    This is the only video I’ve found that addresses the first pruning after propagation. Thank you, so much!!

      I think a lot of people can get a stick to root and grow, but you must prune and shape to get a nice looking plant,, I will start working on a video that addresses this. Thanks for your comment.

    How do you overwinter your potted Crape Myrtles?

    Every cut you make will create three new branches. It's an amazing tree that grows fast. I love the sweet scent of the Natchez White. I use potting soil. Works great.

    I really want to propagate my Crepe Mertle. They're so pretty and very low maintenance which is a plus growing here in Central Florida. They withstand our weather pretty well all yr round, especially when most plants suffer in the summertime. Thanks for sharing this update. I'm going to watch some more of your videos on this. I appreciate your help and tips😉

    Thank you for this video. I have been looking to find one to know how to trim these. Mine has already grown out wide to the sides.. Is there any way to pull them back and train at least one to grow
    straight?

    Those roots are really growing fast

      Yes and that's just after 3 weeks in the pots

    Thank you for showing how to prune a crape myrtle sapling! All of the other videos just show how to prune a mature crape myrtle (not sure why there are so many...)

    Can you tie the two branches together to train them to grow up?

    Interesting. I see that you are enjoying developing these trees. As flexible as the crepe young growth, bonsai wire should easily train the branches to grow to the shape that you like. Thanks.

    Like it. Looking to grow a partial screening row of crepe myrtle in the Texas hill country. Going to experiment with cuttings to see if I can get some new plants growing. Thanks!

    When you transferred these to the one gallon pots, did you have them out in direct sunlight form that points on and watering each day?

    Can you explain a little bit more about how you can get multiple shoots from the dirt?

      If the top of the cutting was cut, it will just branch at the ground on its own

    You could inform which components and proportions are used as a substrate for plant development?

    Do you transfer when you get roots and new growth ?

    • @GrowNewPlants
      @GrowNewPlants  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are mainly looking for a good set of roots that can survive the transplant,, the new growth will come once a good set of roots is established.

    I have watched so many propagation videos but no one talks about how much water to give these cuttings

      There is no hard and fast answer, They need to stay moist and humid, like with the dome. If you keep the soil to wet the stems will rot before they form roots. that is why soil is important, the perlite and peat helps keep a moist but well draining soil. Hope that helps a little

    • @firefighterhigginson
      @firefighterhigginson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have a way of knowing when to open the vents on the dome lid to let some moisture out? I assume if it looks like it’s raining inside the dome you should let it breath a little?
