Dear Sir As per IRC Sp 55 it says the minimum longitudinal gradient of vertical profile of Main carriageway should not be less than 0.3% what is the logic behind that and how 0.3 % value derived please explane 😊😊
That is the minimum slope required in the side drain to move the water due to gravity. The same slope should be provided on the carriageway also to keep the depth of the drain same throughout the length.
