I honestly wasn't looking forward to a new sound when Amy first posted about this album. But now that I actually listened to the first two songs they released, and fully understand the concept now, I have no doubt that they won't disappoint me. This is so amazingly powerful, and Amy's voice has improved so much since the fallen/origin years. This is astonishing, and I hope more people will be changing their minds on how they view this album.
For a moment there i think this is ia, so much powerful and intense, the chords and themes exists but in diferent way, uplifting not down and gothic. This is very impressive

AmyQuinnxoxo, You're the only one with a different POV than mine (and his^) who actually used a real argument and I'm not sure I can really disagree with it, especially as I think it's true that ppl should probably stop comparing artists, as it always ends badly ...mostly because they do it wrong (typical humans).
He did that right, though. The real difference between them *is* the quality, and if you don't think so too, I guess you should start questioning your taste and the ability to resist to what you're being fed by some companies -- yes, you can actually listen to any genre but there are gems in each of them as there are shitty stuff, and he mentioned some of the shitty, heavily promoted, stuff. Well, he even said Ariana Grande has a nice voice (I agree O_o)... it takes objectiveness to say that. Most ppl blindly hate anything they don't like.
So, instead of being sarcastic (referring to all the "lol" parts), you should appreciate ppl like him, more than you appreciate the wrong kind of "artists", who enjoy being rich out of nothing because of ppl who accept their stupid "personalities" (well, honestly, they're just puppets), giving nothing back in any way other than brainwashing them, the American way.

I love Evanescence's older songs, but I especially LOVE their transition to more empowering themes while still retaining the core of what makes them Evanescence....This is so darkly epic. Can't stop listening to it.

Evanescence never ceases to amaze me. Amy Lee, as the band's front woman, is very real during interviews, and is always very secretive about what the band will be doing next. She, along with her band mates, never give into mainstream mentality, and create music that feels right to them. They always hope that their fans will remain true to them, and appreciate the different styles of music that they produce. Evanescence will never stop challenging themselves, or giving us their best. I am always pumped to see what they bring us next.

This is so out of the mainstream and I absolutely adore it. This is a reinvention. The lyrics speak to me (I did a thing there) on such a deep level and I can't even describe it. I can't wait to hear the rest of this album.

Being honest here. The first minute or two I was a little ambivalent about it. Didn't really feel the intensity that made me fall in love with Evanescence and Amy Lee's voice all those years ago. But then the second half kicked in. Emotional intensity with a layering of sounds that's always captivated me. Thank you. Going to love seeing you guys live when you come to Toronto in December.

This is seriously the most pitiful comment I've ever seen. They have had songs like this in the past, on every single album. Chill out. Please give me a single pop song on the radio that sounds like this right now? You can't. I feel sorry for people who expect Evanescence to stay in the same box forever, repeating the same formulas for each album. It's not idealistic or creative, that shit would be boring as fuck. Nobody needs "Bring Me To Life" x1000 for each single, and every song on the album. That's ridiculous. Amy has always been influenced by beats and electronica and if you can't hear that on "Fallen" and "The Open Door" you are the one that's ton deaf. Get over yourself, your wants and your needs. There are hundreds of thousands of fans who welcome the change and appreciate anything Evanescence puts out, why because its ever-changing and developing. If you want to sulk in the deep dark goth thickness of it all continue to listen to Fallen on repeat, the rest of us are looking forward to the changes.

Am I the only one who actually LOVES this new album?? I'm a fan of dubstep so this is so awesome! I just see so many comments about people hating it and I just feel like I shouldn't like it but I do! With so many bands switching sound recently (Linkin Park and The Script, to name but two) I was really nervous to hear this new song by Evanescence. Yes, it's got something different, but it's done what other bands couldn't - evolved without losing their signature sound. I absolutely adore this song and cannot wait for the rest!
Amy's voice is just as powerful here as it was back on Fallen. I really like this! Can't wait to hear the whole album (and hopefully see them live come November :D)

When Amy first announced on their facebook page that they were stripping the drums and guitars out of their new music, I was really bummed out. I loved that part of Evanescence, the dark-rock aspect of their old music. But I love Evanescence and Amy, I will stick by them and continue to support them no matter what direction they decide to take their music. So when Synthesis was announced, I had mixed feelings on it being more electronica based. Listening to Imperfection for a few times, I'm totally in love with this song and can not wait for the full album to come out! Even though I will miss their more heavier music, I do love the contrast between the orchestra and electronica for this album.

Podria decirse que es pop sinfonico, en este disco no esperes nada del genero que naturalmente ha caracterizado a la banda en los ultimos años, sera totalmente sinfonico con arreglos electronicos, esta cancion es nueva junto con otra que tambien sacaran, el resto seran los exitos de la banda, arreglados con el nuevo estilo musical para este disco.

It sounds so cool how she comes out sounding like a "above average pop diva" at the beginning and within the song too, but goes right into the Evanescence we all know and love with strong lyrics and keeps with the mix of industrial and orchestral really works. I wonder if there's more people besides just a few who were waiting for this since hearing the remix of "Made Of Stone"(if you haven't heard it, it's the renholder one and was used in the credits for underworld awakening, it sounds like it could be right on this album).

I don't care of missing guitars, I don't care it's not "like old Evanescence". The creativity, quality and an emotional level came so far. Amy grew up as we, old fans, also did. This is world.
