The EZ start can light the glow plug up just as hot as an igniter. The problem is, there is a few places where it can get corrosion, or old fuel around the contact point can be problematic for the connection. Btw we both live in Idaho
Good video. But I disagree on ditching the EZ Start glow plug wire. I have a Revo 3.3 and don’t have any problems with it. Other than my starter motor burning out. I even upgraded my starter wand to use a 2S lipo battery
I’m up in north Idaho and I have a tmaxx so same truck, same state, and same area of the same state, we should hang out where you at couer de lane, Kellogg, pinehurst, post falls? Where you at cuz we now friends
Hey the reason youre blowing so many Glow plugs is because you ran VP fuel without richening the fuel mixture. The traxxas top fuel has much more oil than the VP. In the long run, youll foul out way more traxxas glowplugs with that type of fuel, and the OS ones will foul too, but they'll last longer. Your engine appears to be running a little lean btw. Avoid tuning the carburetor a lot. Try not to make large adjustments where you have to unscrew and rescrew the needles, the carb is very fragile and gets damaged easily by this. Its better to leave these traxxas carburetors Alone for the most part and use traxxas fuel, and leave the idle reasonably high to compensate for the rich fuel mixture going in. Since youve already run it this way for a while i recommend just seeing how long it lasts, then buying a New, non traxxas engine with a base tune carb
Yo dude, I'm getting a lot of interference with my stock radio and receiver. I don't know what you have, but what do you recommend I should switch to? My Hobby shop guy isn't that great and just knows to sell me what's in his shop.
I'm running a Spektrum system in my fleet. Dx5c radio and a variety of different receivers. I've never had any interference with that system. If you want a budget system, I'd recommend the Dumbo Rc Radio system. The transmitter is affordable, the receivers are cheap, and they are famous for having excellent range.
Wow I've been using 10 percent fuel for over 30 years and not had a problem maybe that's the issue...... but I know you guys want to go as fast as you can
Hardened spur gear, Billet transmission case. Steel gears and a reverse delete are mandatory in my book. As well as billet front and rear diff housings. Just from my experience.
Modify your ez start to accept a lipo, no need for a seperate ignitor. Traxxas fuel is garbage and you replaced the cooling tower, not the head. Idle is too high and I never heard it hit 2nd gear, that is adjustable too.
he replaced the cooling head. theres no such thing as a cooling tower.. there isnt any modification needed to use a lipo battery in the wand.. you just plug the dam battery in the wand..

@@TheHobbyistRcit’s not getting up to a high enough rpm to shift gears.. lean it out. Especially if ur running under 20 fuel. When it does wheelies instantly when u feather the throttle then it’s good. Your runnin rich

Do you have a link to buy the Losi carb?
@@kevinduong7674 you dont need a link. he told ya what it is.. losi 3.4 is the engine.. i dont even think they make it anymore..
So to summarize. Use good fuel, get a good cooling head and get a glow plug and igniter
I just started my Revo 3.3 after 10 years of not running with 8 year old fuel and it rips!
Literlly did the same with my t max just sprayed some wd40 down the guts and she fired up
Same
The EZ start can light the glow plug up just as hot as an igniter. The problem is, there is a few places where it can get corrosion, or old fuel around the contact point can be problematic for the connection. Btw we both live in Idaho
i switched to the VP fuel as well and the truck seems to be running better
OS plugs, yes.
Different glow igniter, not needed with the OS plug.
Less oil, no. The traxxas motors love extra oil.
Also your idle is super high
Seems like some good info. Thanks for sharing.

near cda
Near sandpoint..just picked up an old revo 2.5..need to do a N Idaho rip! I normally fly planes..but this nitro car is pretty fun.
Helpful tip your idle is way to high.
What tires are you running on your Revo?
Os11k carb and aftermarket rod
And ditch the electric start and ez wand system
I think you meant the glow plug is an LC3, not "ic3". You can also use the OS LC4 glow plugs. It's more of a medium heat range.
Alot of the other fuels have 12-14%oil that's to much.I been useing vp fuel big difference with that fuel

did you mean lc3 glow plug? there is no ic3
Thanks for the info. what did you do with the blue plug wire? Just snip it? Or tuck it away somewhere
I just tucked it away from anything that got hot.
What's the tune for your bc my dad's keeps dying when it's idle
I think that you ment the head would fit the 2.5 and 2.5r. If its for a 2.5 it wouldn't fit the 3.3
What kind of remote did you use? I have a T maxx nitro and need the remote that controls the 2WD & 4WD
I use a Spektrum DX5C.
there isnt 2wd and 4wd gears in a tmaxx lol... its 4wd all the time. the only time you need a 3 channel is for forward and reverse tranny..
Can I use this long plug with a stock head?
