- I put together the most stacked home run derby in history to answer one question: who is the greatest home run hitter of all time?
It's a topic that has been and will be debated for generations. And while the argument can never be truly settled, today, with the help of MLB The Show, I'm gonna try to get an answer by putting the hardest hitters in history head to head to find the best of the best.

You should put dingus on the mound and try to pitch a perfect game.
Yes please. I always want more Dingus content, he's Fumble Dimension's Stupid Crapface but for baseball.
Yes
HE DID it
He listened
If Bonds will be in the game, he should to be the best hitter of the game by far, 175 of contact, power, vision and maybe discipline
As far as pure power/distance… McGwire is WELL ABOVE Balco Bonds. Macs longest home runs dwarfed barry’s ;)
And don’t forget… McGwire’s career Home Run per at bat ratio is better than bonds.
And 175 steriods.
@@jimclaus1576this literally isnt true at all barry's homerun at angel stadium was like 520
@@jimclaus1576also distance doesnt matter all you gotta do is hit it 325 to get it out
and Bonds did every other aspect of the game better than McGwire by far….not even close. I love McGwire but he’s not in the same class as Bonds.
It would be fun to see an old timers HR Derby. I miss Old Timers games.
Not the same as the old timers games from the ASG weekend that they used to do, but every year the Yankees host Old Timers Day and you get to watch guys like Goose, Gator, Bernie, O'Neill. Rivera played in one or two. Reggie as well. Not quite what it used to be since the passing of Yogi. It was always a treat just to see him standing on the field.
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the bash brothers were McGwire and Canseco, not Sosa.
An argument could be made for Gehrig and Ruth or Mantle and DiMaggio as the "first" bash brothers in my book though.
Big time. Those guys were smashing them out of the park on a regular basis and we know they weren't on performance enhancing drugs
I'm honestly glad "Balanced Breakfast" Barry wasn't in the video. Had to make it a competition after all.
Facts
Is it possible to bunt for an inside the park homerun? You should try that.
There's a video on TH-cam where Ichiro bunted a home run. It's a good edit. 😅
@@Ascending11 That was an edit?!
I’m glad a champion of eating balanced meals, working out to a consistent schedule, and a champion of (checks notes) honesty and integrity won this fun simulated competition.
McGwire eats clen, trens very hard, anavar gives up. True role model.
Ken Griffrey Jr got the smoothest swing of them all. his injuries definitely hindered his all-time stats
I think video games have officially become TOO realistic. I can literally make out each individual person in the crowd lol.
The ideal way to win the home run derby is to hit line drive wallscrapers and also two 440 footers, because the game doesn't let another pitch get thrown until the previous one lands. Guys like Tim Locastro can win derbies at high elevation stadiums because of it.
The bash brothers were Mark McGuire and Jose Canseco when they played for the A’s.
Yea, my memory failed me. Woops.
i thought same thing. but i was like o well who realy cares lol. i dont get why bonds isnt in the game. guess because his stats cant fit lol.
I wish Barry allowed his likeness in games...
It would break the game 💀💀
Head size overload!!! 😂😂
Mark McGwire is great but would love to have seen Albert Pujols in the competition.
Albert is not in this game? That's criminal. Just 703 homeruns. Wow. The disrespect.
Why is McGuire in the game but not bonds? Bonds is the goat
bonds pulled himself out of MLBPA's licensing agreement in 2004
1. The BABY Ruth candy bar is NOT named after Babe Ruth and the Bash Brothers is what people called the late 80s/early 90s Oakland As, mostly Maguire and Canseco.
It's amazing that Bagwell still doesn't get any love. He didn't cheat and made the hall of fame. Smh.... I would take him over those two any day.
Facts I think with the obvious Juicers in the game there should be a way their power is mediocre until they enter "Juice mode" or something then and only then can they approach the likes of Aaron, Mays or Griffey, McGwire and Sosa don't belong in any discussion with the rest of the guys.
Bonds juiced and I would still take him over Bagwell. Both his unjuiced form and juiced form.
@@OldBenKenobi2318 as a player, sure but Would He be worth the headache as big a prick as He was? F No dude was insufferable, Both guys underwhelmed in the postseason....Bonds finally had a little success with the needles assistance but before that He was always a post season no show, the most maddening thing about Bonds was He was an easy HOFer without the juice, But He got got jealous over a couple roid heads grabbing more attention than him and preceded to piss on his own legacy as well. Instead of being Cobb, an all time great who was also an all time A**hole Bonds just became An All time A**hole who roided out so bad his head grew, THAT's his legacy.
