He has a good mind for promoting and marketing a fight but he has a very basic eye for catching technical details or judging certain situations. Like the time he talked about how "I was talking to the referee but not intelligently defending myself, I didn't think that the referee would call the fight because I am talking to him". Even fans that have watched enough UFC know referees tell fighters "protect yourself at all times, if I do not see you protecting yourself efficiently I will call the fight".

he started fighting in his 20s and quit in his 20s, getting talked into retiring from a single harsh conversation with a guy who isn't even a fighter. if he wouldn't have hated it he'd have kept going. he said himself at the time of his retirement, he was making as much money from the podcast as he was from the UFC, so money wasn't an issue, his training ethic, lack of skill and lack of motivation talked him into quitting.
EdEmKay Joe Rogan isn't a fighter? Rogan told Schaub the truth saying that he isn't on the same level as Cain Velasquez or Travis Browne. And he never said he hated fighting. He did his best that he could in the ufc until he started getting beat by big names. His time came and now he sticks to podcasts.

It's been a long time coming, Brendan has been undermining and chipping away at callen for too long. I'm surprised callen didn't shut him earlier.
This is one of the few times where i actually side with Callen. Brendan is clearly not a shit starter while Callen clearly is and that has nothing to do with upbringing, how you were raised, or how well you can fight. iTs just being a hothead or not which is why Brendan couldn't do shit in the octagon and why Callen gets heated in bars ,at Eddie, and in this instance etc. What's funny is the argument itself proves Brendan wrong and it pisses me off of that they never actually come to a conclusion about it.

I want to chime in! Callen, for the most part, is very open and flexible in expressing his opinions. He'll leave room for disagreement usually. I've noticed that Brendan is the opposite. He'll disagree hard and leans more "black and white". Now listen, I love the show. Both these guys bring something valuable to the table. Personally, I would not continue watching if one of these gentlemen walked from the show (which isn't going to happen because so idk why all these internet trolls are pretending it will). With all that being said, I gotta chalk up the fault to Brendan on this one. Schaub got disrespectful by questioning Callen's credentials in a situation that didn't really call for it.
