I got one of these about a month ago and it really is very impressive. The bass is amazing for a built-in subwoofer, dialogue is clear, and the DTS Virtual:X is actually very effective for movies or anything else that benefits from a bigger soundscape (albeit simulated). It also really doesn't look like a cheap soundbar. At all. (Bonus!) Music also sounds good on it. The only thing I've noticed is that, with the volume up, extreme low-frequency sounds such as explosions etc can cause the chassis to rattle a little bit and you can start to hear the speaker reaching its limits. For the money, however, it's excellent.
By supporting 4K Ultra HD, they mean that their HDMI ARC is able to pass through 4K and HDR content to the TV (which a lot of soundbars in this range cannot do since they don't use the latest HDMI standards).

So not all soundbars suppprt 4K/UltraHD, @KosherTech you should research these things before misleading people like that, it actually means alot.
I think for such price it sounds amazing. You can hear Thor's deep voice during the dialogue without losing any low frequency. During the fighting scene, it sounded rich with clarity. Wasn't muddy and again, it didnt lose any of the low frequency.
why is it when i use it on a LG tv its like echoing when a dialogue is being play or should i turn off the sound off the tv and depend only on the soundbar?
Just got this at Costco for $116. I have owned more expensive sound bars and this one out performs them all. I am a minimalist and dont care for soundbars that come with the seperate subwoofer. At this price point, you are not going to find a standalone that sounds better. This is my first Yahmaha product so I dont know how long they typically last. But, the sound quality is amazing. Definately exceeding my expectations.