Same with Pujols.
Bonds had one 50+ home run season, and only led the league in home runs twice over a 22 year career. His 2001 season is all people really remember. He wasn’t the best home run hitter of all time if you look at a rate basis, he was just the most consistent over a longer period of time. Mark McGwire had four 50+ home run seasons and led the league in homers 4 times in his 16 year career. McGwire’s career home run per at bat rate: 10.61.
Bonds career home run per at bat rate: 12.92. McGwire also had 4,946 less plate appearances than Bonds. If McGwire had as many plate appearances as Bonds did he would’ve hit 960 home runs.
McGwire is the true best power hitter of all time, and if I haven’t convinced you with the numbers I’d love to hear your argument.
Neither of those guys are the best HR hitter of all time, HTF is the best pure power of all time gonna be juiced to the Gills?, I mean "pure" has to count for something. Aaron Will always be the king until someone clean actually surpasses him. Griffey May have had a shot had He stayed healthy.
Was McGwire ever intentionally walked with the bases loaded? Nuff said
It’s not even a question, Barry bonds is the best slugger all time. Not even close
*
@Pwnzistor you have one for Ruth being in segregated league?
@@Halmir4126 yes it is hank than pojols
And the most juiced player of all time too. He would be nowhere near the 762 mark without roids.
Your so underrated I love your content i subbed around 10k ❤❤❤
Why did he not put Sammy vs mark?
“He’ll probably hit a home run with a Pringles can” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Im so glad i found your channel bro. love the vids man.
Jose Canseco just had a heart attack when he heard you call them the bash Brothers
Little upset at no Pujols.
I was just looking at your channel. Perfect
Prime Steroid Giant Barry Bonds was, without question the most dominant HR hitter of all time. Guy was dropping 70 bombs WHILE taking 200 walks. Nothing ever like that.
He was a monster pre juice but his power game was in the 33 a year HR range, 40 to 50 stolen bases, and stellar defense.
When his head started to grow, I still want to know what exercise makes your hat size go up 4 or 5 non fraction sizings. But when his head grew, that choked up bat was the most dominant offensive threat in MLB history.
You can hate the roids, the era, and even Bonds himself, but you can’t deny that presence. Screw a derby, MLB pitching vs MLB hitting, Bonds was THAT dude.
i think pete alonso could also deserve a spot in this vid. there is obviously basis because i’m a mets fan but he is one of the best homerun hitters in the game right now
I deadass thought u had 100k plus 😂 u a goat fr though
Babe Ruth.
I wish Bo Jackson was in the game
I thought I was the only one who called Ken Griffey Jr KGJ 🤷♂️
Why would you leave out bonds? If it’s because of steroids, you should have left out McGuire , Sosa, and Griffey jr(yes I said it, Griffey juiced). Seems pretty bs to me.
I said in the video, he isn't in the game.
*The ‘bash brothers’ was Canseco & McGwire*
Bro is SO underated
I think the biggest thing I would like to see out of this sort of anachronism stew gaming simulation is Lou Gehrig if he never contracted ALS. Like, I'd love to simulate an entire career for the man, just to see if he could stand even closer to the other giants of the game than he already does with his career having been cut tragically short. I don't know if he's in this game or not, though, I know very little about The Show.
His last full season was at the age of 35. Played eight games during his age 36 season. He would’ve had about 4 more seasons. He would’ve started declining during that time as well. He was the og Ironman after all so I’m sure he was extremely tired. He would’ve made it to the 3000 hit/500 homer club though. Maybe 600 homer club if he was able to keep his production up. He would’ve also gotten to 2000 RBIs. He definitely could’ve beefed up his stats if he played a few more years though. At the same time it could ruin some of his stats like his .340 career average and 1.080 career ops. That’s just mental to think about someone having an above 1.000 career ops.
Also I was looking through his stats on baseball reference and he only has TWO career gdp(grounded into double plays). They didn’t start tracking them until his last season where he only played eight games lol.
There are some goodones..presteroids..like Dave kingman,Mickey mantle, even Darrel strawberry..
But I'd chose Willie stargell..he was still hitting bombs 16 yrs into the league
RIP Willie Mays😢 May 6 1931-June 18 2024
/babe Ruth routinely stepped up to bat with a 74 inch bat/
Criminal that you left out Pete Alonso
I can only choose 8 batters in the history of baseball and you think Alonso is on that list 🧐
Hank Aaron. He wasn't jacked up on roids like a couple others. It was about his swing, seeing the ball and natural talent.
