Love how you are pushing the limits. But nothing is better than D35 crusemaster.
This is awesome because one of the things that the fully articulating hitches tend to allow is quite a lot of side to side with road surfaces. This can begin to feel like sway and in really extreme situations can actually create sway. This solves that!
Awesome update. I was actually surprised to see that the first edition hitch wasn't made for off-roading and didn't even try. I thought that they accepted to be replaced. That's forgetting that they wanted an all USA made. Love this hitch 🎉
That new hitch is definitely changing my perception on using a ball
Now I can use this Ball hitch with my weight distribution system and have the option to go off road !

Also have been making a fully articulated ball hitch for donkeys years, offroad campers Australia sell them for under $300 and they are rated to 3.5 metric tones
Yes. This is rated for more and a larger ball

Yeah the alko do a heavy duty here in Australia been out for awhile full ball and 3.5 ton
Love it but 'everyone has one to steal the trailer also'.....A little harder to steal with a McHitch or Cruisemaster. Love the thinking to build out of the box and AMERICAN made! Wondering if they'll make one that fits as a replacement for the Cruisemaster 4 bolt etc?

I have the ARK articulating hitch so there is something similar to this on the market. No US made though. I like how this locks as my ARK doesn't. Hoping the come out with one that is lighter 2" ball. Can they be retro fitted to so one can replace thier existing hitches? Almost seems like these are designed as OEM for the Pause only.
Yes. The light duty hitches have been around. This is a 2 5/16 heavy duty and that is what makes it unique and made in the USA. I don’t think they have plans to make something smaller.
@ROAOffRoad makes since as this just doesn't look like it could be an aftermarket hitch that would retrofit other trailers. Nice to have ball hitch if you need a recovery.

Accomplishes what a lock&roll hitch/coupler will do with more steel and more weight
Lock and Roll hitches are horrible to hook up on bigger trailers. If you have a small teardrop they are okay.
@@ROAOffRoadBack up cameras are very handy when you cant move the trailer and the coupler is made of formed steel plate that when welded on to the frame stiffens the trailer frame at the tongue. But for big trucks and heavy trailers there's nothing wrong with a few more Lbs on the tongue
Not a new concept Australians have been using a similar design called a Treg hitch
That is the most complex setup I have seen get an ALCO simple to use.
Should work well on equipment trailers also.
I have two questions. How easy is this for one person to hitch? And, is weight distribution/sway control necessary for the Pause 16.4?
It’s pretty easy to hitch up by yourself if you have a camera on your truck. Weight distribution would be dependent upon your towing confidence the truck here towing with.
@ROAOffRoad I love the idea of American made, but wouldn't Mchitch be easier? I was thinking of towing with a Superduty.

so biggest draw back to that hitch, no way to lock it on the ball. aka some one comes up while you are sleeping and disco and take it.
How is this the first in the world when ark xo 3.5t hitch has been around for years. We ran one on our old camper, with plenty of off-road use here in Australia.
That is a light duty hitch. They have made for a while 2”. 😀

What's wrong with a poly block its simple no moving parts no greasing to be done can't jam up with dust or mud like a Do35 and its lite. Also not ridiculously over priced. How heavy is that thing.

I have a 19.6 Ft Next Gen caravan with cruise master country road suspension and using the Anderson no sway weight distribution from the U.S. Their would be a good market for your hitches in Australia I'm sure. I was very disappointed to find that MORryde would NOT sell me this product, at any price and any condition. seems you have to buy a 100K trailer to get their product. NOT cool for us that already have a trailer we are not ready to trade in.
This product was designed for Pause and Pause is the one that helped them to design it. It would be extremely unfair for them to sell it to you.
I wouldn't have a problem with this video if u just change the name to first in America. Or at least state the weight u can legal tow qith this so call first in the world hitch
