so i was pretty lucky because my mom was friends with these parents who had two sons that were around 7-8 years older than me and they had saved a lot of practice tests from the sat/act books from their time and scanned them into a big fat pdf (literally hundreds of pages) so i did those. the format changed between when they took it and when i took it but the general concepts were the same so i did them anyway. i don't have any clue where that pdf is anymore, but i think there's a lot of practice tests in books but also online floating in random google drives. here are a couple i found: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-3QD9VLyNXzRmCXkABYgDkGeyvzuovoI; thecollegepanda.com/resources/ (scroll down for practice act); drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tgrr2n8ZVs1iHG-hZp7PoVtXOMl25k_B; etc. However, I only ever took the paper versions of the SAT and ACT, so I know the format has changed and it might be harder to find sample shortened practice exams, but the more important part is just practicing the thought process towards getting the right answer. I hope this helps!
Those stats are phenomenal!!! Wow. I'm so sorry you struggle with mental and physical health, that must have been so challenging while being at boarding school without your family close by. Great job recovering!
you’re so amazing omg!! thank you for sharing, could i ask why you took the ACT and SAT so early? my school only administers it in junior year and i was wondering if there’s a benefit to taking it in 9/10th instead
hi, thank you! i took the SAT and ACT early because i just wanted to get it out of the way and because i already felt prepared enough to do well on them. it also leaves you with a lot of time to retake it if you're not happy with your score. that way, in junior year while you're already pretty swamped with classwork, extracurriculars, and starting the college searching & prepping process, you have one less thing to worry about.
hi grace i was wondering how you ended up being able to write articles for E magazine or if you had more insight on that. im a prospective journalism major and i want to be able to publish more of my work online and just have more to show for my portfolio / application. do you have any advice on this
i took private lessons and practiced every week :) i just didn't do orchestra after my first year. i made sure to clarify that i only did choate symphony during the 2020-2021 school year.
@@gr4cewu16 Sorry but I have another question. I was looking at the EarthTalk's website because I'm interested in blogging for the EarthTalk's Q&A column. How exactly do I get started? I've signed up for their syndication network, and got an email from them. But I don't see the questions that people wanted answered. So I'm a bit confused. If possible could you explain?
@@shashwatmishra8441 did you happen to see the editorial application on the right side of the screen? that's how i applied 1.5 years ago. i think it should be the same thing 🤞🤞
Hey, congrats on all of your acceptances! I was deferred by UPenn this ED cycle and I am also submitting a RD update email. Could you please let me know when you sent your update; would mid-January be a good time to target? Thank you so much!
Hi! I think I did mid-February just because I was waiting on some things to come out (midterm grades & fundraiser stuff), but if you think you'll have enough updates by mid-January, I would say just send it so they review it sooner than later.
How did you come across the opportunity to intern with the environmental magazine? Did you have to reach out to the journalist you wanted to work under and become their intern? Tysm for the video!
hi tiffany! i'm glad! sure, i wouldn't mind. i haven't gotten too many requests for it though, so i'll see if others want them. i will say, i don't think they were particularly amazing.
Where would you get the practice tests? Is it all from the books , ty for the video :)
