I wouldn’t have been a fan of how he said he wouldn’t mind having 4 wives if he was rich. I get that’s allowed in his religion but seems like he’s pondering the possibility? It would just hurt my feelings personally.

The 4 wives thing is largely misunderstood. It makes more sense given the context. That context was a period of tragedy in Islam after the battle of Uhud, when dozens of men from the still formative Muslim community in Medina were killed in one day. Numerous women and children were left without support. To deal with this problem, Allah revealed the verse permitting men to be polygamous. This would allow men to have multiple wives so that they would not be left to be widows. (Women during this time period were not as independent as they are today). Additionally, you are supposed to be able to take care of/love all the 4 wives equally.
In conclusion, even if it is technically permissible, we are not living in war times and women no longer need a man to function in today’s society so Mohammed (in the show) is just a zealot who twists the verses in the Quran to suit his own misogynistic views.

I am disturbed by the very low value in which Ashley holds to her Roman Catholic faith. She meets a guy online, three months later she goes to meet up with him in person and a week later she's ready to get married and give serious consideration to converting to the Muslim faith?? Excuse me ?!?!?? Faith is a commitment, a living, breathing thing. It should never, ever be just the expedient thing to do to get what you want. Did Ashley's sister call Mohamed a terr0ri$t? Maybe yes, maybe no, we don't always guard our words as we should and sometimes we blurt out intemperate and hurtful sentiment. I personally thought it was manipulative and gross of Ashley to wear the robe and hijab to her anniversary picnic date with Mohamed. It was sleight of hand trickery to give him the idea that she was getting closer to the idea of living her life as a Muslim when in actuality it was just a deliberate ploy to get what she wanted.
Mohamed doesn't get off the hook here either. Fact is that it was Saudis who planned and executed the attacks on New York and Washington in September of 2001, and to this day American flags are being burned, spat on and debased on college campuses, rallies and protest marches. Perhaps not fair but it does put a bigger burden on more temperate and moderate members of the Muslim faith to distance themselves from that type of rhetoric. His brother is a problem. A huge problem. Who does he think he is that he thinks he has anything to say over the way Ashley dresses or conducts herself? What kind of religious gaslighting is going on here anyway when Mohamed digs his heels into the ground in resistance to his sister in law but papers over and white washes his brother's behavior toward his wife? And correct me if I'm wrong but the insult to Mohamed was to Mohamed the man who married her sister, it was not to Mohammed the Prophet or to Allah which would have been unforgivable. Mohamed is just letting personal pride and stubbornness stand in the way of mending fences and having a relationship with his in laws. Tell you something else, if it had been me that the brother locked out of my own home because he didn't approve of what I was wearing he would have been lucky to get away with just having his Play Station smashed because hell hath no fury like the seriously p!$$ed off Portuguese housewife of a certain age. Just saying.
And finally, I'm just going to say this out loud, what happens to Rosie if things go south between Ashley and Mohamed? She wouldn't have been the first American born child to be spirited away to a fortified family compound back home so that she could be raised "the right way". Everything's all hearts, flowers, peace and good will when you're getting along, the true measure of a person and his or her capabilities can only be seen when they're not.
I left the church and married muslim. I reverted back to Islam. Sorry to tell you Jesus is not God. Why would God sacrafice his son for your sins? God doesnt need all that to forgive you! Also Muslims are taught that having many wives is a blessing you can not have another wife with out your 1st wife blessing this, if his dad had many wives he must of been a righteous dude I was raised Muslim and my dad had two wife’s; me and my siblings had a good life and it was very stable compared to the black children that lived in my community that weren’t also the father is very active wi the children . It seems belittling but it’s also a religious thing

I find this relationship wont work. First she doesnt take care of herself. Muslim men are very picky. Trust me Im white and married one for 15 years still in love everyday. To break items she will never be liked by the brother. Im not being rude but she isnt the right girl for a muslim man. The way she plays games is no good.
