    New to your videos, like them very much. It was driving me crazy what you were calling your "Cowboy Wok" "Discada" "Plow disc". I finally had to google what you were saying...."SKOTTLE!" Now I know and its origins. Now I can focus.

    If you get an instant read thermometer (they are super cheap and can be purchased on Amazon) you don’t have to cut into your meat and won’t loose the juices which dries them out. Just a tip I thought I’d share. Wonderful videos!

    Just got my first skottle and I’m excited to start cooking on it. Your video was really helpful. I just wondered if it would work to replace the butter with olive oil? I’ve watched a few other videos and all are using butter, so I was just curious about oil. Thanks for helpful video and saying where to find the recipe book. Brilliant.

      You can use any type of fat you prefer to cook with. I use either butter or olive oil. I know of some people using avocado oil, vegetable oil, and even grape seed oil. When we camp during the winter I make sure to always have butter to cook with because the olive oil will separate and freeze depending on the temperature. After you are done cooking and cleaned the Skottle I spray a light coating of olive or vegetable oil on the surface and wipe off any excess. Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!

      david dominguez it depends on the thickness of the pork chops, but it’s usually somewhere around 45min. Thanks for watching!

    why can't the cookbook be downloaded as a pdf.

    • @FamilyAdventuresOverlanding
      @FamilyAdventuresOverlanding  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      cjoetter unfortunately the pdf format did not work properly and it came out as a jumbled mess. You can purchase a printed copy from Tembotusk.com or can download it on any of your devices from the links listed on their website for free. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