i have now plugged in a HDMI cable from the output of the bar and that goes into the input of my plasma TV , and i can visually see as i turn volume off or down , it triggers the HDMI signal output on the soundbar, however it doesnt get translated to the TV
@@peterougra7215 I believe it would only b visible on your soundbar
@@peterougra7215 did you figured it out? Was wondering if your tv was set up with HDMI arc input. If not you only have the optical option.
Polk magnifi mini or yas 108? Thanks
Maybe polik
Great review! The surround mode sound too fake?
It's sounds artificial it's not Dolby surround.
I have a 49” tv which one should I get? For a bedroom.
How much do u want to spend?
KosherTech ideally not too much... I’d love a sonos... I checked them out in TH-cam. The playbase sounded nice, as a soundbar for tv but I dno if I’ll get it. I’m thinking a few hundred $$$ ... what do you recommend?
KosherTech also ideally something to play Bluetooth music as I have Spotify etc
U can get the Yamaha sound bar which I review. If u want extra bass u can get it with a sub. That should cost u too much $$
KosherTech thx
Hi , which one has more sound clarity ?? Yamaha 108 or bose solo 5 ?? Waiting your reply
Yamaha Yas 108.
@@KosherTech thank you 👍 so gonna order 108 😊
@@zaniina let me know how u like it.
Hi Kosher, I would like to buy a sound bar within 400$. Can you suggest one. If I order yes-108, where can I get the extra sub from ?
Hey, u can get the sub from Amazon. Also their is a version that comes with the sub, but I think that's a bit expensive.
Yas-108 with subwoofer or yas-207, which one should I buy ?
Get the one with the sub-207
SONY HT RT3 vs YAMAHA YAS 108, which one is best?
Haven't reviewed the Sony
KosherTech of course ,Yes. But, plz clear my doubt.
Lol go with the Yamaha. I really loved that soundbar it's fire for the price!
KosherTech Thank u very much
Which one did you buy
I just bought the bose tv speaker, does the yamaha sound better than bose ?
Yes much better
Does it work with battery? If it doesn’t, what sound bar do you recommend that work with battery?
It doesn't work with battery. I don't believe any sound bars work with battery.
KosherTech
Thanks for replying. I need wireless sound system because I don’t want to plug a cable in the electricity outlet. Do you have a suggestion with similar quality of sound to the Yamaha bar?
I don't my dude they all require power
is this the same as the ATS 1080?
I'm not sure about the ATS
Thanks for your very helpful video. What should i choose between yas 108 (i already had a good subwoofer) and jbl sb250. I’m a music listener :)))
Since u already have a sub for the Yas 108 go with that
@@KosherTech thank you, i'm going to get it now :)))
I finally got it after 4 days of waiting for delivery. Sound is very impressive at its price range. Clear sound, bass deep enough although without subwoofer. Love it :)))
Tuan Ngoc Nguyen is it awesome with the extra jbl sub?
Have u played the it with a seperate subwoofer? Or just the soundbar
Just the sound bar.
@@KosherTech thanks for replying!
Is the bass deep? Thumping?
Or just decent?
It seems like melodious and soothing to ears
But i would hv loved a little tight bass punch(not much)
@@vaibhavvalandikar3913 did you buy it ? How is it ?
@@sidharthk17 No,i bought the LG SL6Y.
For a stand-alone soundbar the bass is awesome, but remember the bass is always better with a sub.
Can we operate it with any mobile app?
The 109 u can not sure of the 108
This connects via Bluetooth to your phone to play music?
Yuuup
That's how I was testing it when demoing it on vid
Should the blue light be on my soundbar? Help
What going on with the soundbar?
@@KosherTech Thanx hun. I had it on the wrong setting and the blue light appeared. I hit surround and the white light came back. Thanx for willing to help me ☺
Quick question. When I turn on Netflix or Hulu my soundbar jumps back to tv, is that the norm? Or should it still be on HDMI
Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm new at this soundbar thing
@@275MsParis lol all good homie. Go to your TV settings find audio make sure u have it set to external audio now tv. Also feel free to join my discord server discord.gg/f5g7NA4
The blue light means the 3D sound mode is on (Dolby dts:x). I forget the order of the lights for the other modes but stereo is obviously stereo, the surround mode is Dolby digital.
If you can connnect the soundbar to your TV using an hdmi with arc support you’ll see all your adjustments on the tv screen.
ALSO download the app for iOS or google. Makes it very easy to use all the features! GET THE APP! (Connects via Bluetooth)
Would you recommend this over the Vizio SB3621 variations?
Haven't tested that sound bar. Can't give u an honest answer unfortunately 😔
But from the specs I would go with the Yamaha
KosherTech thanks for the quick reply.
@@Belgoboy anytime my dude, Lets me know what you are going to go with.
I appreciate your review, thanks.
Anytime thank u! The 109 review will drop this week
Is it possible usb playback ?
I haven't tested it on the soundbar
Does this have 3 channels?
Nah just 2 channel
Your pick: YAS-108 or JBL 2.1/JBL 2.1 Deep Bass?
The JBL 2.1 does come with a Sub so it won't be a fair comparison. Stand alone with now sub I'll take the Yas Yamaha
Can i connect a Harman Kardon enchant Subwoofer to Yamaha YAS 108
I'm not sure, give it a try.
Which one is the best soundbar to buy under $250 ?
U can go with this one, Vizio or the JBL if it's on sale
KosherTech what about solo 5
Hola.se aprecia algo lo envolvente o son trucos?
?
Nice review. The bass shouldn't surprise ,this SB is advertised as having built in sub woofers so you don't need an external one.
U always need an external one lol. The soundbar is BEAST!
Is 1080 better than the 108?
1080??
@@KosherTech Yamaha ats 1080?
I think it's the same sound bar.
This or the Vizio SB3820-C6B?
Send link of that bar plz
@@KosherTech thanks for your reply. i believe its the same as the one you reviewed but an older version and no sub. th-cam.com/video/kUHqfk2Yaak/w-d-xo.html
So a comparison between the yamaha YAS108 vs the vizio SB3821-C6 but w/o the sub
Get the Yamaha but get the Vizio if ur getting it with a Sub
Should I buy Yas 108 or yas207?
I haven't reviewed the 207 but I see that it comes with a Sub
@@KosherTech yes it does
Great question. Right now I'm leaning towards the yas 207 cause of its external sub. Don't know if an external sub makes the sound better.
@@l8k3r24 thanks for the reply
Do I need an HDMI cable to make it sound better ? Is plugging it to the tv not enough with what it comes with ?
HDMI or digital optical cable. Either way will sound the same

Thanks bredrin. I'll most likely get that soundbar soon.
Have you did a comparison in sound with the 108 with and without a Subwoofer ?

I haven't unfortunately
But I can tell u once u add a sub you'll get the extra BOOM!
