Good video! Aarhus is great, especially the museums and the eateries! If you guys are into art, you should go to the ARoS museum in Aarhus some time. It’s one of Denmark’s best for classic as well as contemporary art! It’s even great for kids, because they have an area where kids have a museum worker at their disposal, who will tell them about art and help them make their own works of art. And -> one piece of art people can walk through, and that’s Olafur Eliasson’s Your rainbow panorama at the top of the building.

Salut Margaux. About 20 years ago - and it seems like yesterday - we had my daughter in the tahoes in ca at some historical village like your Ribas trip. I say this just cause you’ll turn around as I recently did on the weekend of July 31st when she turned 25, and say “Where did our lives go?” Perhaps some day I will shoot a video myself of an old castle in Nyborg, under the grey skies of automne, with la premiere feuilles mortes in that lake of swans beside the castle, and this will be my soundtrack here: th-cam.com/video/rjpA3SnwyDA/w-d-xo.html dedicated to “that French lady” and her family in Odense, who showed us Americans the exit strategy to Denmark. 🇺🇸🇫🇷

Den Gamle by. Another childhood memory. When visiting my dad apparently thought it would be free. When presented with the cost for the entire family to enter he said:
"I understand running this place cost money. But! why do you have to make an entire years profit today! And why on just me!"
Dont know what it cost now, but 20 years ago it apparently was expensive.

We do drive to Den Gamle By every year for X-mas though, just because it's so cozy there, with hot Glögg and Æbleskiver 🙂

'Wake Up' is just amazing value for the money. Spent the weekend in Copenhagen. The hotel was pretty much right next to the Central Station.. Dead center. Just had to 'crash'.. So I chose the cheapest. But it had all I needed.. For 400kr per night.

As an off line note: there are long lasting historical relations between France & Denmark, we even joined France after germany attacked us during the Napoleonic wars, so oui you can not be a stranger to us and we of course accept the French (and people from Van Pays and Belgium equally). Actually here in Copenhague we have the region of "Dragør" where the "Dutch" and Flemmish emmigrants settled back in time, smiles. 🙂

If you need a topic to talk about you could talk about how many French words actually exist in the Danish language, it would not be bragging but might take the edge of things for other possible French people that might want to move up here and educate some of us Danes too, surely we write the words a little different but the pronounciation is basically the same and French language already has the "æ, ø, å" sounds built into it so it should not be all that hard, a bit of cultural crossover that might be useful or inspirational, certainly an entertaining subject. 😉

Give your husband a fist bump from me. He's doing daddying so well.
If he just trim and keep his beard a bit it could look much more tidy and even though. Not saying he needs to lose it, it's quite amazing how it is. But keeping it a bit would make it look better to be honest.

@@AFrenchWomanLivingInDenmark My wife and I chose to bring up our kids according to the "one parent, one language" philosophy, we speak each of our native languages to our kids, and English in between us. So far we have a 6 year old that speaks 3 languages, and an 18 months old that is just getting used to language in general.
The reason we went for this strategy is that I would not like if my children didn't know how to speak with the grandparents.
There's plenty of English speaking sources on YT and others, so our daughter does this very well too. But it's kinda nice to know that she can do fluent Danish and Cantonese as well.
I love languages, and the earlier they learn, the easier it will be to pick up another, because they have a more flexible view of grammar.
Edit: of course growing up in DK our daughter is more fluent in Danish, but we've stood our ground, one parent one language.
