What's up Mr Jeff this Richard Timberlake looking forward for the 2025 season I didn't know that there putting different strands of striper in cape fear river but ill be at weldon first 2 week of April If the river ant two high but ill be there
They didn't exactly just transplant fish. They got fish from the Cooper river and spawned them at the hatchery in Pender County and raised them in the hatchery ponds then stocked those into the cape fear. They are saying that they are more hardy. But in the end they still won't spawn that great in the cape fear from talking with biologists I know because of the water flow issues with that river. They are supposed to be stocking 800,000 this year alone in the roanoke as well but they are spawned from roanoke genetics
So recreational fishermen can actually keep fish they catch in SC. In NC you are limited to a single fish 0-2 days a year for stripers and 0-14 days for flounder. Yet NC is importing hundreds of thousands of fish from SC. It seems NC should be importing the people managing the fisheries in SC.
@@gdpurdy I agree. Putting a different "Strain" of Stripers in these waters seems desperate. Who paid for this import of Stripers. And how much did it cost? They didn't post that Part.

@@whistleemupfishing9573 I guess it will take 5 years to see any difference.
