His band has always been great…great players…I wished had more success…he and them deserved it…live it always translated so much better than the albums.
Passionate vocals accompanied by TIGHT musicianship... and delivering a powerful message... I never had wealth nor have I ever had Love; so what else is left for me???
I am very happy to be on the Bottom Line record, asking the Man about his shoes. Ronnie Spector was at the bar with us. A great night, they did got dressed up then, SRO.
From Ohio first vavorite band Micheal Stanley South side Johnny number two for over 40 yrs and from being from the rock and roll capital of the world I've seen about 40 bands
Hey Steve I feel ya- After I was at Bruce's first ever concert at Madison Square Garden (of which he did get on his knees and kissed the floor) I then saw Southside and HE JAMMED I went on to see JOHNNY for every show....all up and down the east coast.
I bought every album South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes came out with when they were released, and I'm still a huge fan. I just have to say that it bugs the heII out of me that South Side was passed up by the record companies in favor of Bruce Springsteen who can't sing for shit. For all of Springsteen's skills and talents as a writer and arranger, he's just not a singer. If not for the E Street Band, Bruce wouldn't even have a career. South Side has the voice and it's so dam good it's a shame it's not heard everywhere. All these years later I still have to revisit his sound and his music, and I play it in the rotation on the CD that I burned to listen to in the car. Rock on South Side. BS may have made all the money, but you got the voice, and no one can ever take that away from you.
Just a gorgeous tune sung by the best.
Not sure how music gets much better than this.

Reminds me of the Big Bands.
Jersey has given us some great musicians, South right near the top

Except Father time...
We are blessed to have both and their incredible bands.
♥♥♥
It can get much better if the soundtrack was recorded at 432hz and not at 440hz. Cheers!
SSJ gestures like Joe Cocker!
