When my daughter was young around 3 or 4 she did not like me putting sunblock on her. I started singing this song to her and she stopped crying and started singing too. So every time I put any lotion on her we had to sing this song. She's 16 now. Time flies too quickly. I've always loved this song. What happened to the good songs like this.
I heard this tune coming from another vehicle at a stoplight a few days ago. I remember this as a kid. I looked over at the vehicle to see who was driving it and there was some guy my age. The first thought to come to my mind is where in the hell did all the time go?

Wonderful video music live performance. I love this song! So beautiful! And Billy Crash Craddock is a wonderful entertainer singer... Such amazing music and very beautiful footage. Max
Wrong year. Billy Crash Craddock's version came out in 1974 and went to number 1 on the Hot Country Singles chart that year. The earlier version recorded by Layng Martine and produced by Ray Stevens was a chart single in 1971. That one only went to number 65 on the Hot 100, and 36 on the Easy listening chart.
Hi Eve, What a fun song to upload, a new song and singer for me.. Enjoyed the video, and all the words.. Hope your doing well. my dear friend.. Have a great day..
The snare drum in this song should've been hit a little harder. Great tune, though! And I especially like it when he said "put a little bit right here. Yeah!". Cool! Huh-huh.

Correct! Always amazes me that people go through all the trouble to create a video and post it, but do little when it comes to researching.

Inspired an Absorbine Jr. Ad Campaign in the mid 80s with the tagline being Rub It In!
I picked up this 45 back in the day, when it was new and on the charts. Seems to me there was a '74 or '75 re-release. :)
He's from my neck of the woods... Kinda. Greensboro, NC. I live 30 minutes from GSO!!

Glade plug it in
Mash up with Silence of the Lambs
"It puts the lotion on its skin,
Rub it in, rub it in."
😂😂😂😂
Remember the Glades plug in commercial, made veriation to this song.
"Plug It In. Plug It In." :)
Is this where the slang came from of how people would say ' Don't rub it in '?....or....' Yeah right, rub it in why don't ya '?. lol
if this song was a letter...it would be about a hundred dollars postage due.
