    I started my tennis elbow yesterday. I didn’t know I had tennis elbow but I woke up at midnight with a lot of pain. I started googling and realized it’s tennis elbow. All the medical websites said it would take 6 months to 2 years to heal. My heart was broken when I read this. Stumbled across this video and my pain is literally going away with these exercises. And I’m convinced this is the way to heal my elbow quicker than 6 months. I just have to keep at it. You have cured my broken heart. You guys are my hero’s! I couldn’t thank you guys enough!!!
    I hope the best for Bob and his condition! I’m sorry to hear that.

    I don’t even own a tennis racquet. Diagnosed yesterday by my orthopedic doc. Weakness and pain. There is an immunotherapy for about $500, which centrifuges your blood and puts your platelets back in which has some healing effect. Steroids apparently make it worse over time. You are not only the most famous physical therapists on the Internet, you are the only “Bob and Brad” I know. Liked, subbed. Thank you!

  • @michaelbarry7695
    @michaelbarry7695 4 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    Thank you Bob & Brad!!! You saved me from having another surgery. 9 years ago I had surgery on my right arm for tennis elbow. That was after 1 year of therapy and steroid injections. Nothing worked but the surgery solved my problem. 4 months ago I could tell that the tendon in my left elbow was tearing. I tried numerous therapies that I found on TH-cam as well as anti-inflammatory medication and icing, but the pain in my elbow continued to worsen. When I would wake up in the morning the pain was especially bad. After watching this video, I tried using the elbow strap and the 2 exercises mentioned at 8:00 and then 8:26. Problem solved!! Finally!! I would do each exercise 3x a day for 10 repetitions each. For the exercise at 8:26 I would 10 reps with my wrist turned in, and 10 reps with my wrist turned out. I also did some cross-friction massage, but not as religiously as these exercises. It has taken about 4 weeks of doing these exercises and I have now begun to resume my prior activities, like lifting weights. I still wear the elbow brace when doing strenuous things like lifting furniture, heavy yard work, or when I lift weights. I hope people are able to have similar results.

    • @muchohandlesg2124

      But does it solve the problem ?? I’ve been deali by with this for atleast a year and a half and I’m 18 and I wanna workout but I can’t this is super annoying I can bearly go asleep I don’t have allot of pain but it’s really irritating and it clicks every time I bend it on both elbows

    • @upsidedown1415
      @upsidedown1415 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@muchohandlesg2124 You have to take rest and commit to this for 4 weeks atleast. I know how annoying it is not being able to workout but you'll only make it worse, and make it chronic. Find alternate things in your workout that doesn't stress your elbow. I've had it for a year and I wish I'd taken proper care and rest when I first got it.

      Please, did the surgery solved the Tennis Elbow problem 100% and forever? My doctor says that it's useless to do that surgery, because sooner or later, the Tennis Elbow issue will rise again, Did your surgery succeded to solve the pronlem forever? Thanks

    • @michaelbarry7695
      @michaelbarry7695 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@greekveteran2715 Hello. Yes, I had my original surgery back in 2011 on my right elbow and I have never had tennis elbow problems with it again. So almost 11 years later and the elbow is fine. If the tendon is damaged enough I don't know if therapy alone can return a person's elbow to normalcy. Steroid injections I think are just a waste of time that delay the inevitable. From my perspective, if you catch the problem early enough and regularly do the PT then you can heal the tendon and avoid surgery. But if the tendon is significantly compromised then surgery is the answer. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    My tennis elbow was so extreme that in my sleep I would be startled awake by what felt like a knitting needle stabbing me in the elbow. Medical advice at the time was to rest the affected arm but we all know that is not always possible so I started to give some thought on how I could help myself. Looking back on activities that aggravated my injury it was obvious that pain developed whenever I worked an object with closed hand and cocked elbow so I thought I'd try exercises using movements opposite to those that created the injury. This involved fully extended my arm horizontally, bending my hand upward and spreading my fingers as wide as I could, then move my arm in small circular motions clockwise then anticlockwise or vice-versa. Circular sweeps and hand movements grow larger as pain decreases and flexibility returns to your limbs. Initially I would perform this action whenever I felt pain or discomfort and early on it was uncomfortable but over time it became a preventative routine and now I can declare my tennis elbow is no more than a bad memory.

    • @sportsfanivosevic9885
      @sportsfanivosevic9885 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's difficult for me to recall as my injury was 20 years ago and I was obviously younger then but in most cases the time to recovery will vary with the individual, frequency of the exercise and whether you can ease up on the actions that produced the problem. So to avoid misleading you, I would suggest trying the exercise for a month to see if you get any benefit.
