    Thanks! I just got a tmaxx after not having any r/c cars for about 10 years. You made the steps easy to follow and with simple inexpensive tools! Bravo!

      @@dmanssawclub8867 NICE! Be sure to check out my new T-Maxx series that I"m working on now (latest videos and not done yet as of this post). It is of the T-Maxx 2.5. Some things are a little different, but I go into much more detail in the new videos. Have fun with that truck!

    I use 80 weight with the two hole inserts. The shocks are set in the middle of the tower and A arms. It seems to work great for jumping and bashing.

      Not a problem. I'm in the process of doing an updated series right now and will be covering the suspension setup there as well.

  • @christiangruhn7365

    Lets not forget that if you want to adjust ride-height without affecting the preload you can also move the shocks in and out slightly with the different holes on the shock towers and the A-arms. I moved the ones on my truck all the way out to help minimize chassis roll in the corners. It also firms up the suspension just a bit by giving the shocks better mechanical advantage. Next is some 40 weight or heavier oil to ride the truck of that awful chassis slap when landing on concrete. :)

    A most helpful video just got a T-Maxx and I'm dying to drive it but, I want to set up all the suspension to handle the upgraded engine that the gentleman I got it from put in it.

      Thank you for the comment. I'm guessing they put a 3.3 in it? If so, just make sure it is handling the way you want and maybe get some stiffer springs or thicker shock oil to help it handle a little better. They are definitely fun! I'm getting ready to start a new series on these things here very soon. Should be a lot of fun! www.Rc-Help.com

    So true, but so long as you are braking either just after or lightly during a corner you can get them to turn tighter. Very hard to keep them stable though. And the planetery diffs that are not so limited slip really make it drift like a fat pig sliding down a muddy hill. It just kind of spins in circles and squeals. :)
    But it is pretty cool to go fast as heck, jump stuff, and climb things. Fun little truck.

  • @madmatt41187
    @madmatt41187 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    True, but i havent noticed any bouncing but i did put progressive springs on one shock on each tower, which I failed to menthion earlier. The one thing I did notice was if you bring the camber screws in all the way it will cause it to be impossible to turn. So it is important to back them off just enough so that the truck will turn with ease. nice vids though lots of info no bs.

    You did mention it for a bit at the end. My bad for not waiting till the absolute end to post the comment, whoops. :)
    When I set up mine I also tried to get the rear suspension preload slightly higher with the front slightly softer. I also tried to get a good amount of camber upfront. I am trying to give it more of an oversteer tendency instead of a boring understeer tendency. I realized quickly realized that this machine has a rather large turning circle out of the box.

      Steering on these has always been an issue. Get a good high torque servo for the steering. Warning, they are not cheap.

    I have a traxxas t-maxx. I was thinking about converting to electic, but I would rather buy another traxxas and use the tmax as parts for the new traxxas. Which traxxas would be best for using the parts for. Keep in mind that I upgraded the t-maxx to the max, so there's a lot of good parts. Can anyone out there please give me there suggestions. Thanks.

    I accidentally bought a 4907 body shell for my 4909, would it be worth me switching to the extended chassis?
    I could probably get all the parts needed for $50-$60.

      without further information, I suspect your turnbuckles are on the wrong side of the steering knuckle. take them off and put them on the other side and it should stop.

    dont you have to square one side first with the chassis

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since the frame is technically square (same width diff's, same arms on all 4 corners), the way I set the wheels straight will be almost perfect. I say almost because there is still a little wiggle room for the rubber tire. But, putting a straight edge on the front tire and swinging it to the rear, and getting both sidewalls on the rear to touch, you know it is set to 0º of toe for that side. If you do this to the other side, then you will have a truck that tracks straight as an arrow. You can also do the same for the front in the same manner, just keep your Tx on and your servo centered. Hope this helps. www.Rc-Help.com

      RcHelpDotCom so you say when you buy parts for it dont buy 1/8 but 1/10 scale parts because when i bought me one i thought it is a 1/8 scale and thit buy parts for a 1/8 😂😂😂
