- Hello everyone,
Today we share with you our biggest compliment for New Zealand along with some pictures and videos of our day today, well spent with our daughter. We hope you enjoy!
Sincerely,
The Foley Family
On holiday in the US 25 years ago I meet a guy who let me stay with him and his wife for a few days, lent me one of their cars and took me to parties. I asked why he was totally open to a guest he didn't know. He said came to New Zealand on a sporting tour and the hospitality all over the country while they were here was incredible and decided if he could pay back a New Zealander some day he would. i was the lucky New Zealander. It was the best weekend of my life and I'm 64.
Welcome to New Zealand
New Zealand is Super friendly and always looking out for one another,
Helpful. And also there to lend a hand aswell.
As an American now in NZ, this has very much been our experience as well.
We were seeking this kind of culture and community and we're glad it's real, and we're excited to give back, too. And hey, makes up for all the rain 😉
You are a mom an dad to all of kiwis
Welcome. You’ve chosen a nice area, at the Mount.
Theres a great walk, around the Mount… although there may be a few steps to navigate with the toddler.
And it’ll get nicer with Spring and Summer not far away.
Hi guy's.
The majority of people in New Zealand would help y'all out in whatever manner possible (small or large) if you ask them.
Don't be offended by those that refuse to, they're probably still trying to figure out things going on in their lives.
We're only human.
Thanks for the positive outlook.
Thank you guys. We definitely aren’t perfect though, and we are far away from everything so it can be hard for new immigrants to feel they fit in. Especially if you miss bits of home and family back there, that’s the hardest to overcome and simply takes time. Again, best of luck with your new lives here. We love to have you here.
Good to see the little enjoying the beach
It's 100% real. that's just how we are, and we are genuinely STOKED to have you here. New Zealand is nksrkh spoken about in positive terms in the media and showcased in films, but its not until people arrive here that they understand truly what makes New Zealand great... it's people. yeah the scenery and the way of life is fantastic and a lot of Kiwis don't understand just how lucky we are, but it's the people that make us special.
if you're ever in Taranaki, hit me up. myself and my little whānau would love to show you around. We're the hidden gem of Aotearoa, off the beaten track (you really have to want to come here, we're pretty isolated) but once you're here you'll probably never want to leave. 😉
welcome and so glad you’re happy with your situation thus far. In relation to your comment about most people being open, I’ll tell you a story that happened to some tourist back in 2011 when NZ ( and Aus jointly) hosted the Rugby World Cup. An article appeared in the main Wellington newspaper about a couple from overseas that had prepaid via an internet website for a couple of weeks accommodation in Day’s Bay, renting a home for the duration of their stay (an affluent suburb of the greater Wellington region). The article told how when the couple arrived at the location, they discovered that the booking was fraudulent and they were thousands of dollars out of pocket. They had not budgeted for having to cover the costs of now finding other accommodation. Two days later a follow up article appeared in the newspaper saying that the couple had been inundated by offers ( forwarded to them via the newspaper) of free accommodation in people’s homes and free use of vehicles, etc., that more than covered the duration of their stay here. Looking forward to more content from you in the future and all the best to your family. Regards Ken
So happy for you guys!!
So glad you feel welcomed and loved in our country!! Its the people that make the place special. Bear in mind, you will come across so idiots however the majority of us are warm and welcoming. Enjoy your NZ
Have you tried Robbies Fish and Chips down near the wharf, they are the best in NZ. One minute on the trawler, filleted then fried, you choose the filet. There's also the Lynley Dodd characters from the children's books of Hairy McLary in the park not far from the library
It’s called Bobby’s by the locals in Tauranga on the waterfront and expect an hour or so wait on busy days. Currently closed Monday to wednesday. Often closed due to lack of fish. Also take your own ketchup, bread, cutlery and drinks, as it’s not a restaurant, more an outdoor experience. Tip on picking fish, snapper, tarakihi, gurnard and bluegill is popular or just pick the fish of the day because the batter is nice anyways.
He also has a shop next to Pizza Hut at Papamoa plaza 9/10 this shop is open 7 days of the week.

You gave up a lot to be here we need good people like yourselves so welcome home👍👍
Hi there , kind of you to say. If you are looking at places to visit you might like some of the locations highlighted on my channel which is Auckland centric but includes material from Taranaki and the Canterbury area, essentially as seen by locals . Cheers Chris 😀

Yes its all genuine
You have a lot of competition. But keep it up. I hope it goes well
