If there is one thing that I can count on it is moltres and its good resistance pool to get it to fly up to OU when it is needed.
And honestly Waterpon and Kyurem are probably the main cause of moltres rising since it doesn't do bad into either of those brokens

That shit was ass and only ou cause of olt. Mon hasnt stayed OU since gen 3. Where as gen 9 has shown it ou several times. Not to say i didn’t enjoy using it in gen 4 ou occasionally and 6

Literally the same role this mon had in Gen3 (minus the flame body), I love the vibe. Comes in with its unique defensive typing that’s immune to hazards, then threatens wisp/fire move to force switches. When enemy is forced to switch, click roar and rack up spikes damage.
reminder the same person who animates gen 9 sprites coded flame body, and this is why flame body is an 80% burn over the standard 30% on showdown

I do remember early Crown Tundra last gen where Moltres was also a legitimate OU mon, though it shared the same tier as Zapdos and it eventually dropped to UU.
Moltres rising to OU while Zapdos is now in UU is hilarious though; I think this is the first time Zapdos has been dethroned by a different Kanto bird.
I was about to consider Articuno in gen 1 but I think Zap fills a completely different role.
@@louc.6735 Articuno was UU in Gen 1 and notably lower in the OU VR than Zapdos, but it is a solid mon in Gen 1 OU. Gen 1 Blizzard + pre-Special split is a powerful combination.
@@the_bookworm8281 yeah I thought there was a reason. I swore it was still OU but I remembered wrong. Still, it's tragic what they did to Articuno in gen 2. Wouldn't see viability again until vgc 2023.
I believe the only other gen Zap in UU in is gen 5.
Lowkey articuno deserve ability that matches flame body and statics
Give it an ability if a special attacker attacked it they will have 30% chance to get their special attack lowered by 50%
Similar to the move in legend arceus
My boy will have solid place in higher tiers if they did that

Honestly more than just viable since it not only beats Rillaboom but also has a chance to neutralize it for the rest of the game with Flame Body unlike Zapdos' Static.
it was like that in Gen 5 too, as it was able to OHKO Ferrothorn even in rain.

@@pokeaimMD aw, would definitely love an RR sub series. It’s basically just their version of Dynamax I think but I really would love to see a nice and week long series of that since it is a totally different meta game. Gen 8+ has always been boring IMO because there’s nothing unique about it.
I mean SS is a very unique meta in a lot of ways due to all the differences from previous and later gens

@@FleetinDreamJoey’s talked plenty even in previous comments how much he likes playing Gen 9 OU and that it still has plenty of room to grow, with stuff like this Moltres development being an example. Feel free to check his Take Heart Manaphy vid comments. Point is majority of people definitely don’t find Gen 9 OU boring, and see it as a huge improvement to Gen 8 OU especially.
Triple Axel had more chance to kill, you didn't factor in the Ice Tera
Even with Tera Ice, Low Kick is slightly better due to Triple Axel's miss chance.
It must be 2 hits or higher, and even 2 hits is not guaranteed kill. Missing out right is 10% chance, only hitting once is 9%, so that's 81% already. Lower than 81.3% damage roll kill chance by Low Kick
