The firearms that Husqvarna manufacturerd was for the most part built on license. They were a major supplier to Swedish Armed Forces. Though they spun off firearms division in the early 1970's, they still had a custom shop making high end shotguns until the late 1980's. They also supplied the military with motorcycles. The motorcycle division was sold off to Cagiva in 1986, and is currently owned by KTM. The sewing machine business was sold off in 1997. Jonsered, which Husqvarna bought in 1979, was shut down in Sweden and Finland in 2020. The Husqvarna Group itself was bought by Electrolux in 1978, but was spun off in 2006. After the divorce from Electrolux, Husqvarna started aquiring a lot of companies like Gardena, Klippo, Zenoah, and McCulloch. Before 2006, they already owned Poulan, Weed Eater and Flymo.
The city of Huskvarna, where the company was founded is spelled with a "k", but the company with a "q". In 1906, a spelling reform of the Swedish language was implemented, to match the pronunciation better. So every word with a q, was replaced with a k. The city changed it, but not the company.

@@KainKustomGarage Beware, though I'm Swedish and thus can read sources in Swedish about the company, I might have gotten something wrong. I should add that Electrolux uses the Husqvarna brand on some of their white goods. The sewing machines are branded as Husqvarna Viking, but is owned by SVP Worldwide. In essence the Husqvarna Group owns the trademark, but licenses it to Electrolux, KTM and SVP. Another connection with KTM, was their purchase of the Husaberg motorcycle company. When Husqvarna sold off it's MC division, a number of the engineers left Husqvarna in 1988 and formed Husaberg, 150 km north of Huskvarna. Husaberg was bought by KTM in 1995 and after they bought Husqvarna Motorcycles from BMW in 2013, they decided to retire the Husaberg brand and use Husqvarna instead.

The Husqvarna motor cycles was sold to the company Pierer Mobility AG, which, among other things, makes the KTM motor cycle.
I have an old Husqvarna Microwave Oven, but Husqvarna sold all the kitchen things to Elektrolux.
Just for now I have only two saws, an old 353 and the new 562XPG. I will not mention my Stihl, because I don't like the saw. It's wrong in every way.
If you ever come to Sweden, I would recommend everyone to visit the Husqvarna Museum in, yes, the town of Husqvarna southwest of Stockholm. It is a fantastic experience.

Sweet collection! I have a few Husqvarna chainsaws and one 1320K railroad cut off saw. I have a 266xp from Tomos Slavaina Yugoslavia that is a badass! Husqvarna 61 three hundred year anniversary model. Husqvarna L65, I have three Jonsereds and one Jonsered M38 model that looks just like the little Skil chainsaws only its red. Two 52E and one 49 in my collection. The Husqvarna 266xp is my go to saw when it's time to boogie! Well for now anyway! But I posses a couple of Sachs-Dolmar super 120 models, And I have a Mikita Dolmar PL-7900 that needs a coil, But I hear tell it's a beast! I live in Portland Oregon area where most guys are Sthil chainsaw kind! Now don't get me wrong, I have a couple of old stihl saws, But I think they are an over priced piece of shit! And much harder to work on then a Husqvarna! Thanks for sharing your collection with us my man! I wish you lived closer to me, I think we would hit it off good! I rarely see anyone with a passion for these damn saws anymore! And I get asked all the time why I see the need to own 70 chainsaws? And of course you know that if you have to explain the reason that they are just not going to get on board that train with us anyway!Huh?☺

The 266 series was still being manufactured into the early 2020s, for the overseas market-not North America. At the time it was the longest running model of chainsaw.
The 272 is still being manufactured as of this date, again not available in North America.
As of this date the 2 series Husqvarna is still alive and well.