Griffey Jr? Albert Pujols?
hey i know you've completely rebranded ur channel but do u think u could make the bombparty tournament videos public again? theyre kind of a big part of the games history as it was the first documented bigscale tournament. if u dont wanna stain ur recently uploaded, u can upload them on an alt and that would work just as well
Ruth is the best all time. Period. End of.
He was facing plumbers during the Great Depression. They were throwing 70 mph tops. He is not the best all time. Period. Never give a baseball take again.
Rip David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez
That depends are we talking most hrs, most likely to homer or who hit it the longest...cause Willie stargell went full ham on one ball and I think it went 500ft?
It’s a crime not having Bonds in the game
Tell him to get his head out of his ass and join the MLBPA then
It'd be a crime to have him in the game, literally. He's not in it because he didn't give up his rights.
My dad always said McGwire was the best home run hitter ever cuz if you go by number of at bats per home run he beats everyone
would we consider pete alonso one of the best one day? like strictly speaking in terms of hr hitters
BONDS DUDE this is a bogus ridiculouse video with no bonds and an insult
Dude, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were absolutely NOT known as the Bash Brothers.... that was Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco when they played together on the Oakland A's
I thought you would have put Albert Pujols in there because he has 703 Career home runs
I can say my favorite player (jr) would of definitely joined the 700 club if he stayed healthy. I'd like to think he would beat Ruth, but I'm unsure beyond that. Definitely the best swing!
We should divide this between Juiced and non Juiced
The answer is me. I am the greatest home run derby hitter of all time. You should know I gave you the work in one.
Babe rith,no video necessary!!!
Love your vids keep it going
I feel like stanton should be here just if you are looking at who hits the hardest and farthest home runs
The disrespect on Pujols 700+
Rip Willie mays😢
Rip pujols and his 700 HRs
He's not in this game 🤷♂️
@@Jarodactyl big oof by the developers.
Jarodactyl the 🐐
Edited: Which video game character is the greatest video game home run hitter. lol
Your favorite team is the Phillies… and McGwire was your favorite player growing up… are you me?
you said balls.............
7:54 hahah
What happens if Dingus Dingerson’s only high stats are fielding and durability? Can he win a golden glove without being able to move or throw for shit?
Jr. Here is why. He missed about 3 seasons and still ended up with the number of HR je had! Figure 30 each yr for those 3 yrs he missed, so that is 90 more and that would have given him
720
They actually named the Baby Ruth candy bar after Grover Cleveland's daughter who was named Ruth but lets be honest thats bullshit
Actually Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire were know as the bash brothers while on the Athletics. Not Sosa
Sosa and Mcguire werent the bash brothers...
You should of put jose altuve in this
Barry Bonds is the undisputed GOAT hitter of Baseball. If you disagree you are a hater. He may have been roided out but so were the pitchers throwing him the ball. He is truly the GOAT
David Ortiz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! needs to be in it
Don't forget Hank. Aaron
54 pound bat!?! 😂
With or without roids?
The bash brothers were McGwire and canseco, not McGwire and Sosa.
Bash Brothers were Mcgwire and Canseco
Bonds is an ass, but leaving him off the list is a crime. Most feared hitter of all time.
It's Hank Aaron.
you should make longer vids
Ruth!! Hands down.
Barry Bonds!!!
an all time HR derby with no Bonds??? already messed up
It is only messed up if his cheating ass is on there, idiot!
Shoulda had Jim thome here
How do you do this video without Barry Bonds?
No Ralph Kiner? 😯😯
Barry Bonds, the greatest homerun hitter (and perhaps the greatest hitter) of all time, would win.
What? 😂😂😂😂
What says the guy who knows nada about baseball 😂
@@sagelow3274 I’ve forgot more about this game than you’ll ever know!
Henry Aaron and Babe Ruth second
ZERO cred with no Bonds.
Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron
Why is it ok to put Sosa and Mcgwire in the game but no Bonds lol?
answer is simple: la steroid daddy hack IV
Jimmie Foxx
Josh Gibson easily
It may be Aaron Judge
Where’s Reggie Stocker. Best homerun hitter in MLB the show history
Bonds!
Lasteroid wins
is barry bonds not in the game?
nvm just got to that part
