a developer error. And that's why it works for all damage.
@@kamisori13there is a support gem that increases elemental damage without downside. This could be for physical damage. Besides, most elemental skills says that it converts a percentage of physical damage into that certain element damage and thats why this gem stacks with elemental skills.
I think the reason that gem works before conversion is because it applies like a weapon mod. Weapons have two layers of buffs, one that affects the base damage, and one that affects the overall skill used with it. I believe this is marked (on weapons at least) by the 'with attacks' phrasing. Also because it only increases max damage, it's only a 15% overall increase from 30% to max, but it help land HP based ailments like shock.
hey again m8, i tested out a new gems for boss fights, plasma blast - conduit / mobility / bulls eye / scatters shot , as you know when charging it takes 4 sec and we move too slow but dmg is reletivly high and shocks even conduits directly cuz high ammount of electric damage direct hit +skill has %30 more shock stat and i dont know why but when using scatters shot shots misses most of the time, but now thx to mobility (with boots at least around %25 move speed) we move fast when charging and mostly mobs attacks range cant reach u when u back paddle, same for the bosses if u circle around them (mostly) and thx to bulls eye shots dosent miss + conduit gem gives %100 more shock chance so we can electrocution again and do our dmg without suffering with galvanic shots, btw every lvl on plasma blast dmg ramp up big time
Yeah but he said that is poe(1) method. In poe2 he said it should be calculated AFTER conversions. So that support gem shouldn't be increasing the damage.
btw there is an option in the game's interface exclusive for widescreen monitors that center the UI for HP and MANA called "Centered UI" that should make it easier on you to check your stats. (I couldn't see if it was actually good cause I dont have a widescreen)
It's because the skill might be a "Physical spell" so what that means is Phys% Increase gems apply the increase to the base damage before conversion. An easy way of understanding this is if you understand why people get +Phys% on Weapons before converting to Elemental attacks... It works the same as the weapon.

In still going through cruel, but im doing this build as a gemling merc and crushing. Dont even have electrocute yet either. If you have a good xbow with lots of phys damage you’ll melt stuff. And with adaptive ascendancy you can stack strength for more life than witch hunter. Witch hunter ascendancy are more damage focused though, so maybe thinking about specing more damage nodes or nodes that give %damage per x strength
I have it too and I believe in act 1-3 it has the biggest dmg of base crossbows, so the enhanced version would also have the highest dmg in the game from crossbows
If it's a bug , the only possible reason would be that conversion is applied at the very last end. Phys increase would work, then the conversion apply after heft application.

Well ggg said that only the final damage type can be scaled now. This gem is still increasing damage of a converted skill.
